The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Princess Consort Ji was quite despondent. It was hard for her to get Chu Ze to agree to see her and speak with her, but as soon as she opened her mouth, the conversation fell flat, and then he turned his cold back on her.

But Princess Consort Ji would never admit her fault. She would only pass the blame onto others, such as the unfortunate Princess Min.

”It’s all your fault. If it weren’t for you blocking my words, how could Ze’er be so angry? You, woman, have a ruthless heart and can’t stand to see us mother and son getting along well. You deliberately want us mother and son to be at odds. How could your heart be so black? Is it because you’ve eaten too much pig’s blood?”

Princess Min had a moment of realization. This woman dragged her out here, perhaps to find someone to vent her limitless anger?

”Mother Consort, allow me to remind you, you and the Prince have never been harmonious, so there’s no question of discord. Furthermore, talking about his childhood was deliberately evoking the Prince’s sad memories, wasn’t it?”

Princess Consort Ji: ”...”

This reckless Xia woman is practically rebelling and dares to contradict her!

Before she could explode, Princess Min said another sentence: ”In the future, if Mother Consort wants to visit the Prince, it’s best to have Consort Ji accompany you. I have a clumsy mouth and can’t speak well, which might displease Mother Consort!”

Princess Consort Ji’s face turned green.

Was it that she did not want to, but among all the women in the mansion related to Prince Min’s status, apart from this Princess Min in front, all the others had been slept with by the previous imposter.

Now that the real Prince Min has been restored to his rightful position, should she let her son take those second-hand goods?

Dream on!

She would never wrong her Ze’er like that. Those women should either be sent off to a nunnery under her orders or be sold off. For someone like a Concubine, with ranks, who hasn’t been dealt with yet, she still has to seek Empress Dowager Wang’s help to divorce them properly. They can’t hold onto the position of Ze’er’s Concubine.

It is only Princess Min who, from beginning to end, has been an innocent person.

Princess Consort Ji felt frustrated in her heart. Clearly, the fortune-teller told her she was destined for wealth and nobility, wearing silk and eating delicacies, adored by all. How did it not foresee her twilight years would be so bleak?

Thinking of her desolate later years, perhaps she and her son were not long for this world, Princess Consort Ji began to mourn the late Emperor again.

Sooner or later, we mother and son will come to find you.

”Dowager, Princess.” Shang Meiniang curtsied to the two in the courtyard.

Princess Consort Ji sized her up and said, ”Which is your room?”

Shang Meiniang hesitated for a moment and pointed to the room behind her.

Princess Consort Ji walked in: ”Come in, I have something to ask you.”

Shang Meiniang, somewhat surprised, walked in, brought round stools for the two, and served tea, standing respectfully to the side.

Princess Consort Ji looked at her face, unadorned with makeup, which was somewhat different from the shrewd face of the shopkeeper in her memory. Without heavy makeup, this face was more pleasing to the eye.

”I heard you were formerly a spy for the criminal Xia Clan, always beside Ze’er to monitor him?”

Shang Meiniang’s hand trembled, and she kneeled, bowing her head: ”Yes, this servant betrayed the Xia criminal.”

”Since Ze’er allows you to stay by his side, he must trust you. And you, rather than fleeing far away and living under an assumed name, chose to follow him even into imprisonment and remain in this mansion, indicating you have a genuine affection for him?” Princess Consort Ji asked again.

Shang Meiniang said, ”Meiniang holds the young lord as dearly as her own life.”

Princess Consort Ji felt somewhat relieved, and looking at her, suddenly asked: ”Previously, you were always beside Ze’er as his wife? Let me ask you, after all these years, have you two had conjugal relations?”

Pfft.

Princess Min looked speechlessly at Princess Consort Ji, confirming that she was indeed the straightforward Consort!
