Apocalyptic Disaster: I Hoard Billions in Supplies and Kill the Saint

165: Chapter 165 Harvest Mission BeginsAs the convoy approached the central area of the old port, Zhou Cheng immediately pulled up the scan map:

”Zones 5, 7, and 11 are steel-framed warehouses; they have suffered less water damage and are the top priority targets.”

”They contain three main categories of supplies—”

Category A: Emergency food packs (MRE type, high-energy nutrition blocks, compressed protein meat)

Category B: Combat medical kits (disinfectant powder, wound-sealing gel, basic anti-inflammatory drugs)

Category C: Heavy energy components (solar panels, manual generator sets, combat-ready battery cells)

”These were originally the national reserve warehouses prepared for the ’Tenth Year of Extreme Cold Emergency Line’.”

”According to the plan, they were supposed to be relocated to the new inland district by the end of last year... but the Extreme Cold locked down the transport routes ahead of schedule.”

”The government’s airdrop resources were entirely used to transfer people and military grain warehouses; there wasn’t enough time to move these types of heavy infrastructure supplies.”

”And now—”

”The Extreme Heat has arrived.”

”This warehouse is completely abandoned.”

Zhao Wei adjusted the thermal imaging lens, gritting his teeth as he said in a low voice:

”It’s not that they didn’t want to take them.”

”It’s that they couldn’t.”

”At that time, the coastal freeze-up arrived a full fifteen days earlier than predicted.”

”The evacuation was chaotic, and there was simply no time to hoist these ten-ton packaged energy cabinets.”

Chu Yunting replied coldly: ”In other words, these are the ’lifelines’ that were ruthlessly left behind by time and natural disasters.”

”Whoever grabs them now effectively gains another year of survival.”

Zhou Cheng added in a deep voice: ”The Extreme Cold locked the transport, and the Extreme Heat melted the seals. This place has become an island of supplies.”

”But precisely because of that—others don’t dare to come, but we are here.”

”Sister Ye has the space, and we have the team.”

”It just depends on how much we can haul away this time.”

Ye Nanxing said nothing.

She only looked up at the rusty high-rack warehouses.

—She had already begun to unlock the Space Anchor Point.

The harbor wind howled, and heat waves billowed.

The moment Ye Nanxing stepped into Warehouse 5, a strong smell of dampness and corrosion hit her face.

This warehouse had an eight-meter ceiling, steel frames running across it, and neat shelves, though it was already covered in salt corrosion and moss stains.

”High-brightness mode on.”

She swept her tactical flashlight, the heavy beam of light cutting through the gloom.

Metal storage cabinets labeled [National Emergency · Military Ration] stood quietly in rows; although their shells were old, they were intact.

Zhao Wei sighed in the communication channel:

”...If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn’t believe this place could be kept in such good condition.”

”The entire port has fallen, yet this place seems like it was left specifically for you.”

Ye Nanxing didn’t reply; she just walked to the first row of shelves and gently extended her right hand.

As she released her mental energy, a translucent light pattern slowly unfolded in her palm.

The entrance to the space, like a smooth mirror, opened quietly.

[Start Transport].

As she said this softly, the supplies in the warehouse seemed to be pulled by an invisible, immense force; crate by crate, cabinet by cabinet, the food packs, combat medical supplies, and compressed protein blocks turned into streams of light and slowly vanished into the space.

Zhou Cheng reported on the external secondary control channel:

”Warehouse scan synchronized—the space’s intake rate is stable; currently, 24% of the transport is complete.”

”The energy warehouse supplies have not yet triggered abnormal temperature changes; it is expected that Warehouse 3 can be completely cleared.”

On the other side, Chu Yunting, Zhang Tianjin, and Sun Hao were dispersed along the defensive perimeter outside the warehouse.

Weeds grew wildly on the port’s mudflats, the mud was slippery, and broken rails and shattered containers could be seen everywhere.

The sun had risen high, and the air carried a foul smell of marine decay.

