The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

“Stop crying, your son isn’t crying, are you even less than your son?” Niu Pan’er helplessly looked at Song Zhiyu and said, “When your father returns, you can come too.”

Song Zhiyu stubbornly replied, “I just got sand in my eyes, that’s why I shed tears, who’s crying?”

Niu Pan’er smiled gently, “Then I misunderstood you, my dear.”

Song Zhiyu glared at her; his eyes looked like a rabbit’s, filled with moisture, and said, “Don’t expect me to go to the Northeast immediately. You know that my father is seriously injured and needs to rest, he can’t leave, and there’s Shen’er as well.”

He turned his head to look at his son, who was acting mature but frequently sneaking glances at his parents, and said, “Shen’er may be ready for enlightenment, but he’s still young. If you leave, and I also follow, he’ll surely feel upset.”

Mostly, he couldn’t bear to leave himself.

Niu Pan’er felt a bit guilty, and said, “I didn’t think it through enough. As a mother, I haven’t considered as much as you have, as a father.”

Though her son is also close to her, in truth, Song Zhiyu raised him, and he is closer to him.

Seeing her eyes filled with guilt, Song Zhiyu said, “You don’t need to feel guilty. You stay in the barracks a lot; you’re bound not to think of all these trivial domestic affairs.”

“When your father’s health is better, will you come to the Northeast?” Niu Pan’er looked at him with shining eyes full of admiration.

Song Zhiyu felt his ears become slightly warm, and he responded with a hum.

“Commandery Princess, it’s getting late, time to leave.” Yuan Yi came over, cupping his hands to remind.

Niu Pan’er nodded and walked a step closer to Song Zhiyu, saying, “If you feel lonely in an empty room, I permit you to take a concubine.”

Song Zhiyu glared at her angrily, “The Song Family’s rules state that a man can only take a concubine if he’s forty and childless. Even though I’ve joined the Prince Mansion, I’m still a Song family member. Do you want me to ignore the family rules?”

That shameless woman, advising him to take a concubine, pretends to be generous, humph!

“If you want to leave, just leave. Don’t talk nonsense here.”

He went over and picked up his son in one swift motion.

Niu Pan’er, eyes filled with laughter, followed along. Regardless of the guards present, she opened her arms and embraced both of them, her face smiling, but her tone was choked with tears, “I really can’t bear to leave you, but I must go.”

She released them, turned, and walked towards the sweating blood horse, glanced back at the two, and swiftly mounted the horse.

“Mother, take care!” Niu Honghong shouted loudly, though tears welled up in his eyes once more, waiting to fall.

Song Zhiyu didn’t speak, just stared at the person on the horse’s back, as if he wanted to etch her into his memory.

Niu Pan’er waved her hand at the two, biting her teeth, she spurred the horse forward, a cloud of dust rose behind.

Niu Honghong’s tears finally couldn’t be held back and he cried loudly.

Song Zhiyu felt the same way, but he bit his tongue hard and tightly pressed his lips together, standing there blankly.

For quite a while, until the horse was out of sight, Niu Honghong sniffled and said, “Dad, mom’s gone, let’s go back to the mansion.”

Song Zhiyu said nothing.

Niu Honghong looked at him and said, “Dad, every journey ends in saying goodbye, do you plan to stand here until nightfall? Standing here till it’s dark won’t make mom stay.”

Song Zhiyu turned his head, grinding his teeth, said, “It’s not that your father wants to stand here eating dust, my leg is numb.”

Niu Honghong: “…”

He was about to speak, but heard the urgent sound of horse hooves coming from behind. The father and son turned to look, it was people from the Prime Minister’s Mansion.

“Fourth Master, Princely Heir, quickly return to the Prime Minister’s Mansion, the old madam has fainted!”

Their faces changed dramatically in an instant.
