Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 553: Chapter 175: Journey to the Forbidden Forest

”Why are they here too?”

Malfoy glared fiercely at the group over there, while Harry unapologetically rolled his eyes at him. Beside him, Ron, Neville, Hermione, and others stood by Harry’s side, looking at him with unfriendly faces.

Malfoy began to regret not bringing along his classmates, even though they wouldn’t have been much help, at least he wouldn’t seem so isolated.

He had no choice but to target the only adult, Hagrid, angrily saying, ”Professor Hagrid, you owe me! Why bring along these guys?”

Though he called him ”Professor,” his tone was impolite, and as soon as he finished speaking, a low growl suddenly erupted.

A huge black hound emerged from behind the hut, baring its teeth and growling lowly. It slowly approached Malfoy, and when it passed by Hagrid, the Half-Blood Giant bent down to pull its collar.

The hound immediately struggled, discontentedly making ”whimpering” noises.

”No, Fang, back off.”

Hagrid soothed the hound while explaining:

”Oh, Malfoy, you don’t think... whatever... convincing Professor Snape to postpone a day of detention is easy, do you?”

”I said it was a very important special field trip lesson for Care of Magical Creatures, a rare opportunity, so it was difficult to get him to agree. Otherwise, you’d probably still be scrubbing cauldrons now?”

Ron burst into laughter, then scratched his face and turned his gaze under Malfoy’s glare.

Malfoy: ”...#”

Very angry, but helpless.

After all, there were too many of them, he couldn’t fight them, couldn’t exactly berate them, and even the professor and dog were on Potter’s side.

He had no choice but to adapt to the situation, suppressing his anger and standing to the side, silently cursing Ron Weasley countless times with the nastiest words.

”Malfoy’s here too, Hagrid, are we leaving now?” Harry asked, ”What do we need to prepare?”

”Oh, no, wait.” Hagrid looked at the time and said, ”There are a few more people coming soon.”

Within minutes, figures gradually appeared on the lawn again, some senior students like Percy Weasley and Penelope Clearwater, and a few junior students like Rolf Scamander.

”Hi, Vid! Long time no see!”

Once Rolf saw Vid, he waved and ran over excitedly, saying, ”I knew I’d see you this time.”

”Long time no see, Rolf.” Vid smiled and nodded.

Malfoy looked at the girl walking nearby—Astoria Greengrass, Daphne’s sister.

This girl with golden curly hair was looking around curiously, seeming very excited, a faint blush spread across her pale face.

Malfoy frowned disdainfully.

He indeed hoped more Slytherins would come, but he didn’t expect a little girl who was no help and might even need taking care of.

”You better turn back now!” Malfoy said in a low voice to Astoria, ”Our goal is to see the Fire Dragon in the Forbidden Forest, if you don’t want to get hurt or end up dead, go back to your house now!”

Astoria looked at him surprised, then said, ”I know!”

”What?” Malfoy said.

”Professor Hagrid told me we’re going deeper into the Forbidden Forest, I accepted the invitation with consideration,” Astoria said, ”Why do you sound just like my sister? Do you think I’m some easily deceived fool?”

After she finished speaking, she wrinkled her nose with an even more disdainful expression and then moved over to the Ravenclaw students.

Soon, Astoria started chatting with some Ravenclaws, Malfoy saw them talking and laughing, and anger churned in his chest.

—If there’s danger, don’t count on me to save you!

Malfoy thought grumpily to himself.

In reality, Draco Malfoy was a student Hagrid had to bring due to commitments, Astoria was the only Slytherin Hagrid purposely invited.

Despite Hagrid’s teaching improving, his evaluation among students being quite good, he still did things whimsically.

Like this time, the field trip lesson was originally an excuse he used to fool Snape, but once he said it out loud, Hagrid suddenly thought it was a great idea, and simply made it official.

But students able to participate in this lesson, regardless of their grades or typical behavior, were solely Hagrid’s favorites.

Of course, low year students like Rolf and Astoria had yet to start Care of Magical Creatures Lessons, it’s merely because they forged age and house transcending friendships during maze activities that they received invitations.

By four o’clock sharp, there were already twenty to thirty students gathered around Hagrid’s hut.

”Great, everyone’s here.”

Hagrid took out a copper bell, shaking it, and said gruffly, ”I think most students have heard, this time we’re going inside the Forbidden Forest to visit Nobeta...”

”Oh, Nobeta is the Fire Dragon that used to stay at school for a while, I think senior students should still remember.”

”Of course, this trip will certainly have risks, but as long as you don’t wander off, stay close to Fang and me, I assure any creatures in the Forbidden Forest won’t harm you...”
