My father sold me to the Mafia King

Chapter 136: 136/Visual Sin

Chapter 136

Julie’s Point of View

Carlos’s confession was a whirlpool that wouldn’t subside in my head; ”Attraction”? A heavy word that left me struggling in my confusion for hours. And when he promised me a way out, I felt the pulse of joy drumming against the walls of my chest... finally, I would breathe air that didn’t reek of this club. But behind that joy, a fear was gnawing at me: does freedom have a price?

Does he expect me to reciprocate that attraction? And am I even attracted to him? I wished there was someone I could pour my heart out to.

I remembered Axel; I had to set out his food, but I froze when I realized he was in Robert’s room.

My face ignited with shame and my limbs trembled whenever last night leaped before my eyes. How did I lose control like that? And the worst part is that I feel a sting of pain and anger in my heart because he refused to touch me!

I raised my hand and brought it down on my face with a sharp slap that made me wince and clutch my reddened cheek: ”You need this slap, Julie, because you’ve started hallucinating.”

I had to process what happened to me how I was rubbing against him like a cat in heat.

I left my room and headed toward Robert’s office. I climbed the stairs, and as soon as my feet hit the hallway, the door opened.

I froze in my tracks as I saw Robert and Carlos in a wretched state; blue and purple bruises covered their features, and crimson drops of blood stained their clothes, as if they had just emerged from a grinding war.

I said in a trembling voice shrouded in terror: ”What happened to you? What happened?”

Carlos replied coldly, wiping the corner of his mouth: ”We were just having a little fun.”

I raised my eyebrow in bewilderment, my stomach contracting: ”Fun?”

Carlos said: ”It’s a private ritual.”

Robert interrupted us in a tone as dry as ice: ”What do you want, Julie?”

I said, rubbing my fingers nervously: ”I want to talk to you.”

He replied with a single word: ”Later,” and brushed past me with his stiff body toward his room, while Carlos waved his hand, said ”Goodbye,” and left.

I remained standing alone, curiosity boiling in my veins. I followed Robert and knocked on his door, but silence was the master of the situation.

I hesitated, almost turning back, but I pushed the door slowly and entered. Axel ran toward me the moment he saw me; I leaned down to him and began stroking his face while trying to calm my pulse: ”Did you miss me, you troublemaker?”

The room was empty, but the sound of rushing water in the bathroom alerted my senses; he was showering. I sat on the sofa, trying to remain steady, but the devil began whispering to me to go and steal a glance at him.

Then I remembered the first time I saw him naked; how the world went dark and I fell unconscious. I muttered in a faint voice: ”No, Julie... sit down and don’t act stupidly.”

But that time I was a frightened, hidden prey and it was my first time seeing a naked man; now the situation is completely different. I don’t think I’ll be affected it’s the second time.

I stood up and walked with cautious steps, holding my breath so he wouldn’t hear me. I approached the ajar door, my heart pounding against my ribs with a violence that almost pierced my chest.

What if he caught me? But my feet were moving by the command of my curiosity, not my mind. I stood and pressed my back against the cold wall, then tilted my head very slowly to see what was inside.

He was there, standing under the streaming water with his completely naked body.

His bulging back muscles were contracting and expanding with every movement, the dragon tattoo slithering over his broad shoulder as if it were alive, and his firm buttocks under the pressure of the water.

The sight was capturing me; I saw a side of him I hadn’t seen before. I kept staring, taking advantage of his position as he looked at the wall, then I pressed my back against the wall again with force because I felt a sudden heat erupting in my body... the same cursed symptoms of last night!

I took a long breath, then decided to take one last look before fleeing to the sofa. I tilted my head again, but the shock paralyzed my movement; he was no longer looking at the wall.

He was facing me with his massive, broad chest, his sculpted abdominal muscles, and his large dick which protruded clearly... and above all that, his sharp eyes were colliding directly with mine!

My God... he saw me!

The world turned upside down; I fled immediately, blood boiling in my cheeks from sheer embarrassment. I ran out of the room and down the hallway at maximum speed, my heart nearly stopping from terror.

It was never in my plan to be caught red-handed... no, this was not part of the plan!

Robert’s Point of View

I didn’t believe my eyes at first; I thought the water vapor and the headache from Carlos’s blows were conjuring illusions, but it was her. Julie, standing behind the ajar door, her widened eyes devouring my body with a bewilderment I hadn’t known in her.

And when our gazes met, I saw terror trembling in her pupils before she turned and vanished like a fleeing shadow.

I stepped out of the bathroom, my body still dripping with water. I pulled my clothes on roughly and dressed, then dried my hair with a coarse towel while grinding my teeth.

