Apocalyptic Disaster: I Hoard Billions in Supplies and Kill the Saint

160: Chapter 160 Beneath the Black Hole”Understood.”

She whispered, then closed her eyes.

Focusing her mind, she mobilized the entire spatial core.

The next second!

The spatial water storage pit began to expand!

The entire ”water storage lake” vibrated slightly, as if an earthquake were occurring!

With Ye Nanxing’s mental field as the center, the spatial core expanded. The bottom of the water instantly ”collapsed downward,” like an inverted volcanic crater, and the depth increased by nearly a hundred meters in an instant!

Subsequently, the outer edges also began to push laterally, expanding by nearly thirty mu!

The water level dropped sharply, returning to an ”absorbable” state.

”You can continue pumping.”

Ye Nanxing stood up, her voice transmitting calmly back to the communication channel.

”The water pit has been deepened, and the anchor point has been restored.”

Hearing this, Lin Xiao’s brows relaxed slightly, and he replied concisely:

”Received.”

”Continue operations.”

Zhao Wei, standing to the side and rolling up his sleeves, heard it clearly: ”She just... moved her mind and created a lake?”

Shen Qingyan looked at the water volume curve that had recovered on the system and took a deep breath:

”This base leader of ours...”

”...is no longer just ’using her ability’.”

”She is ’guiding a world’.”

And inside the space—

The originally deep blue water lake was now bottomless.

The spiritual spring slowly swirled within it, like a star breathing in a newborn world.

Ye Nanxing opened her eyes, her gaze like a mirror:

”Come on.”

”However much you pump, I will provide.”

”No matter how hot this world gets, don’t let us—die of thirst.”

The water pumping operation had been ongoing for twenty days, and the total running time of the main pump had exceeded two hundred hours.

Not far from the backup wellhead on the east side of the base, there was a sudden, loud noise from the mountain!

”Rumble—!!”

It was as if something had been suddenly hollowed out from underground. Immediately after, a large area of soil collapsed, and the rising dust, mixed with gravel, shot straight into the sky.

Zhao Wei, who was guarding the backup pump at the time, still had one hand on the pump pressure valve. Startled by the loud noise, he jumped and instinctively rushed forward.

He saw that the originally flat construction area now had a deep pit like a black hole, with the surrounding soil still slowly sliding down and gravel rolling in.

It was a vertical opening nearly two meters wide, with flared edges, as if the ground had been torn open by a giant beast.

”Damn—”

Zhao Wei frowned: ”Something’s not right. This isn’t surface subsidence... It’s like it was already hollow underneath.”

What made his expression even more serious was the sound of water coming from that black hole.

It wasn’t surface water; it was a deep underground current.

He immediately activated the communication channel: ”Captain Lin, there’s a cave-in behind the mountain. There’s water sound, suspected underground river.”

Lin Xiao replied quickly: ”Send the location, do not get close, notify Captain Ye.”

Within twenty minutes, a temporary field command post was set up.

Lin Xiao was responsible for coordinating safety around the wellhead, sealing off non-essential personnel, and bringing in geological instruments and unmanned detection equipment.

Shen Qingyan immediately brought detection equipment and basic biological sensors, preparing to determine if there were any pollution sources or pathogens.

And Ye Nanxing—

Upon receiving the news, she immediately put on a simple tactical suit, equipped efficiently: temperature-regulating combat suit, triple-protection hood, night vision goggles, anti-toxic filter, waist-mounted power generator pack, main rope + carabiner + tactical dagger.

As she tightened her safety rope, she looked at the dark cave entrance, her brows slightly furrowed.

”I’m going down.”

When Ye Nanxing finished speaking, the surroundings instantly fell silent.

Zhao Wei was the first to react and immediately said, ”I’m going with you.”

”You’re bulkier than me; what if you get stuck in the opening?” Ye Nanxing said in a calm tone.

Zhao Wei: ”...” (Almost forgot.)

Shen Qingyan put down the detector in her hand and said seriously: ”You’re going down alone? You are the backbone of the base; no one should let you take this risk alone.”

Chu Yunting frowned: ”I’ll go with you.”

