Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 556: Chapter 176: Fire Dragon and Young Wolf (Part 2)

Hagrid repeatedly reminded them: ”Nobeta has a good temperament, but don’t take advantage of me not paying attention to bully her quietly. She’s not to be trifled with when she’s angry. You’re not allowed to pull off her scales and feathers, but if they fall on the ground, you’re welcome to pick them up.”

In fact, the students who came here were carefully chosen by Hagrid. Fred and George couldn’t come because they were busy with classes, and he knew full well there were no troublemakers among these students.

He was saying all of this primarily for Draco Malfoy, with half his attention on this Slytherin.

If the Half-Blood Giant could have thought of a reasonable excuse to break his promise, he wouldn’t have brought Malfoy to see his precious Nobeta.

But unexpectedly, Malfoy didn’t secretly act up, nor did he disrespectfully make remarks like he did last time with the Hippogriff.

He gently stroked the Fire Dragon, his eyes filled with admiration and affection, even when he accidentally bumped into Harry, he didn’t notice the person he hated the most, ”scarhead.”

At this moment, he looked almost like a simple child.

Hagrid finally felt a bit relieved and took down a bag from his back, distributing the jerky and fruits inside to the students.

”You can feed her a little food, Nobeta likes fruit too. Remember to keep your distance, throw it from three or four meters away and that’s fine.”

Hagrid said, deliberately giving Malfoy extra, hoping he’d get caught up in feeding the dragon and not cause trouble.

Vid also went along and accepted some fruit; Hagrid grabbed a handful for him, which was a large batch, with two apples, a handful of cherries, and several kiwis, all emitting a sweet aroma.

After feeding for a while, he suddenly noticed something.

Not far from the forest, sounds of breaking branches and suppressed sobs could be heard.

—Could it be that a student secretly followed them into the Forbidden Forest and accidentally got injured?

Vid listened carefully again but didn’t detect any more movements.

He glanced at Hagrid, who was focused on watching the students feed the dragon, thought about it, and decided not to bother him. At this point, Hagrid could not leave; otherwise, if Nobeta suddenly got provoked, the students here could get wiped out.

But Vid was also concerned about the sounds he heard earlier. He handed the remaining fruit to Rolf, patted his shoulder and said, ”You keep feeding these, I’ll go to the restroom.”

”Oh, okay.” Rolf accepted the fruit and cautioned, ”Be careful, don’t go too far.”

”Don’t worry, I know.”

Vid said casually, waved his hand, and walked into the forest. Fang, the hound, noticed a student leaving the group, glanced at his master, then at Vid’s direction, quickly made a decision, and headed over.

While being hidden by the tree trunks, Vid used the Disillusionment Charm, quickly and lightly moving towards the source of the sounds.

”Woof! Woof woof!”

Fang ran over suddenly; although it couldn’t see, it found Vid’s position through scent and stood in front of him, barking softly, urging him to return to the group swiftly.

Vid suddenly felt like a shepherd dog herding sheep. He lifted the Disillusionment Charm and bent down to pet the hound’s head.

”There are strange sounds nearby, perhaps a student is alone. Can you help me listen carefully, is that the case?”

In the Magic World, animals are generally smart. Hearing this, Fang stopped barking and perked up its ears to listen intently.

Once it quieted down, the sounds became much clearer—rustling...clicking...along with panting sounds.

Fang immediately became extremely alert, baring its teeth with a fierce look, which could almost make a child cry in fear. But knowing Fang’s timid nature, Vid realized the hound was so scared it was about to run away.

Fang only seemed particularly brave when near Hagrid.

Upon hearing the clicking sounds resembling the clash of pincers, Vid raised his eyebrows, roughly knowing what the opposite thing was. He pulled out his Magic Wand and walked lightly forward, Fang shrinking back, following behind.

After circling a bush, they finally saw the creatures making the sounds.

There were a few Acromantulas as large as horses, slowly surrounding a large tree, their eight legs moving in a dominating manner.

”Blood.” Accompanied by the clicking sounds, one spider said, ”The smell of blood.”

”The dragon’s prey...has escaped.” Another spider said joyfully.

”Dinner, snacks.” Other spiders happily clicked their pincers.

”Quiet! Quiet! Don’t attract the Fire Dragon.” said the largest Acromantula.

At the root of the tree they surrounded was a tree hole, hidden in the darkness was something, breathing hard, its body slightly rising and falling, occasionally emitting fearful whimpers.

”Hey!” Vid suddenly spoke, walking out from behind the tree, holding his Magic Wand and asking, ”What are you doing?”

All the Acromantulas turned their heads simultaneously, dozens of eyes gleaming as they stared at him.

”Human!”

”Stranger!”

”Brought by Hagrid, young one!”

”Eat it! Eat it!” The Acromantulas said resentfully.

Vid felt something was amiss; by now, the leader of the Acromantulas—Argo should still be alive, but these spiders seemed to have no fondness for Hagrid at all.

He didn’t have time to think much, waved his hand, and a space unfolded suddenly, with Mikhail bursting out like an arrow, excitedly spitting a thin flame from its mouth.