I took a quick look in the mirror; my face was a canvas of blue bruises, my lips were swollen, and the marks of Carlos’s fists had left their trace clearly.

I had to know why she entered my room, and even worse, why she stayed watching me while I showered?

I headed to her room, pushed the door, and entered, but the room was still.

My eyes fell immediately on a massive bouquet of red roses resting on her bed; I didn’t need superior intelligence to know they were from Carlos.

I checked the bathroom door inside her room and it was firmly locked.

I knocked on the wood violently and said in a hoarse voice: ”Julie.”

Her voice came muffled from inside: ”Go away, please.”

I said in a tone that allowed no argument: ”Come out now, Julie.”

She replied with a shaky insistence: ”I won’t come out.”

I approached the door until my chest touched the wood and said in a hiss: ”You come out... or I break the door.”

The lock turned slowly, and she finally emerged, bowing her head, her eyes fixed on the floor and her cheeks burning crimson.

I stood directly before her, enveloping her in my shadow, and said: ”Can you explain what you did?”

She muttered without raising her gaze: ”I came to talk to you.”

I raised my eyebrow with biting sarcasm: ”To talk to me? Or to watch me while I shower?”

Her fingers began to fidget in a nervous movement, then she raised her hand to twist a lock of hair around her finger, and said in a voice barely audible: ”No... I wasn’t watching you.”

I said, lowering my head to her level to force her to see my eyes: ”I saw you, Julie.”

She flinched slightly and said: ”You were just imagining... I was sitting on the sofa.”

I repeated her word coldly: ”Imagining?”

She nodded quickly: ”Yes.”

I asked her, narrowing my eyes: ”Fine... then why did you flee the room?”

Her breath faltered and she stammered: ”I didn’t flee... I just... I needed to go to the bathroom.”

I leaned back slightly and said in an expressionless tone: ”Mmm... fine, Julie.”

Her lying was as exposed as the sun, but I found no desire to press her collapsing nerves further.

She asked me, trying to change the subject: ”Did you give Axel his food?”

I said: ”Yes, I did in the morning.”

A heavy silence prevailed; she was rubbing her palms together, searching for words in the void, then she said with great difficulty: ”I want to tell you that yesterday... I mean what happened... what I was doing...” She stopped, swallowed, and continued in a broken tone: ”My crazy actions yesterday were not of my own will.”

I said quietly: ”Yes, I know.”

She finally raised her head in surprise, her eyes widening: ”Really? How?”

I answered her coldly while averting my gaze from the red roses: ”Because someone gave you an aphrodisiac.”

She muttered in bewilderment: ”An aphrodisiac? What is that?”

I said, explaining the filth that had occurred: ”Something that makes you crave sex, and it doesn’t matter who the person in front of you is... and the one who gave it to you is that guard I killed.”

She fell completely silent, taking a step back as if the information had slapped her, then asked deeply: ”But why would he do this?”

I said bitterly: ”Because he is a piece of trash.”

She looked at me with eyes full of a sudden gratitude and said: ”Thank you... because you didn’t touch me and you tried to stop me.”

I turned my back to her, heading toward the door, and said curtly: ”No need.”

Julie’s Point of View

My tongue moved before I could think; I called out to his stiff back with a longing I hadn’t planned: ”Stop.”

Robert stopped at the threshold and turned half his body to give me a dry look from his tired eyes, and asked briefly: ”What?”

I interlaced my fingers behind my back, squeezing them hard, and asked while my eyes shifted between the ugly bruises coloring his jaw and cheek: ”Did you fight with Mr. Carlos?”

His features stiffened further, and the veins in his neck bulged as he replied with a coldness that severed all ties: ”That is none of your business.”

I swallowed, feeling a sting in my pride, but I continued, pointing my trembling hand toward his face: ”Fine... but where can I find the first aid kit? I must treat your wounds.”

A mocking smile that carried no affection formed on his split lips, and he replied as he placed his hand on the doorknob: ”Don’t tire yourself... I don’t want it.”

As soon as he closed the door behind him, I threw myself onto the edge of the bed and pressed my palms against my face, which suddenly flared up.

I blamed myself severely; why did I care about his wounds? Why did I offer help as if I cared? Let that wretched bastard die what business is it of yours, Julie? Why are you sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong with a man who sees you as nothing but a prisoner?

The words he said about the aphrodisiac kept echoing in my ears like the humming of bees. I sighed deeply and felt my body finally relax after the tension of the past hours.

Only now did the fog clear from my mind, and I knew the reason for that raging state that had cost me my dignity yesterday.

I said to myself while staring into the void, a cold shiver running down my spine: ”Is that why he refused to touch me? Because that wasn’t my true desire?”
