Apocalyptic Disaster: I Hoard Billions in Supplies and Kill the Saint

184: Chapter 184 ConscriptionTianlang Mountain, Outer East Sentry Post.

Three military transport trucks drove into the base’s outer buffer zone.

The vehicles were heavy, their paint still sporting government-standard camouflage, but the flags mounted on the hoods weren’t government flags. Instead, they were wartime temporary deployment signal flags, code-named: [Crimson Glow Team A].

Standing on the sentry platform, Lin Xiao took one look at the flags, and his expression changed instantly.

”They’re here... This is a formal ’wartime deployment’.”

”This isn’t a simple inspection; it’s a ’requisition order’.”

Shen Qingyan paused upon hearing this, a trace of coldness flickering in her eyes.

”Requisitioning whom?”

”Our people? Or our... space ability user?”

Three officers entered the Tianlang Mountain reception room. The leader, a man in his early forties wearing a dark gray military coat, introduced himself.

”Qin Zhuoran, National System · Emergency Combat Liaison Group · Third Allocation Military Command.”

”We haven’t come here to discuss cooperation.”

”Instead, in accordance with Article 61 of the Federal Wartime Regulations, we are issuing a Level 1 Emergency Mobilization Notice.”

”The subject of the order is Ye Nanxing, the space-type ability user of Tianlang Mountain, and the main supply system under her jurisdiction.”

He paused, looking calmly at Ye Nanxing.

”We need you to support the Western Mountain Range Refugee Migration Line.”

”One month of supplies for the survival of three thousand people.”

”Otherwise, the westward migration route will collapse.”

The meeting room fell into a dead silence.

Zhao Wei’s gaze turned cold instantly. ”...To put it bluntly, you want us to be your supply warehouse.”

Zhang Tianjin glared. ”You’re using the banner of saving lives to hollow out our rear?”

This time, Ye Nanxing showed neither anger nor refusal.

She simply stood up slowly, walked to the center of the room, and looked at Qin Zhuoran.

She spoke flatly.

”If it’s truly to save lives, I’ll give.”

”Not just food, but lives—that’s what I’ve been doing since the first day of the Apocalypse.”

”But if your ’saving lives’ is just a way to take away the bargaining chips I traded my life for—then I’m sorry.”

”I will not be a requisitioned warehouse.”

”Nor will I be used as a ’civilian patch’ to cover up your system’s flaws.”

Qin Zhuoran’s expression remained unchanged. ”This is not a request; it is an order.”

No sooner had he finished speaking.

The next second—

[Main Control Center · Communication Screen Closed]

Lin Xiao decisively entered the code. The base’s core communication hub shut down all external interfaces and disconnected all remote government node links.

Shen Qingyan immediately began her deployment.

”Jamming team, lock frequencies! Cut power to all unmanned reconnaissance equipment; terminate signals.”

”Switch storage areas to private protocol encryption. Close all system channels for the Space Anchor Points.”

”Logistics, combat readiness, food, and energy chains are switching to ’Inner Ring Mode.’ No further external transfer requests will be accepted.”

Within seconds, the entire Tianlang Mountain Base switched from an ”open negotiation” state to a martial law, closed-link mode.

[Alarm Alert]

[Status Switch Complete: Currently in High Alert. External data: Outgoing only, no incoming.]

Qin Zhuoran’s pupils constricted as he looked at Ye Nanxing.

She simply extended her right hand, palm slightly open.

A pulsing fire core slowly floated up. Golden-red spiritual flames coiled around her fingertips like a fire beast crouching in her palm, ready to leap up and devour everything at any moment.

”If you dare to conscript me by force...”

”...I’ll burn your entire transport line to the ground.”

”I’m not threatening you.”

”I’m telling you—”

”This is the first time ’you’ have encountered a ’civilian system’ that has no intention of handing over its lifeblood.”

The back door of the meeting room pushed open, and Chu Yunting stepped inside, his voice steady.

”The outer perimeter has entered Yellow Alert.”

”All combat duty members are returning to their positions. The temporary combat ports have been connected to independent blocks.”

”Just say the word, and within five minutes, we can have all of Tianlang Mountain cut off every external resource flow and operate entirely independently.”

”It won’t be you ’blockading’ us.”

”It will be us... actively withdrawing from the ’Order System’.”

She looked at the government group and spoke coldly.

”From this moment on, all systems of the Tianlang Mountain Base refuse any form of forced intervention.”

”We are not rebelling.”

”We are a self-preservation organization resisting technological enslavement.”

”You use regulations.”

”What we defend is the bottom line for survival.”

At this moment, the sky above Tianlang Mountain remained a clear azure.

But inside the meeting room, the silence was as oppressive as a volcano on the verge of erupting.

”Are you ready?” Ye Nanxing looked at Qin Zhuoran, her tone steady.

”Are you ready to receive the response of a new order?”

”Or will you continue to use the posture of an old order to collide with a reality that has long since mutated?”

Qin Zhuoran opened his mouth but found himself speechless for a moment.

Because he knew—

This woman and this base truly dared to do it.

[Tianlang Mountain Public Statement]

This base refuses to cooperate with any forced deployment that has not been reviewed by a civilian agreement.

As of today, Tianlang Mountain is classified as an independent Survival Self-Management System, retaining the right to joint collaboration but possessing the power of veto.

Any act violating the sovereignty of Tianlang Mountain will be regarded as the destruction of the remaining order of all humanity—

We do not follow the path of the upper echelons.

The wind has changed.

This wasn’t an ordinary heatwave. It was a scorching wind pressure, carrying the scent of grit and scorched earth, sounding like fire groaning underground, slowly approaching the foot of Tianlang Mountain from afar.

It was as if the heat of the entire world had been gathered into an invisible blade, slowly but firmly carving away at humanity’s last refuge.

”The air pressure has dropped by 0.6; the thermal layer is unstable.”

Shen Qingyan’s fingers tapped incessantly on the console, her expression more solemn than ever.

”The wind direction has reversed, carrying hot dust particles—it’s a ’Laminar Heat Surge.’ If we don’t handle it, the communication systems will be affected within twelve hours.”

Standing before the surveillance projection, Lin Xiao’s hawk-like eyes locked onto the faint red dots marking the perimeter.

”The government drones... are back.”

He zoomed in. Those silver-gray reconnaissance planes hovering high in the sky remained stationary, neither advancing nor retreating, like a flock of falcons ready to pounce but never showing their talons.

”They aren’t approaching the main frequency communication zone, but... they’re attempting to encircle us.”

”It looks like a ’blockade posture’.”

”They aren’t attacking.” Zhao Wei stood atop the southwest sentry tower, leaning against the metal railing with his rifle in his arms. Sweat dripped from his forehead, but he didn’t wipe it away.

”And they aren’t withdrawing, either.”

He gazed at the faint lights on the horizon, his tone cold.

”Like a bunch of addicts at a gambling table, watching to see what cards we’re holding. They don’t dare show their hand, but they won’t leave the table.”

”They want to gamble.”

”Gamble on whether or not we’re just bluffing.”

”Gamble on whether we can actually withstand this ’Heat Collapse Tide’.”

In the cafeteria hall, the fans spun slowly. Combat duty members from the morning shift gathered by the water purification lines, each of them silent, as if even their breathing had become lighter.

Inside the combat readiness hall, the temperature indicators in the backup power area hovered near the alarm line.

In the water storage well area, the evaporation rate data was breaking historical records every hour.

And high above, there were no clouds.

There was only that eerie, grayish-red sky, like the hot blood spat out by the parched earth.
