Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Gall couldn’t help but take a step back.

He was then bumped back by Roberts who was walking behind him.

”What’s wrong?” Roberts asked curiously.

”I... I’m a bit worried about the blood meal I brought...” Gall casually made up an excuse, ”He’s staying with the Banshee, won’t he get killed?”

”Read more books, buddy.” Roberts mocked, ”Banshees are harmless, those guys just like to wail beneath the windows of those about to die.”

Gall had no choice but to walk in nervously, and then someone shoved a goblet into his hand.

He lowered his head to sniff, discovering it was fresh human blood mixed with a strange scent of cedar.

”Special Banshee flavor,” the Vampire who handed him the cup winked and said with a smile, ”You’ll like it, brother.”

Gall took two sips, feeling every cell from his throat to his stomach being satisfied.

During his time on the run, he rarely had the chance to drink human blood. And the refrigerated blood in hospitals was mixed with something, tasting far worse than fresh blood.

If not for the threat to his life, Gall would almost have shouted excitedly, ”Another cup!”

Even more fortunately, after listening for a while, he found out the others were not familiar with each other either; they were only invited here because they were vampires, all in dire situations, having received a mass invitation.

”Hi, hello.” A young-looking Vampire girl approached, clinking her glass with his, and said with a smile, ”I’m Sofia.”

Gall hastily replied, ”I’m... I’m Oliver.”

He nearly forgot the fake name he had randomly made up.

Sofia took a sip of blood and asked quietly, ”Do you think the words on the invitation are true?”

”Ah? This...” Gall didn’t know what was written on the invitation, so he said vaguely, ”It should be, right? Doesn’t sound believable to you?”

He threw the question back.

”Who knows?” The girl leaned against the cabinet and looked at the room full of Vampires with dark circles, saying, ”It says everyone can get at least thirty thousand Galleons if successful, such a good thing I wouldn’t dare dream of...”

——How much? What did you say?

Gall was so shocked he almost spat out the blood in his mouth. He stretched his neck and swallowed it all down with a gulp, finally understanding why the Vampires in the room had that expression.

That greed... that longing... wasn’t because they, like him, rarely drank blood, but because they were hoping for more tangible, shimmering profits.

——Nearby Hogwarts, can there be such a good thing? What sort of operation can yield hundreds of thousands of Galleons?

Despite not yet understanding the whole story, Gall had a very strong sense of crisis, eager to escape.

He downed the blood in the cup, put down the goblet, exchanged a few idle words, and then clutched his stomach, calling out, ”Sofia, I think I’m allergic to Banshee’s blood, can you tell me where the bath...”

But Sofia’s gaze suddenly shifted to the upper right, saying, ”Look! That’s probably our inviter.”

Gall turned his head, and saw a man and a woman coming down from upstairs. The man’s demeanor was gloomy, all over him exuded the vibe of a ”Dark Wizard”; the woman seemed like an ordinary housewife, but her eyes gave off a dangerous feeling.

”Welcome, welcome everyone,”

The man smiled and said, ”Thank you for accepting my invitation, it’s nostalgic to work with everyone as before. Unfortunately, since the organization bases have been successively destroyed, we seem to have all turned into wandering souls. I heard many have become quite difficult recently...”

”Cut the crap, Byrd.”

One Vampire with a knife scar on his face said, ”We’re all just cannon fodder thrown into the battlefield by the organization and lucky enough to survive, not like you, a favorite before the bosses.”

”Exactly, we just want to hear what big business you mentioned,” another Vampire with terrible burn scars grinned ferociously, ”If you trick me, I swear I’ll tear you to pieces!”

Gall could tell most people here didn’t really believe in any hundred thousand Galleons ”big business”, merely driven by greed, they decided to come and check it out.

Besides, for most of them, even if there isn’t a hundred thousand Galleons, getting a few thousand... or a few hundred Galleons is worth doing some dirty work.

”Once you hear it, you’ll know why such money is possible. In fact... the real number might be even higher.”

Byrd revealed a mysterious smile.

...

”What kind of joke is this? Kidnapping a Hogwarts student? Vid Gray?” Roberts roared, ”Are you looking to die? Don’t drag me along if you want to die!”

He turned to leave but was blocked at the door by the scar-faced Vampire.

”Considering the sales of his works, Vid Gray’s vault surely has hundreds of thousands, even millions of Galleons, but with Dumbledore around, no one can touch him.”

The scar-faced Vampire calmly asked:

”Byrd, I suppose you also don’t want to commit suicide, so what’s the plan?”

”I’ve received news that this weekend, Dumbledore will need to see the Beauxbatons Headmaster.”

Byrd smiled, ”Hogsmeade weekend, folks, all the wizard brats run around this village, if one or two go missing nobody would notice.”

”Surely you can’t just charge into a crowd and nab such a noticeable wizard?” Roberts sneered, ”I bet if you did, Dumbledore would appear in less than three seconds!”

”Indeed, so someone needs to lure him here, even if caught no one will notice.” Byrd said, ”I’ve already arranged the most difficult step, at the time someone will bring Vid Gray here, do you have any other questions?”

”Even so...” Artemis said nervously, ”There’s no guarantee it will go without a hitch, he might bring friends, Hogwarts professors might suddenly appear...”

”That’s why I invited you all, buddies! If such an absolutely smooth operation existed, I’d do it alone!” Byrd said frankly, ”But if successful, it’s as easy as picking up money from the ground!”

”If it doesn’t go smoothly? Besides Dumbledore, Hogwarts has quite a few powerful professors, even this village, it’s full of Wizards...” Artemis said worriedly.

”If caught, then of course death is possible.” Byrd shrugged, smiling, ”——Then others can split more of the money.”

Thinking of the glittering gold mountain, the Vampires’ eyes instantly became even greedier.

The burned Vampire licked his lips, saying, ”Definitely worth a shot. Byrd, how will the profits be shared then?”

”I just want the person, alive.” Byrd said, ”All the assets in that kid’s vault are yours.”

”Once captured, how do you plan to escape?” the scar-faced Vampire asked, ”Do you have a Portkey?”

”No such luck, the wizard in the organization who could help make Portkeys was killed by Grindelwald.” Byrd said regretfully, ”We can only use Floo Powder, fortunately, there is a fireplace installed in this house.”

Everyone fell silent for a moment.

The fireplace in this house can only squeeze in up to two people at a time, meaning transferring everyone to a safe place would take quite a bit of time.

As they can’t clearly articulate the Floo destination while transformed into bats.

If the capture operation was exposed early, then the Vampires left behind would be dead for sure. At that time, they might even start killing each other immediately for a chance at escape.

However, conversely, as long as it isn’t exposed within half an hour... even twenty minutes, it indeed is a quick money-grabbing operation.

No one believes a dozen Vampires can’t capture a teenager; they only worry about becoming cannon fodder left behind.

After a moment of silence, everyone tacitly suppressed their anxiety and fear, and began discussing the action’s details.
