The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

The grabbing ceremony was held in the flower hall of Chunhui Hall, and due to the especially hot weather, Brother Dan appeared in short red flower silk clothes and shorts, revealing his chubby, fair hands and feet adorned with silver bracelets, making his skin even whiter and his exquisitely carved features extremely lovable and adorable.

The grabbing ceremony marked his first birthday, and as Song Zhiyuan’s youngest son, raised in the courtyard by Song Ci, his status was naturally prestigious. Besides Princess Anping and other outsiders, all the relatives in the manor attended, including the very busy Song Zhiyuan.

The long table was covered with red silk, and countless small objects were placed upon it—Four Treasures of the Study, gold and silver jewelry, treasure swords and bows, ancient books and curios. Everyone joined in with their important items, and Song Zhiyuan put down his official seal.

Song Ci took a glance, his eyes flickering slightly as he thought for a moment, then instructed Nanny Gong to fetch something.

Nanny Gong quickly came and went, handing the item to Song Ci, who placed it on the table.

The crowd fixed their eyes on it in surprise.

Angelica Root, dried tangerine?

Song Zhiyuan raised his eyebrows and looked at Song Ci.

Song Ci smiled slightly, personally picking up Brother Dan and placing him on the table, speaking warmly, ”Brother Dan, go pick your favorite and give it to your grandmother.”

Brother Dan blinked his bright eyes, making everyone’s hearts melt. Song Ci couldn’t help but kiss his forehead, pat him gently on his little bottom, and said, ”Go ahead.”

Sitting on the table, Brother Dan looked around but didn’t move, and the crowd, eager to join in the fun, began enticing him with various treasures. Yuanyuan and Song Zhiyu’s loud voice stood out the most, having brought back Niu Honghong. One held a favorite gold-inlaid jade bracelet, the other a small wooden sword, shouting loudly.

”Little brother, come to Fourth Sister, let me put it on for you.” Yuanyuan grasped the bracelet, itching to go over herself. She was a little over two years old, articulate like a little sparrow.

Niu Honghong, a year and a half old, looked especially smart and sturdy, appearing about the same age as Yuanyuan, raised his sword high, ”Brother, come to me.”

Everyone laughed heartily, watching Brother Dan to see how he would choose.

But Brother Dan merely glanced at them, slowly moving forward, picking up things at random and handing them back.

Everyone was amazed at his choice; he picked the items that each person had put down—returning them all.

”This child has such a good memory; he remembers who put what down. It seems he’s returning things to us as they were.” Princess Anping’s eyes sparkled as she watched Brother Dan.

Madam Wei likewise approached Song Ci, smiling like a joyful Buddha, ”Dear sister, I have a little great-granddaughter, born as lovely as jade, shall we arrange a betrothal?”

Song Ci: ”...”

Song Zhiyuan felt a little emotional inside, waiting until his son gave the official seal back to him, he resisted his urge to lift him up in excitement.

The grabbing ceremony had unexpectedly revealed this child’s excellent memory—good, very good indeed.

Brother Dan moved steadily forward to the dried tangerine and Angelica Root placed on the side, grabbing one in each hand, smiling sweetly at Song Ci, ”Angelica Root, dried tangerine.”

Song Ci’s face was smiling, yet inside he was almost in tears.

Medicines, could it be that Buhui the old bald man was right? Her little brother was truly destined to become a doctor? This child seemed particularly fond of medicinal herbs!
