My father sold me to the Mafia King

Chapter 143: 143/Unknown hatred

Chapter 143

Julie’s point of view

His laughter widened and he shook his head in disbelief: ”You’re truly crazy!”

I said with a sharp seriousness as I stepped toward him: ”If Olivia tries to attack me again, she won’t just stand there and let me hit her. I have to learn how to block attacks.”

His features turned serious as he studied my slender frame compared to his massive build: ”Fine, Julie, but this is dangerous... First, I’m a man. Second, I’m professionally trained in combat, and you’re still a beginner.”

I smiled with a rebellion that made the veins in my neck pop: ”You’ll have to lower your level a bit, Max.”

He exhaled in resignation, tossing the pads aside: ”Fine... as you wish.”

He stood opposite me in a real fighting stance; his legs apart, his arms protecting his face and chest.

He said in a cautious tone: ”I’ll try to be gentle.”

I took a defensive stance, feeling a sharp focus enveloping my senses. I said defiantly: ”Come on... show me what you’ve got.”

I tried to punch him with all the resolve I possessed, but Max moved like an ungraspable shadow, dodging my strikes with a simple tilt of his head or torso.

I huffed in frustration and stood panting: ”Max! You’re doing the same thing... you haven’t attacked me yet.”

He replied, his eyes scanning the room warily: ”Julie, you don’t understand... this is dangerous.”

I shouted back rebelliously: ”What’s going to happen? Come on, advance!”

He sighed deeply and readied himself: ”Fine... remember how I taught you to parry.”

I said, raising my fists to protect my face: ”Yes... come on.”

He threw a punch toward me; it was provocatively slow, so I dodged it easily.

I knew he was pitying me, so I complained loudly: ”Max! Stop this.” In a moment of momentum, I tried to apply the move he had trained me on; I launched a quick kick toward his chest, but with incredible agility, he caught my foot in mid-air.

I lost my balance completely and flew backward, falling onto my back with a violent impact.

Pain surged through my spine like an electric shock.

As for my ass, it felt paralyzed; I could no longer feel its existence from the force of the collision. Max leaned over me, panic masking his features: ”I’m sorry, Julie! Are you okay? Are you in pain?”

I didn’t answer... instead, I exploded. It wasn’t a normal cry; it was a profound collapse. I began to sob like a child lost in a terrifying crowd.

Max was muttering nervously: ”Julie, what happened? My God! Did something serious happen to you? I’ll carry you to the doctor now!”

I couldn’t tell him that my pain wasn’t from the fall, but from the truth gnawing at my insides: that my father wasn’t a father, that the mother who birthed me didn’t bother to object to my sale, and that I am a prisoner in this cursed place with no way out.

Max carried me in his strong arms and ran with me through the corridors, heading toward the doctor’s room on the upper floor.

He burst in, panting: ”She fell and I think she broke something... I don’t know!”

I heard the doctor’s calm voice: ”Fine... put her here on the bed.”

I wanted to scream that I was physically fine, but my gasps kept the words from coming out. I felt my lungs contracting, air refusing to enter, as if a steel cage had clamped shut over my chest. The doctor approached and gripped my shoulder: ”Tell me where it hurts.

Julie... calm down now or no air will enter your lungs.”

I was having a severe respiratory crisis, my body convulsing with involuntary jolts. My heart was literally breaking, and all her attempts to soothe me went in vain against the flood of oppression exploding inside me.

Suddenly, I felt the sting of a needle sinking into my skin, the coldness of the fluid racing through my veins... the noise began to fade, my limbs gradually went limp, until the darkness swallowed me whole.

Stuart’s Point of View (Julie’s Father)

I pressed my hand against my stony jaw, feeling the throb of pain striking the facial bone with every movement. Damn her, that little bitch; she didn’t just humiliate me, she left her disgusting mark on my face right in front of Robert.

If that monster hadn’t been standing there, I would have dragged her by her hair and taught her how to lay a hand on her master.

I pulled out my phone with a hand trembling from rage and humiliation, and dialed Mr. Thomas’s number. I swallowed hard as I waited for him to pick up, the sound of my own breath loud in my ears.

”Hello, Mr. Thomas... your son refused to sell Julie to me.”

His voice came back as cold as ice, making a shiver run down my spine: ”You weren’t convincing enough for him.”

I stammered, wiping cold sweat from my forehead: ”I did everything in my power, sir. I offered him a blank check, but he refuses to sell her... he seems hold on to her in a terrifying way. He even discovered that you are the one behind the plan.”

He didn’t give me a chance to justify myself; he slammed the phone down, making me curse under my breath.

I started the car and drove like a maniac, then Meredith called.

As soon as I answered, her voice exploded like a whip: ”Don’t tell me you’re bringing that brat back to my house again, Stuart!”

I exhaled sharply, gripping the steering wheel: ”Don’t worry... Robert refused to sell her.”

A brief silence followed before she asked with venomous eagerness: ”Did you see her? Is she suffering? Is her face pale and her body broken like I hoped?”

I said bitterly, remembering her dignified stance: ”Actually... she’s better than she was. It’s as if she’s gaining strength and immunity in that cursed place.”

She screamed in disbelief: ”What? Are you sure?”

I answered, shaking my head in resentment: ”Yes... if you could see how she spoke to Robert, as if she were the lady and he the servant!”

Meredith snarled with malice: ”Damn that bitch! I hoped she’d be working as a sex machine there, rotting from agony and disappearing forever, but she found a way to be better? This cannot be!”

I hung up and entered the house with unsteady steps. I found Meredith pacing the lounge like a caged tigress, her face flushed and her eyes gleaming with evil.

I said, collapsing onto the sofa: ”What’s wrong, Meredith? Why all this rage?”

She stopped suddenly and looked at me with such hatred, as if I were the cause: ”I’m angry because that bitch is living in comfort, Stuart! I can’t stand the thought of her sleeping and eating in peace while I wanted her humiliated!”

Suddenly, her eyes narrowed as she inspected my face. She approached and lifted my chin sharply: ”What’s wrong with your face? Why is it so swollen?”

I averted my gaze, feeling an indescribable shame as I spoke the words: ”Julie punched me...”

Meredith’s Point of View (Julie’s Mother)

The moment he spoke those words, I felt a spark of rage incinerate my remaining nerves. ”She did what?” I screamed at him, his voice feeling like a stab wound. ”She hit you? And you just stood there like an idiot and did nothing to her?”

Stuart replied in terror, wiping his face: ”Do you want to be a widow? I’m telling you, she’s become like the mistress there! Robert would have killed me the second I raised a hand against her!”