Yan did not speak. Ever since breaking the brass badge of Luo Dechuan’s base last time, he seemed to have matured in an instant. At this moment, he just walked forward slowly, gently handing his temperature-regulating cloak to Ye Nanxing, his tone calm:

”I’ll wait at the cave entrance for your response.”

Shen Qingyan immediately shook her head: ”Wait for what response? No matter how many people, there must be at least a three-person team consisting of a medic, a data recorder, and a combatant. She cannot go down alone!”

”This isn’t a combat mission, it’s an initial exploration—” Ye Nanxing still wanted to explain.

Lin Xiao spoke in a deep voice, with an unquestionable tone: ”Even if it’s just an exploration, it’s an unknown terrain. A minimum of a three-person team is base protocol.”

Zhao Wei nodded: ”You can’t go without even a recorder, right? If you fall in, who will report back to us?”

Facing the almost ”united siege” of opposition from everyone, Ye Nanxing finally stopped insisting.

”Fine.” She took a deep breath and scanned the group.

”Chu Yunting, Zhao Wei, and I will go down.”

”Zhou Cheng will stay on the surface to receive signals and act as the main control dispatcher.”

”Everyone else, stand by.”

Chu Yunting fastened his main rope and said directly: ”I’ll go first.”

Zhao Wei quickly checked his safety buckle: ”I’ll go last, to cover the rear.”

Zhou Cheng held the communication board and stepped back with a wry smile: ”Okay, I’ll tune in and share all your sensor data in real-time. Location, heart rate, audio, I’ll monitor it all.”

Lin Xiao commanded in a deep voice: ”Everyone attach your backup hoist belts, and keep oxygen detectors on you.”

Shen Qingyan added: ”Signal interruption must not exceed 15 seconds. If it does, we’ll pull the rope automatically!”

Yan stood at the edge of the cave entrance, quietly watching Ye Nanxing, and spoke in a low voice:

”This isn’t just your business alone.”

Ye Nanxing paused, then finally replied softly: ”I know.”

”This time, I’m taking you all with me.”

After speaking, she stood in front of the cave entrance, took a deep breath, grabbed the rope, and stepped into the dark abyss.

Chu Yunting followed closely behind.

Zhao Wei packed up the backup lighting equipment and was the last to step into the ropeway. He turned back and gave the people on the ground an ”OK” gesture: ”Wait for our news.”

The three of them slowly descended with the help of lighting equipment, the low sound of flowing water echoing in their ears from the cave walls.

The air became increasingly humid, the rock walls became slipperier the further down they went, and under the light of their headlamps, they could see damp, reflective moss.

The temperature began to drop.

And Ye Nanxing’s ears suddenly caught the distant sound of splashing water.

The main rope slowly hung down, and the three figures, like shadows falling into the center of the earth, slid down the steep cave wall meter by meter.

The rock walls were uneven, and moisture steamed up from the depths, carrying the scent of damp soil that hadn’t circulated for a long time, like a giant beast that had been sleeping for ten thousand years was slowly breathing.

Ye Nanxing descended first, her hands tightly gripping the grappling device, her body in a semi-suspended state. Her temperature-regulating tactical suit clung to her back, and sweat slid down the side of her neck into her collarbone, but it was quickly swallowed by the increasingly low temperature around her.

When they descended to fifty meters, water marks began to appear on the cave walls, as if some liquid was seeping out from the rock crevices, dripping along the rope and wetting the back of her hand.

”It’s wet,” she whispered.

”There’s water vapor below,” Chu Yunting’s voice came from above her, calm and concise.

Zhao Wei was at the very back, the rope buckle clicked: ”Altimeter shows a descent of ninety meters, oxygen concentration is acceptable, continue.”

They were like three taut lines, vertically traversing this deep fissure.

Finally, after descending through a slightly curved sloped passage—

Ye Nanxing’s feet touched solid ground.

”Tap.”

It was stone.

Slippery, slightly soft, like a riverbank rock layer that had been soaked in water for a long time.

She stabilized herself immediately, drew a high-intensity flashlight with her right hand, pressed her thumb down, and a blinding white light exploded, shooting straight ahead.

The light illuminated the bottom of the cave.

—The next moment, she froze.
