My father sold me to the Mafia King

Chapter 145: 145/Meridrith’s Revenge

Chapter 144

Meredith’s Point of View (The Past)

I remained sprawled on that cursed sofa for hours. The scent of his skin and tobacco, mingled with my tears, filled the space and stifled me.

My body shuddered with involuntary jolts, every cell in me screaming from the impact of the violation. When he finally returned and unlocked the restraints on my hands, I didn’t move; I was a corpse inhabited by a shattered soul.

He tossed a few banknotes on the table and said coldly, adjusting his suit jacket: ”Here is your pay... with a small bonus for an enjoyable night.”

He walked out and locked the door behind him, leaving me in my wreckage. In that moment, I didn’t just hate him; I hated Violet. I hated her because she was at her university, studying in peace, while I was here being raped by this animal.

I felt disgusted by myself, by my skin, and by everything that tied me to this world.

I returned home late, clutching my coat tightly over my chest because I was wearing nothing but my torn bra underneath. I entered to a house drowned in a lethal silence; everyone was asleep.

No one noticed my absence, and not a hair stirred on my father or mother, who were in a deep sleep without a worry, as if I were a non-entity. My mother didn’t think for a second to call me as she would have for Violet if she were ten minutes late.

I passed my wretched sister’s room; she was sleeping in calm tranquility, her face relaxed as if the world belonged to her, while I was tearing and bleeding internally.

In my room, I swore before the mirror that I would have my revenge; I would avenge myself against my parents because they never loved me, and against Violet because of her and her so-called brilliance, I had become the sacrifice slaughtered in the dens of vice.

I stepped into the bathroom and scrubbed my skin with a coarse loofah until it almost bled; I wanted to erase his scent, his touch, and his filth. I put on my pajamas, sat on the bed, and pulled out my phone.

I found 20 missed calls from Stuart. I didn’t answer; I had no words for a man waiting for a ”pure” bride while I had become the remains of a woman.

In the morning, my mother barged into my room coldly and said: ”Meredith... didn’t you go to work today?”

I answered in a parched voice, burying my head under the covers: ”I told you yesterday was the last day.”

She replied with resentment: ”Really? And your sick father? Do you expect him to go out and work?”

I snapped upright and screamed: ”Ask your precious daughter Violet to work! Or is she the princess of the house and I’m the maid?”

She gave me a look of pure disdain: ”How can you speak about your sister like that? She’s studying at the university!”

I said, the bitterness burning my throat: ”I was studying too, Mother, but you two forced me to stop!”

She said with a cutting coldness: ”Because you were studying with your father’s money. You weren’t like Violet... she didn’t need our money!”

I lost my mind completely and screamed in a breakdown: ”Because you gave birth to me! You and my father are responsible for my expenses! Just because I’m not a genius like Violet doesn’t mean I don’t deserve to study!”

She replied with words that were like nails in my heart: ”Your head is closed anyway; you don’t even grasp your studies... did you really think you’d succeed in university?”

I froze, feeling the blood drain from my face. ”You’re saying I’m stupid and a fool?”

She said as she turned to leave: ”Don’t start your usual drama, Meredith... this is the truth, accept it.”

I had been the obedient dog for years, doing everything without objection, and now, when I spoke two sentences, I became a ”drama queen.” I shouted, tears burning my cheeks: ”I won’t go! Do you know what happened to me yesterday? Shall I tell you the hell I saw?”

At that moment, Violet appeared at the door with an annoyed expression: ”What’s all this screaming in the morning? I was up all night studying... can’t anyone have some peace?”

My mother turned toward her instantly, her harsh features melting into a sickening tenderness.

She took Violet’s face in her hands and said with a love I had never tasted: ”My dear, beautiful daughter... tiring herself all night and studying hard? Come, darling, I’ll prepare breakfast for you.”

She walked away, holding Violet’s hand, leaving me behind.

She didn’t care about my tears, and she didn’t ask about the ”hell” I was going to tell. In that moment, the old Meredith died, and the woman I am now was born.

A demonic idea took root in my mind a perfect plan to shatter Violet’s life just as mine had been shattered.

I drew a burning breath and headed toward the kitchen. Violet was sitting composedly eating her breakfast, and my mother stood beside her, gazing at her with eyes full of infatuation as if she were looking at the ”Mona Lisa.”

I said in a tone I tried hard to keep steady: ”Violet... can I talk to you for a moment?”

My mother snapped without looking at me: ”Don’t you see your sister is eating her breakfast?”

I said stolidly: ”I’ll wait until she’s finished.”

Violet stood up, wiping her mouth with a paper napkin: ”I’m full.”

My mother grabbed her hand in panic as if she were losing her: ”Little one, you haven’t eaten a thing! Sit and finish your plate, please.”

I watched this scene, nausea hitting my stomach; my mother didn’t even think to ask if I had eaten, or gesture for me to sit.

Violet replied with annoyance: ”Mother, enough... I’m truly full.” She walked toward me and asked coldly: ”Yes, what is it?”

I gestured with my head: ”Follow me to my room.”

We entered the room and I locked the door behind us. I looked at her and asked: ”Violet... you aren’t going to university today, are you?”

She shook her head: ”No, I have no lectures today.”

I said, intertwining my fingers with artificial tension: ”Today I’m going with Stuart to pick the wedding dress... you know my wedding is in two weeks.”

She said formally: ”Yes... do you want me to accompany you?”

My heart nearly exploded with sarcasm; that’s all I needed for her to come and stifle me with her presence even on my dress day. I said quickly: ”No... I want you to take my place at the restaurant today.”

She took a step back, her brows furrowing in disapproval: ”You mean work as a waitress?”

My eyes flared as I attacked her with words: ”Yes! Do you see yourself as above this work? Have you forgotten that I am the one helping with the expenses of this house while you live in comfort?”

Violet frowned, hesitation appearing on her face, then she said with a grumble: ”Fine, Meredith... I’ll do it today only, and I won’t repeat it again.”

I let out a muffled laugh deep inside; finally, the revenge plan was beginning. I would send her to that restaurant so that beast would rape her exactly as he did to me. I would make her taste the bitterness of the desecration I had tasted.

I pulled the second new waitress uniform from the closet and offered it to her, my hand trembling with intense excitement: ”We look exactly alike, Violet... don’t tell him you’re my sister. Just pretend to be me.”

She took the clothes with disgust: ”Fine, Meredith... as you wish.”

I was brought back from those poisonous memories by the sound of the glass shattering under my feet, the drink splashing across the cold floor and soaking the hem of my dress.

My heart began to race along with Stuart’s violent pounding on the door, shouting anxiously: ”Meredith! What happened? Open the door for me immediately!”
