My father sold me to the Mafia King

Chapter 125:

Olivia’s Point of View

I entered Nyara’s room, and as soon as her eyes settled on me, she rushed toward me with a trembling body, gripping my arm with cold fingers while panting: ”Olivia! I died of terror... I thought Mr. Robert would discover the plan!”

I pushed her hand away from me coldly and adjusted my stance, looking at her with a sharp gaze that made her take a step back, and said in a low and reassuring voice: ”Don’t be afraid... I think he was convinced by your words.”

She swallowed with difficulty and intertwined her fingers in agitation, asking: ”But why did you make me give her the drugs?”

My features tensed, and I approached her slowly, saying in a commanding hiss: ”Nyara... knowing this is none of your business!”

I turned and left the room without looking back, leaving her drowning in her confusion. Although I breathed a sigh of relief for closing Nyara’s file, my body remained tense; the ”Miles” problem was still throbbing in my head like an open wound.

I stopped suddenly and leaned my back against the cold wall, closing my eyes tightly trying to think.

How will I give Julie another drug when she is now in her room and under Robert’s surveillance? They will certainly discover my involvement. I felt a bitter lump in my throat and whispered to myself in frustration: ”I don’t know what he likes in that naive girl!”

I opened my eyes, and my gaze tilted toward harshness while I adjusted my shirt collar with a hand trembling from internal boiling. My jaw tensed as I made my decision; I must get rid of Miles as soon as possible. I cannot let this donkey hold me by the throat and threaten me with the loss of everything I have built.

Thomas’s Point of View (Robert’s Father)

As soon as Robert left, I moved the wheelchair with fast wheels toward his desk.

My fingers were trembling slightly as I opened the drawer whose location I knew very well; the files were still in their old hiding place.

I pulled the bundle and began flipping through the papers with a longing I hadn’t felt in years, until ”Ron” entered and said in his hoarse voice: ”Sir, I will help you out of the club.”

I didn’t turn to him; instead, I continued searching until my eyes fell on her picture... ”Julie Michael.” My gaze froze on her printed features, and I quickly memorized the address written at the bottom of the paper. Then I closed the drawer and signaled to Ron that I was ready.

I got into the car and told the driver the address. As soon as we arrived, the driver stepped out to help me knock on the door. The door opened to reveal a man with a long face and green eyes, who asked me suspiciously: ”Yes, sir. Who are you?”

I said with extreme dignity while scrutinizing him: ”Aren’t you going to invite me in?” His eyes moved between my luxurious suit and the car behind me, and the door widened as he said: ”Of course, please.”

I entered the modest house, whose crampedness provoked me. He sat me in the hall and offered me coffee, which I refused. He asked me with anticipation: ”May I know who you are?”

I said in a steady voice: ”I am Thomas Cross.”

His face paled suddenly, and his hand shook over his knee: ”I know Mr. Robert Cross; is he your relative?”

I answered him with stillness: ”He is my son.” Suddenly, his features changed to form a fake, servile smile: ”Oh, sir! Truly, I am honored by your visit, but is there something wrong?”

At that moment, a woman entered... my breath froze in my chest and my hand fell on the armrest of the chair forcefully. She looked exactly like Violet! I knew she had a twin, but the resemblance was terrifying to the point that I felt as if I were seeing a ghost. She said suspiciously: ”Stuart, who is this guest?”

He told her my identity, and she smiled politely, but I interrupted the atmosphere, saying sharply: ”Thank you... now I will get straight to the point.” I tilted my body toward them and said: ”I came regarding your daughter, Julie.”

Stuart’s features froze, and he said with tension: ”What happened?”

I explained my plan to him; I would give him money to buy her from my son and take her back.

But Meredith interrupted me sternly, her fingers clutching together tightly: ”That girl will not return to this house!”

I looked at her in bewilderment: ”Is she not your daughter? Do you not love her?”

She became flustered and averted her gaze: ”It is better for her to stay in that club.”

I flew into a rage and gripped the edge of my wheelchair: ”A daughter you gave birth to and gave life to, and then you abandon her so easily?”

She replied sharply: ”It is none of your business, sir!”

I smiled bitterly and decided to reveal all the cards: ”Now I understand... you are not her mother.”

Meredith gasped and put her hand on her chest as if I had stabbed her: ”What are you saying?”

I followed with cold blood, my eyes piercing hers: ”Does Violet know that you and your husband sold her daughter?”

A suffocating silence prevailed, and Stuart’s jaw dropped in shock. Meredith asked in a trembling voice: ”How do you know my sister Violet? And how did you know Julie is her daughter?”

I closed my eyes for a second, the image of Violet appearing in my mind, then I said in a voice breathless with pain: ”Violet was my lover.”

Meredith put her hand over her mouth, her eyes widening in total shock, and she shouted in a choked voice: ”Were you the one who got her pregnant? Are you Julie’s father?”

I said in a still voice and sharp looks: ”No, I am not Julie’s father.”

Meredith threw her body forward, interlocking her fingers tightly while asking eagerly: ”Do you know who her father is then?”

I nodded slowly and pressed my hand on the armrest of the wheelchair: ”Yes.”

Stuart rushed toward me, sweat appearing on his forehead as he said in a panting voice: ”Who is he? Tell us!”

I looked at them sharply, making the atmosphere increase in tension, and said in a warning tone: ”It is better that you bring that girl back home, because if her father ever finds out about her existence and discovers the truth... he will destroy you.”

Meredith jumped from her place, her face painted with expressions of disgust, and said while waving her hands: ”Violet is just a whore! Because the one she got pregnant from kicked her out and didn’t want to see her, and she left her daughter and ran away without telling us anything... that’s why neither she nor that man can hold us accountable.”

My jaw tightened with anger, and I felt a violent pulse in my neck, so I said through gritted teeth: ”Violet is not a whore.”

Meredith exploded into a mocking and bitter laugh, leaning her body toward me and saying defiantly: ”Truly she isn’t a whore? You were her lover in the past, but she got pregnant from someone else and gave birth to a daughter, and two days ago a young man in his twenties came looking for her because he is her lover! Is this truly not called whoredom?”

I froze in my place, feeling a coldness invading my chest, and I asked in a hoarse voice: ”Who is he? Who was looking for her?”

She shrugged indifferently and said: ”I don’t know him... he came because Julie told him I was Violet, because she doesn’t know I have a twin.”

I said, pressing the arms of the chair forcefully: ”And why didn’t you tell her the truth?”

Stuart replied with indifference: ”We don’t care if she knows the truth or not, because that girl doesn’t matter to us... she is a whore like her mother.”

I couldn’t control myself; I jolted my torso forward and said with an anger that made my voice tremble: ”I think this conversation will not proceed like this... but listen to me, Stuart! Either you go to bring Julie back from the club, or I will destroy you and your wife... do you hear?”

The two were stunned, backing away while looking at me in total bewilderment. I pulled the card from my pocket with a swift movement and threw it on the table sharply, saying sternly: ”This is my number... call me.”

I signaled to the driver, and he pushed my chair out of the house. I got into the car breathing with difficulty, closing my eyes and muttering bitterly: ”I will not allow that girl to destroy Robert... she has the same charm as her mother, and she will drive my son to the abyss.”
