My father sold me to the Mafia King

Chapter 115:

Julie’s Point of View

I walked out of the office with wide, rapid strides. As soon as I bolted the door behind me, I felt my knees trembling as if I had been walking on a tightrope. I ran toward my room, the breath racing in my chest insanely.

I sat on the edge of the bed and said:

”My God... what has come over me?”

I whispered to myself in bewilderment, the image of me insulting him in his office replaying before my eyes like a terrifying cinematic tape.

How did I dare say that? Had I gone mad? It was as if a demon had possessed my body and spoken those poisoned words on my behalf.

I put my hand over my mouth as I recalled my foolish words:

”I want someone else to delete it!”

Damn me, why do I speak in this perverted way? Why do I turn into a version of him every time I face him? I felt shame searing me, as if a touch of madness had struck my tongue in his office.

Robert’s Point of View

The fires of rage ignited in my veins like boiling fluid; Julie’s words were echoing in my ears like lashes.

Did she really say she couldn’t stand the memory of me? Does she want ”Marcus” to wipe my trace from her lips? Ever since Olivia blew her venom into my ear, the flames have been eating my insides.

I felt an overwhelming desire to smash everything my hand could reach and kill that damn Marcus. No one gets near her... she is mine alone.

I rushed out of the office with steps that shook the hallway and headed straight to her room. I opened the door violently and found her sitting on her bed; she bolted upright in terror as soon as she saw my congested face.

I slammed the door shut behind me with one strike and my eyes fixed on her; the red dress enveloped her body perfectly and provocatively.

Axel jumped toward me, but I had no time for him; I pushed him away gently and then said, my jaw muscles tensing:

”What is your relationship with Marcus?”

Her pupils widened and her lower lip trembled as she answered:

”There is nothing!”

I took a threatening step toward her and asked:

”And why was he seen sneaking out of your room late yesterday at dinner time?”

Shock was clear on her features, and she took a step back, muttering:

”Are... are you watching me?”

I roared in a muffled voice:

”Answer!”

She replied with desperate defiance:

”Ask him!”

I approached her further until she was forced to sit on the bed, then I leaned over her with my entire body, trapping her between my arms, and whispered in a deadly tone:

”Answer me, Julie!”

She swallowed hard and said in a shaky voice:

”He likened me to his lover... and thought I was her.”

My fires did not cool; instead, I asked sharply:

”And what was he doing in your room?”

She said while trying to escape with her gaze:

”Nothing... he was asking me if I knew her, then he showed me her picture on his phone, and she really looked like me... because she...”

She suddenly went silent, so I tightened my grip on the bed cover beside her and said:

”Because she what?”

She whispered in a voice that could barely be heard:

”Because she is my mother.”

I froze in my place, and I felt a sudden coldness invading my body.

”Marcus... and your mother?”

She nodded weakly:

”Yes... that’s why he was in my room.”

I asked her while scrutinizing her face accurately, searching for any lie:

”Is there anything else I should know?”

She looked at me in confusion:

”Like what?”

”Did he try to get close to you?”

She answered with sudden firmness:

”No... and if he tries, I know how to handle myself.”

I leaned in further until my lips touched the edge of her ear, and my hot breath came out caressing her skin, as I whispered with poisoned satisfaction:

”That is excellent.”

I adjusted my posture and regained my outward coldness, saying commandingly:

”Now... follow me to the office.”

She followed me silently, and we entered the office. I sat in my chair with dignity, and she asked me while standing at a distance from me:

”What do you need me for?”

I pointed my hand to the narrow space exactly beside me and said in a mysterious tone:

”Come here... beside me.”

She took cautious steps until she was aligned with my shoulder and said with apprehension:

”Yes... what do you want?”

I raised my gaze to her and said with an irritating calmness:

”I want a massage for my shoulders.”

Her features stiffened and she said in a sharp tone:

”Of course I won’t... I am not a masseuse!”

I rested my back on the chair and answered her with provocative coldness:

”You are my personal assistant, and these things fall under your duties.”

She exhaled in frustration and said:

”I don’t want to!”

”Come on, Julie... I won’t wait all day.”

I said it while my eyes followed every movement in her flushed face.

She repeated rebelliously:

”I said I don’t want to.”

I said in a low tone that warned her against crossing boundaries:

”Julie!”

She finally relented; she took heavy steps and approached until I felt the heat of her body behind me.

She placed her small hands on my shoulders, and I said with a hidden smile of victory:

”I like you when you become obedient.”

But she didn’t start the massage as I expected; instead, she passed her palms with a suspicious slowness along my shoulders reaching my neck.

I felt a sting of electricity running through my spine as her fingers touched my skin. She whispered near my ear with a voice that carried a strange tone:

”You want me to obey you?”

Suddenly, her fingers clenched around my neck and she pressed with her palms with unexpected force. She was trying to choke me, her small fingers digging her nails into my skin while she said mockingly:

”I think you need a massage for your neck... do you feel better now?”

My smile widened despite the pressure of her hands; her failed attempt to choke me was to me nothing but the gentle play of an angry cat. I said in a completely calm voice:

”I think I’m better.”

That charged moment was interrupted by a sudden knock on the door. I said to her without turning:

”You can stop.”

She withdrew her hands quickly as if she had touched embers, so I adjusted my body and said:

”Come in.”

Erik ”The Fox” entered, the King of Gambling and owner of the largest chain of casinos in Las Vegas.

He advanced with confident steps, his voice full of vitality filling the place:

”My dear Robert! How are you?”

He shook my hand warmly and sat in the chair opposite me. I scrutinized his face and said:

”Welcome, Erik... did you change your hair color again? Have you become blonde now?”

Erik laughed while running his hand through his dyed hair, then winked his brown eye with his usual playfulness:

”Robert my friend... you know I get bored quickly; I can’t stand seeing the same image in the mirror all my life.”

Then his gaze shifted toward Julie standing beside me; he examined her with expert eyes from the top of her head to the soles of her feet with a look that didn’t escape me.

I felt a tightness creeping into my chest, so I said commandingly:

”Julie... you may leave.”

Erik stopped her by raising his hand, saying:

”Can you pour some whiskey for me before you leave?”

Julie turned and headed toward the drinks table.

I watched her as she held the bottle with obvious lack of experience; she took a glass and filled it exactly to its brim.

I couldn’t stop myself from smiling; she doesn’t know the rules of hospitality nor realizes that the glass should only be filled halfway.

She presented the glass to Erik, on whose face signs of wonder and bewilderment appeared at the amount of the drink, then she left the office with quick steps.

Erik raised the glass while looking at me in amazement:

”What is this?”

I answered him while leaning back with coldness:

”It is hospitality.”

Erik placed the full glass on the table carefully, and his lips drew a mocking smile as he shook his head:

”Where did you get this girl from? Did you bring her from a remote mountain village?”

I felt a prick in my chest, but I maintained my icy mask.

I wanted to move Julie out of his circle of interest immediately, so I said in a dry tone trying to change the course of the conversation:

”Yes, Erik... do you need a special night?”

His brown eyes gleamed with the usual spark of cunning, and he leaned back in the chair, saying:

”And that is exactly why I came to you, Robert.”

I looked away from him slightly while adjusting the position of my papers on the desk:

”Who do you want? Tell me your request so I can prepare her for you.”
