The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Upon learning that Niu Pan’er was returning to the Northeast, everyone from Song Ci to the younger generations was shocked.

It was simply too sudden, leaving without any buffer.

Madam Jiang’s eyes immediately reddened, feeling very reluctant.

If Prince Dingbei returns to the capital with honor, Niu Pan’er must remain in the Northeast until Niu Honghong arrives, or even longer, meaning that the sisters-in-law will not know when they will meet again in the future.

Niu Pan’er herself also felt reluctant, but the Emperor’s orders were such, and the situation demanded it, she could not disobey.

Originally it was a joyful day, but suddenly came such news, everyone’s spirits were rather low, and the atmosphere at Chunhui Hall could only be described as somber.

It was Song Ci who was the first to regain composure, pretending to be cheerful as he said, “All right, don’t put on such a difficult-to-part expression, they say today’s farewell is for tomorrow’s reunion, and they’re not gone forever, there will always be days to meet again.”

Niu Pan’er also smiled and said, “Yes, sisters, don’t be like this, we can still often correspond, not to mention our family also does business with the Northeast, there will always be communication lines.”

Madam Song said, “That’s true, but it feels quite sudden.”

Niu Pan’er smiled without speaking.

Song Ci then said, “Even the Emperor has spoken, let her set off tomorrow. Madam Gu, since today is my birthday, and everyone’s still here, have the main kitchen prepare two tables of good dishes, tonight let’s have a small family feast, no tipsy no return, consider it a send-off for Pan’er.”

Madam Song nodded in agreement.

Guan Shuyan said, “Mother has worked hard all day, you should rest and talk with Aunt, I’ll go arrange things?”

Today was her trial run, as taught by her own mother, although there were small flaws, there were no major mistakes, and this achievement as a new wife could be submitted as a beautiful answer sheet.

Madam Song then said, “Then instruct the kitchen to make a dish of pine nut fish, your aunt likes this flavor.”

Niu Pan’er was moved, saying, “It’s hard for Big Sister-in-law to remember my preferences.”

Guan Shuyan took the order and hurried down, although the feast was not large, she hardly stopped, busy again, with everyone around her accompanying her.

Song Ci intended for Niu Pan’er to say a few more words, so he had Madam Song and the others go to rest, then called Niu Pan’er to his side.

Niu Pan’er sat next to Song Ci, looking at her with a face full of affection, holding her hand, she said, “Mother, truly I am unfilial. Since my marriage to Yulang, I have either been at Prince Mansion or in the military camp, rarely serving by your side, truly unfilial.”

Song Ci patted her hand, smiling as she said, “Your status differs from your sisters-in-law, you carry great responsibility, how can you waste time in the rear courtyard, naturally striving for national glory is most important.”

Niu Pan’er leaned her head on her shoulder, saying, “In this family, I am willing to abide, and am willing to honor you as my own mother, because you are worthy.”

Not to mention her magnanimity and grace, just her willingness to offer Song Zhiyu as a son-in-law is enough.

Having a mother-like mother-in-law, how fortunate she is!

“You hold me, this old lady, dear in your heart, it is enough. Being able to be a family is destiny given by Heaven, a blessing.” Song Ci said, “Pan’er, you too are worthy of my love.”

Niu Pan’er’s eyes blinked, and tears fell.
