My father sold me to the Mafia King

Chapter 117

Robert’s Point of View

I returned my weapon to its place with a mechanical, cold movement, and stood watching Erik as he writhed on the floor, trying to gather the fragments of his collapsed body from the pain.

He shouted at me while trying to rise with difficulty: ”Robert... fuck you!”

Not a single muscle in my face moved; instead, I glanced at him with a look devoid of any pity and said dryly:

”Don’t act like a girl, Erik... it’s just a bullet.”

Erik leaned with his trembling hand on the chair and looked at me with eyes full of reproach and bewilderment:

”Did you really do this for her? Who is this girl who drives you to shoot me?”

I adjusted my shirt collar with an irritating calmness, maintaining my deep, steady voice to hide the storm hitting my chest:

”I did this because you ignored my warning... and not for her.”

I raised my voice calling Ron, who entered the office in the blink of an eye as if he had been waiting behind the door.

I nodded toward Erik before me and said: ”Ron... help Erik, take him to the doctor to remove the bullet from his thigh.”

Erik laughed a bitter laugh mixed with the moans of pain, and said with biting sarcasm: ”Thanks, Robert, for your medical care... you are a truly good person.”

I answered him with a coldness no less than the coldness of the metal in my hand: ”It is my duty, Erik.”

I watched Erik as he left the office limping with heavy steps, leaning with all his weight on Ron’s shoulder.

As soon as the door was closed, a suffocating silence prevailed in the room.

My hand extended toward the glass Julie had left; that glass she had filled to the brim with an ignorance that had driven me mad at first.

I raised it to my lips and drained it in one gulp. Erik hadn’t touched it, and it was my share.

The golden liquid traveled down my throat like molten fire; I felt it burning my chest and igniting my insides, and this burning noise was all I needed at this moment.

Olivia’s Point of View

That bitch! Mocking me with such coldness and inviting me to a gender reveal party? I felt my blood boiling in my veins as I watched her silhouette disappear; her words were stinging my heart like lashes.

While I was trying to gather my soul, I glimpsed Ron supporting Mr.

Erik; he was limping severely, and a deep red bloodstain was expanding on his thigh, staining the fabric of his trousers.

I rushed toward them and said in bewilderment: ”What happened?”

Mr. Erik exhaled with excruciating pain, his face pale as death: ”Your boss has gone mad, Olivia... he shot me just because I offered a night with his assistant.”

He continued walking, leaning with all his weight on Ron, and I heard his voice fading in the hallway as he whispered bitterly: ”Imagine that, Ron... for her sake, he did all this.”

I froze in my place, feeling as if a dagger had been plunged into my chest to shatter my heart into a thousand pieces.

Is she really worth it? Does that dull girl drive a man like Robert to lose his control before Erik? What does he see in her? What does she possess that I don’t?

My jealousy transformed into a devastating hurricane.

I headed toward her room with steps that shook the ground beneath my feet. I pushed the door violently and entered; she was lying on the bed with a calmness that drove me insane.

She raised her head and said coldly: ”Olivia, leave me... I’m in no mood to talk.”

I bolted the door behind me with a faint but firm strike, and stepped toward her with steady strides like a hunter approaching its prey.

She was lying down with a coldness that stirred my resentment. I stood over her head and said in a low voice: ”What are you doing, Julie?”

She glanced at me with a dull look and answered: ”What?”

I narrowed my eyes while scrutinizing her face, as if I were searching for a demonic tattoo:

”Do you possess magical powers? Do you craft spells in secret?”

Julie mocked with a faint laugh, and sat up to face me on the bed: ”Olivia... have you lost your mind or what?”

I approached her further until I felt her breath, and asked her while jealousy was eating my insides:

”What is special about you? What is your magic? If it is beauty, there are beauties here who surpass you by far!”

Julie raised her hands helplessly and looked at the ceiling of the room: ”For heaven’s sake, Olivia... what are you talking about?”

”Don’t play stupid!” I shouted sharply, my facial muscles tensing: ”I am talking about the way you make Mr. Robert lose his mind!”

Julie went silent for a moment, and bewilderment seemed real in her eyes: ”I make him lose his mind? Why?”

I whispered with a poisonous hiss while digging my nails into my palm: ”Is it because you are a virgin, Julie? Is he so interested in taking your virginity to this extent?”

Her pupils widened and she shocked me with her boldness: ”Olivia, you are imagining too much... one time you talk to me about Marcus and another about Robert!”

Then she fixed her gaze in my eyes and continued coldly: ”I know you admire him, but I am not your opponent... none of what you imagine exists.”

I burst out laughing hysterically, and corrected her with a scream that came from the depths of my shattered heart: ”I don’t admire him! I love him... I am obsessed with him! I am crazy about him!”

She glanced at me with a pitying wonder: ”And I wonder how you can love him... that savage does not deserve love.”

”He is not a savage!” I interrupted her, feeling an urge to slap her: ”He is special... not like other men.”

Julie curled her lips with a provocative indifference: ”Fine, rest assured... I have no intention for your mad master.”

”Maybe you will in the future... who knows?”

Julie’s body stiffened suddenly, and she said with an icy sharpness: ”Never... I would kill myself instead! He is a murderer, he bought me from my father and tried to sell me to other men, and now I am a prisoner... do you imagine that I could feel anything toward him?”

I stretched my lips mockingly: ”Do you expect me to believe this dramatic movie?”

”I don’t expect anything from you.” She sighed in frustration and continued: ”I know you won’t believe me, and I haven’t forgotten that you tried to drown me in water.”

I answered her impudently: ”You deserved that.”

She turned her face away from me and said: ”Fine, Olivia... get out now and leave me.”

”Not yet,” I whispered, sparks flying from my eyes.

She lay back down on the bed and closed her eyes, ignoring my presence completely: ”I’m going to sleep a little... I feel sleepy.”

I didn’t answer her with a word. I pounced toward the bed like a predatory beast, grabbed the pillow, and knelt over her body, then pressed it against her face with all my weight.

Her hands began flailing in the air desperately, trying to pull my hands away from her face, but I dug my fingers into the edges of the pillow and pressed harder.

Her feet were hitting the mattress forcefully, and her body was writhing beneath me in a final attempt to survive, while malice blinded my sight.

I whispered through clenched teeth, my voice coming out choked with hatred: ”Die... you bitch... die!”

Julie’s Point of View

I had no warning, and she gave me no chance to defend myself. Suddenly, light and air were cut off together as the pillow plummeted over my face like a mountain of lead.

I felt the pressure of Olivia’s body over me, a weight charged with pure hatred.

My lungs contracted in a desperate attempt to suck in a single atom of oxygen, but the fabric was completely blocking my vents.

I began flailing my hands in the air, searching for her arms, for her hair, for anything to cling to so I could push the pillow off my face.

My nails were digging into the flesh of her arms, but she was like one possessed, increasing the pressure of her palms over the pillow until I felt my jawbones groaning under the strain.

My legs trembled violently over the mattress, and I was kicking the air and the covers with random, convulsing movements.

My heartbeat began thundering in my ears like loud drums, and I saw black halos dancing behind my closed eyelids.

I heard her voice coming from afar, a hiss dripping with venom: ”Die... you bitch... die!”
