Emperor’s Domination

“You are so sure that you deserve death.” Li Qiye chuckled.

“Not quite, but since you are sure of what you’re doing, I have to die.” The old man said.

“So you won’t change your path?” Li Qiye stroked his chin.

“Sir, I don’t think there is a better path.” He sighed.

“The calamity is coming, the high heaven’s destruction, is this the right path?” Li Qiye asked.

“I’ve contemplated and derived many scenarios. The high heaven is not selfish, it is maintaining its original pursuit just like you are.” He said.

“Yes, with the innocence of a child.” Li Qiye nodded: “But there is a massive flaw.”

“Right, yet it is still the best path.” He said.

“My fate is mine, not the heaven’s. This is what the people scream.” Li Qiye said.

“They have made their choices.” He said solemnly.

“That’s what the immortals think.” Li Qiye said.

“It is the truth.” He said.

“Did everyone here choose to follow the golden laws? Was there another option?” Li Qiye asked.

“Then why did you give permission for someone else to take over Golden?” He answered with a question.

“Is Golden the only possible law for this world?” Li Qiye asked.

“Is that not right?” He was confident.

“It is only one law. Living beings can choose it or abandon it.” Li Qiye said.

“Then in the end, you still wish to break the beauty of this place.” He sighed.

“No, I am merely giving the choice back to the living beings. Plus, your golden law isn’t as wonderful as you make it out to be, there is a big flaw.” Li Qiye said.

“If they know the right choice to make, they wouldn’t fall into darkness.” He shook his head.

“I do not deny that your golden law is very balanced and has contributed greatly to the world. However, this choice you speak of does not exist.” Li Qiye said: “It’s not that living beings fall into the darkness, it is immortals opening the darkness that makes the fall possible.”

“That is why the high heaven should exist, it helps everything reach a perfect state.” He pointed at the sky.

“Perfect in your eyes and imposed upon others.” Li Qiye shook his head.

“This is as perfect as it can be. Sure, my golden law has a flaw and it needs the high heaven to restrain it.” He said.

“The living beings can control their own fate, give it back to them.” Li Qiye smiled.

“Then it will become a world of devils, doomed to be barren.” He said.

“This is the arrogance of immortals speaking. All other living beings are either to be stomped or saved. Devils are the other side of immortals, they are the ones who drain worlds.” Li Qiye said.

“If you believe so, why did you destroy the primordials?” He asked.

“Because they are not living beings, neither are immortals.” Li Qiye smiled.

“Then you will erase everything you do not like and become the savior?” He asked.

“No, I will return this world to them. They don’t need me to save them, nor are they worthy.” Li Qiye said.

“Your conviction is why I must die.” He sighed: “And you’re right about the flaw.”

Having said that, he took out a golden scale capable of measuring everything.

“Sir, you must fix it with your power.” He handed the scale to Li Qiye.

“Looks like you know about the flaw.” Li Qiye said.

“Yes, no one can be above it but my fortune is limited and I cannot reach that height. You can.” He said.

“I can.” Li Qiye said while staring at the scale.

“Will it be able to balance you?” He asked.

“Why should I let it reach that level?” Li Qiye smirked.

“It’s karma you must repay. Of course, I believe you can jump out of this karma without repaying. Everything you’ve done is most likely a predetermined passage.” He said.

“Although your cultivation is not comparable to Hidden Immortal and the others, your enlightenment far exceeds theirs.” Li Qiye said.

“So it is true.” He became startled after receiving an answer.

After a long while, he asked: “Am I overestimating myself?”

“If you know that you are, why do you insist on trying?” Li Qiye asked.

“Because I share the same belief as you do.” He said: “To try while knowing it cannot be done.”

“You’re making this difficult for me, this is essentially making a prison for myself.” Li Qiye said.

“Then you can just kill me right now, all of this won’t happen then.” He smiled.

“No, I will let the future unravels normally. You will not die unless it is deserved.” Li Qiye said.

“It appears you have reach a height beyond my ability.” He said sentimentally.

“Yet you still won’t change your path.” Li Qiye said.
