The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Regarding the analysis of Chu Ze, Shang Meinang was speechless. She also knew that what the other party said hit the core, otherwise why would she and Dong Da betray and join him?

Shang Meinang was about to say something when a eunuch silently entered the door and respectfully announced, ”Reporting to the Commandery Prince, the Dowager and Princess have arrived.”

Chu Ze frowned.

Shang Meinang’s gaze darkened slightly, but she advised, ”My lord, avoiding them like this is not a solution. Since you have returned to this mansion, you must face everything sooner or later.”

Chu Ze remained silent.

Ever since Emperor Chu confined him in this Prince Mansion, he only stayed in the warmest chamber and ignored everything else, quietly waiting for death to come.

But as he moved in, Princess Consort Ji came every day to report. He mostly refused to see her, causing her immense sorrow, nearly triggering another stroke. However, due to emotional agitation, the maternal gu was activated, and now, both mother and son suffered stabbing pains.

This time, when the maternal gu was activated, it forced Princess Consort Ji to control herself. She even started eating vegetarian and chanting Buddhist scriptures, getting the maid to recite daily, trying to keep her mood calm and stable, to prevent another attack and not implicate her son.

At present, she seemed to be feeling better and came again.

Chu Ze put down the brush he was using to paint, calmly washed his hands in the basin, took the cotton handkerchief handed by Shang Meinang to dry them, and said to the eunuch, ”Invite the Dowager in.”

Outside the courtyard, hearing Chu Ze agree to the meeting, Princess Consort Ji was so overjoyed she couldn’t find her bearings, and quickly asked someone to help her walk inside. Prince Min’s wife followed behind with some helplessness.

She didn’t understand why Princess Consort Ji had to drag her along when meeting her son; wasn’t it awkward?

Princess Consort Ji entered the warm chamber and saw Chu Ze in a moon-white robe standing with hands behind his back inside the room. She couldn’t help but feel a bit emotional, ”Ze’er, you finally agreed to see Consort.”

She stepped forward quickly, carefully examining him. He seemed to have become thinner.

Chu Ze took a step back, glanced at her, and then looked at Prince Min’s wife behind her and nodded slightly as their gazes met.

She was also a pitiable person.

Shang Meinang quietly retreated.

”Why isn’t the Dowager resting in the courtyard? Why come over? What’s the matter?” Chu Ze’s voice was cold.

Princess Consort Ji’s expression dimmed, ”Will you never call me Consort? I still remember when you were little, you used to always hold onto my leg...”

Prince Min’s wife’s gaze toward Chu Ze turned cold, silently thinking how Princess Consort Ji truly lacked conversational skills. Mentioning childhood only made one feel more uneasy, so she stepped forward, holding Princess Consort Ji’s arm, interrupted her, ”Consort, you’ve been standing outside for quite a while. For your health, why not sit down and talk? Prince, please sit as well.”

Princess Consort Ji was furious, glaring at her, wondering, ”Why are you taking over my words?”

Prince Min’s wife gave a barely noticeable shake of her head.

Princess Consort Ji’s heart skipped a beat, realizing something, she looked panicked at Chu Ze, just as she was about to speak, he said, ”No need. You’ve seen me, if there’s nothing else, please leave. I’m not feeling well and need to rest.”

”Ze’er...”

”If the Dowager wishes to reminisce, I fear it won’t be possible. I’ve long forgotten childhood, the only thing I remember is the scene of being kidnapped. Do you wish to hear it?”

Princess Consort Ji’s face turned pale, she staggered, almost falling to the ground.

Seeing this, Chu Ze said, ”Please leave. There’s no need to come anymore, this way we both can be at ease.”

He turned and returned to his chambers.