”Hiss—there’s movement ahead.” Sun Hao crouched behind a piece of scrap metal, raising his gun to aim.

”Bang!”

A clean, crisp shot; an alienated zombie that had poked its head out in the distance was shot directly in the head and fell to the ground.

Zhang Tianjin, with a chew stick in his mouth, cursed while changing his magazine:

”These dead things are truly persistent.”

”We’re like operating a supermarket over here, while she’s straight-up putting the whole warehouse into her pocket. Who can handle Sister Ye’s style?”

Chu Yunting didn’t take the bait, only looking up at the warehouse sign, which was almost blurred by seawater erosion, and said in a steady tone:

”Haven’t you realized it yet?”

”She’s not just collecting supplies.”

”She is collecting ’the last inventory of civilization’.”

Zhang Tianjin clicked his tongue: ”What are we doing? She’s doing archaeology.”

”Our job right now is basically—holding a shovel and guarding the door for her, so these zombies don’t disturb her while she cleans out the warehouse.”

Sun Hao couldn’t help but laugh, then shot another approaching alienated creature.

”The key is, I’m more than happy to do this job.”

”Before the Apocalypse, if you asked me to protect a girl, I would have quit long ago. But for this Sister, I’m even willing to risk my life to work for her.”

Chu Yunting smiled slightly, his voice low but carrying great weight:

”She is the clearance agent of the Apocalypse.”

”We are the clearers.”

”If they’re supposed to come, let them come; if they stand in the way, destroy them.”

Zhang Tianjin stood up and shook the gun in his hand:

”Alright, then let’s keep clearing.”

”Ensure Captain Ye has no worries.”

Inside the warehouse, it was stiflingly hot, and the humidity was sticky like crawling bugs on her skin. But Ye Nanxing did not pause for a second.

Standing between rows of high shelves, the Space Anchor Point she wore emitted a faint hum; item after item turned into data light points in her vision, ”Whoosh—” being sucked into the space like a streaming light in reverse.

[Category A Emergency Food Packs · Absorbing · Current: 410 → 563 → 721 crates]

[Category B Medical Kits · Scanning and Archiving · Current: 143 → 180 → 221 cabinets]

[Category C Energy Equipment · Heavy Load Complete · Current Total Weight: 4.9 tons → 6.1 tons]

[Special model Solar Energy Concentrator Core (SMP-VII) detected · Establish independent storage unit?]

”Establish,” Ye Nanxing replied in a low voice, her tone as calm as a machine command.

There was no excitement in her eyes, nor any wavering, only absolutely rational calculation:

This crate is ten days’ worth of rations.

This cabinet is twenty lives.

This solar core is seven days of power supply for the base.

Behind her, the space interface gradually expanded to include an exclusive ”Strategic Supplies Classification Zone”:

[Category A Emergency Food Zone]: 16 storage layers divided, automatic preservation in progress.

[Category B Medical Zone]: Constant temperature module established, medical supply sealing rate 100%.

[Category C Energy Zone]: Heavy-duty gravity lock enabled, anti-explosion and anti-corrosion in progress.

At the same time, the vague outline of a ”Resource Synchronization Node” even began to appear at the edge of the spirit spring—the space seemed to be actively identifying the needs for human survival, automatically establishing a ”Life System Support Layer.”

She herself clearly felt:

This space was no longer just ”hers.”

It was already growing towards becoming a ”foundation for civilization’s survival.”

[Three hours later]

Ye Nanxing exhaled softly.

”Warehouse 5—cleared.”

She turned back and looked at another steel-framed warehouse in the distance.

The door of the large warehouse numbered 7 was half-open, rusty, and the ground, soaked by the tide, still had a few dead water rats, but her gaze did not waver.

”Warehouse 7.”

”Continue.”

She did not rest.

Because time waits for no one.

The sun was rising faster and faster.

The tide was slowly rising back.

The sea breeze already carried the scent of salt mist corrosion.

—This was her desperately grasping the ”part that hadn’t rotted yet” before the world decayed.
