Apocalyptic Disaster: I Hoard Billions in Supplies and Kill the Saint

164: Chapter 164 Abandoned Warehouses of Ningzhou Old PortShen Qingyan opened the data pad: ”The surface temperature in this area has reached 56 degrees, and seawater evaporation is severe. Although there are no signs of a tsunami in the short term, the water level is still rising.”

”The window of opportunity is at most two weeks; if we miss it, it will be completely submerged.”

Zhao Wei gasped: ”Going now means weaving through swamps, steam, ruins, and zombies... It’s basically like fishing for goods in a boiling pot.”

Chu Yunting’s gaze was cold and stern: ”But those are goods that ’save lives’.”

”Other bases are grabbing them, so we must act too.”

”Otherwise, in two months, the high temperatures will enter a closed phase, and the whole world will have to rely on stockpiles to survive.”

Ye Nanxing said nothing more.

She reached out and circled an area on the electronic map—[Ningzhou · Coastal Old Port Area · Class A National Reserve Warehouse].

The cursor blinked silently on the screen, like a tactical signal flare about to be ignited.

Her tone was calm, but every word was resonant: ”The target is right here.”

”We are only raiding this one place.”

”We return within seven days; the priorities are [Class A combat readiness supplies + cold chain high-nutrition food + factory-grade fuel + high-temperature resistant equipment].”

”We are not taking a large team this time.”

”Only seven people, a mobile elite force.”

She looked up, surveyed everyone, and called out the names, one by one:

”Zhang Tianjin, you are responsible for melee pathfinding.”

”Zhou Cheng, full-process network synchronization and remote equipment control.”

”Sun Hao, responsible for vehicles, communications, and equipment stability in high-temperature environments.”

”Zhao Wei, you bring a set of combat reconnaissance drones to sweep the ruins in advance.”

”Lin Kui, follow up and be responsible for medical and logistics cutting operations.”

She finally looked at Chu Yunting, her tone pausing: ”You... are under my command.”

Chu Yunting raised an eyebrow slightly, did not refuse, and just chuckled coldly: ”Understood, I’ll listen to you.”

Zhou Cheng muttered softly: ”This lineup is enough for an enhanced assault team...”

Ye Nanxing’s tone was calm but firm: ”I don’t seek to grab everything; I only seek precision.”

”This trip is a direct spatial harvest.”

”Having more people is useless; speed is the key.”

”If we miss the timing, this warehouse area will completely sink to the bottom of the sea.”

”Lin Xiao, base defense is handed over to you.”

”Shen Qingyan, you take the lead in organizing the pumping lines, solar spare parts, and a full set of mobile cooling equipment, acting as a forward dispatch for the supply line when necessary.”

”Cold springs, pumping, plant cultivation, and energy supply—none of these can stop.”

”If we lose contact for three days while outside, initiate ’Disaster Preparedness Plan No. 6’—assuming we are wiped out, the base must protect itself.”

Lin Xiao nodded, his gaze like ice: ”Understood.”

Shen Qingyan frowned tightly but gritted her teeth and agreed: ”I will fine-tune every detail.”

Ye Nanxing stood up straight, her palm falling steadily: ”Departure time, 5:00 AM tomorrow.”

”Leave the North Mountain line before dawn.”

The southeast exit of Tianlang Mountain Base.

The night had not yet faded, the sky was low and ink-black, but the heatwaves were still rolling endlessly.

Six people, one modified armored pickup truck, the engine roaring.

The front of the truck was covered with military heat-shielding mesh, and the roof was equipped with solar panels and automatic umbrella wings, allowing it to charge slowly while driving.

Ye Nanxing sat in the passenger seat, holding the holographic map, and gave the order in a deep voice:

”Take the south route through the temperature avoidance zone, and turn onto the D13 main road.”

”Target—Ningzhou Abandoned Port.”

”Estimated arrival time, 47 hours.”

”Mission code name: Sinking Harvest.”

The further south they went, the less the world looked like a place ”inhabitable by the living.”

