The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

When Song Ci arrived at Yuqing Pavilion, the courtyard was filled with a festive and joyful atmosphere. After learning of Song Ci’s arrival, Guan Shuyan supported herself with the hand of a maid and came to greet her.

”Grandmother, you have come too.”

Guan Shuyan had given birth to two children and was pregnant with another one. Her figure was slightly fuller than before, yet her complexion was rosy, her brows were gentle, and she appeared very much like a blissful young woman.

”I have nothing to do, so I came to check on the Fu family. You are pregnant too; don’t overexert yourself.” Song Ci patted the hand she extended.

In these recent years, Song Zhiyuan wanted Song Ci to train an impeccable and gracious Lady, so Guan Shuyan spent a lot of time with Song Ci. Their relationship, just like genuine grandmother and granddaughter, was very harmonious.

Guan Shuyan touched her still not showing belly and said with a smile, ”This child is well-behaved, far more so than Brother Yuan, not at all troublesome.”

The Brother Yuan she mentioned was naturally her and Song Lingsu’s legitimate eldest son. In their generation, they bore the ”Jing” character, named with the ”Yu” character by Song Zhiyuan. His full name was Song Jingyu, and now he was four years old, personally enlightened and taught by Song Zhiyuan. Incredibly smart and astute, even those Scholars in the palace praised him for being quite like his paternal grandfather.

”That’s the child caring for you.” Song Ci said with a smile, ”Let’s go inside and see the newborn baby, who does it resemble?”

Guan Shuyan led her inside while saying, ”I have seen already; though their brows and eyes have not fully formed, both the third brother and his wife are good-looking, so these children surely won’t be any less.”

Song Ci indeed thought that the Song Family had good genes. From Song Zhiyuan’s generation on, their appearance was always commendable; none of them grew awkward-looking.

As the two entered the courtyard, Song Lingjie came up to greet them, suppressing his excitement and respectfully bowed to Song Ci, saying, ”Grandmother, the third lady has given birth to twin boy and girl.”

Song Lingjie had an inherently mature disposition, and after marriage, he became even more mature and steady.

”Very good. You married for several years, and now with both a son and daughter, you have fulfilled your wishes.” Song Ci patted his shoulder with a smile, ”Jie’er, now you are also a father, in the future, your shoulders will carry a heavier burden, you must be responsible and protect your wife, children, and family well.”

Song Lingjie straightened his chest and said, ”Grandson shall follow the orders.”

A smile lingered in Song Ci’s eyes.

Looking further, she saw Jiang Shi and Fu Yunjin’s nursemaid, Nanny Cheng, each carrying a swaddled infant out.

”Mother, knowing that you are here, my wife specially brought the two children out to greet you, also to spare you any discomfort from the blood inside.” Jiang Shi, having gained two precious grandchildren, wore a smile as radiant as chrysanthemums.

The two reached Song Ci’s side, showing her each of the tightly wrapped infants, their tiny faces yet smaller than a palm.

The newborn infants were indeed indistinct in resemblance, Song Ci, whose eyes had grown a bit dim, squinted close for a careful look and honestly shook her head, ”Can’t tell who they resemble.”

Jiang Shi laughed and said, ”Once the washing is done, as the redness fades, you will be able to see more clearly.”

Song Ci nodded with a smile, ”The Fu family has worked hard. As a mother-in-law, ensure she rests and comfort her well.”

”Mother, I know, she is indeed the great contributor here, and I have said she should enjoy a two-month recovery period, indulging in all the nutrients and supplements she desires.” Jiang Shi said loftily, ”She doesn’t need to worry about the children; just after feeding the initial milk, everything else will be taken care of by the nurses. She only needs to ensure she nurtures her body well.”

Previously, Song Ci mentioned that feeding a child with the mother’s initial milk would make them healthier. So in the past few years, after the children were born, the mothers would feed the initial milk, and indeed every child was healthy. Everyone strictly adhered to this practice.