The soil was scorched, the buildings in the distance were dilapidated, and some streets had been completely flooded by seawater, forming saltwater depressions.

Trees had died in swathes, some even cracking into fossil-like hollow shells; the grass was scorched yellow, and when the wind blew, only a rustling sound remained.

Sun Hao, in the driver’s seat, couldn’t help but click his tongue: ”...This really is a ’sea level rise’ version of world ruins.”

Zhao Wei released a small reconnaissance drone from the back of the truck, and the footage was transmitted synchronously:

”One-third of the Ningzhou outer port area has already been submerged, but the upper structure of the warehouse can still be seen.”

”However, there’s no guarantee whether there will be variants underwater.”

Chu Yunting’s eyes were calm: ”This place used to be a Class A national combat readiness warehouse, with a reserve of over 500,000 tons.”

”If we can salvage even ten percent, it will be enough for the base to eat for two years.”

When driving to the old S218 abandoned intersection, Zhao Wei suddenly gave a low shout:

”There is a heat source reaction in the building ahead.”

”It’s not human—the skin is cracked, and the body temperature is close to the surface steam layer.”

”...It’s a heat-mutated zombie.”

In the footage, a zombie that had clearly peeled from sunburn was slowly crawling by a puddle; its body was cracked and blackened, but its throat was still emitting a low wheeze.

And right behind it, more corpses were curled up under a collapsed bus.

”Damn it, these heat zombies came here to avoid the light...”

Zhang Tianjin drew his short knife: ”Should we clear them?”

Ye Nanxing said only one thing: ”No.”

”Go around.”

”There’s no need to waste energy.”

Chu Yunting nodded: ”Right, the goal is not combat; it’s harvesting.”

”Charge into the warehouse in one go, seal the route, and then clear them.”

Sun Hao slammed on the gas pedal, and the vehicle roared as it detoured.

Even the group of zombies on the ground, because the first ray of golden light appeared on the horizon from the ”sun,” collectively shrank into the shadows.

Forty-seven hours later.

A modified tactical pickup truck drove from the cracked, abandoned highway into the southeast coastal area.

The vehicle body was covered in sand, dust, and high-temperature scorch marks, but the six figures were still sitting steadily inside the car, their gazes like blades.

On this journey, they did not stop at all.

Eating, resting, and maintaining vigilance were all completed in the car.

If not for Ye Nanxing’s spatial support, which provided a continuous supply of food, ice water, temperature-controlled drinks, and energy-preserving nutrient pills, they would not have been able to make it this far.

Zhang Tianjin bit into compressed beef jerky and sighed: ”I finally understand, this job is not called a ’mission’.”

”This is... an extreme raid-style resource hunt.”

Sun Hao rolled his eyes: ”It’s just that this time... we are running the whole map with a cheat code.”

Zhao Wei patted his gun and said softly: ”Cheats are cheats, but we still have to move our own legs.”

Chu Yunting looked at the highlighted coastline marker on the dashboard in front of him, his tone as steady as ever: ”Three more kilometers—we arrive at the Ningzhou Abandoned Port.”

”Everyone, prepare your cooling suits and switch to ventilation masks.”

Zhou Cheng organized the drones and added: ”Detection channel, air pressure channel, and heat reaction are all turned on. There may be high-temperature variants in the coastal urban area.”

Ye Nanxing sat in the passenger seat, her gaze fixed, and said faintly: ”After we get close, do not get out of the car.”

”I will scout the first section.”

The convoy slowly drove into the outskirts of the Ningzhou Old Port.

The scene before them caused everyone to fall into a brief silence.

The once million-population coastal metropolis had now—completely turned into a ”water-soaked ruin.”

One-third of the urban area had been swallowed by seawater; in the area where high-rises once stood, only ruins remained above the water, with buildings tilted and glass shattered, looking like giant beasts of scrap steel that had been sliced open.

The streets were long empty; anything that could be moved had been looted, and anyone who could leave had been relocated, leaving behind only large-scale supplies, raw materials, semi-assembled equipment that couldn’t be transported, and...—the neglected national reserve warehouses.

This was the target of their trip.
