Cultivation: Starting from a Mortal Bone

Chapter 50: Chapter 48: Quit While You’re Ahead

Qin Yu was no stranger to this beautiful mentor.

Yet, merely pressing her shoulders still stirred his heart.

He took a deep breath to calm his restless thoughts and began earnestly...

Pressing down.

”Mentor, is this strength... alright?” Qin Yu asked.

”Hmm, it’s fine.”

Yin Qinghe’s voice turned somewhat languid, her peach blossom eyes slightly narrowing, as if a watery glow flowed within them.

Though she lived with Zhao Mengli, it wasn’t that Zhao Mengli lacked filial piety; rather, she didn’t want Zhao Mengli to waste time on such matters.

At most, it was just casual pressing; who would delve into the technique for such things?

Who among proper people would study such techniques?!

With a press from Qin Yu, it directly reached her heart.

Initially, she felt a bit resistant, but this press wiped that feeling away; she said nothing yet hoped Qin Yu would continue.

In the past, this beautiful mentor had never shown such a languid side in front of him.

At first glance, it was truly captivating.

She was born captivating, even with a serious face she remained enchanting; at this moment, her entire being emitted an indescribable allure, as if one could sink into her gaze.

Fortunately, Qin Yu’s will was as firm as steel, preventing easy swaying.

He continued pressing with his hands.

As his strength spread from her shoulders, changes unfolded in front of the beautiful mentor.

He pressed down.

A watermelon, when under stress, would flatten into an oval.

As soon as he retracted his hands, it restored immediately.

Amazing!

Though Qin Yu’s will was strong, his robe was sincere and underwent subtle changes.

Slightly distracted, he exerted a bit more pressure.

He thought the beautiful mentor might get angry, yet unexpectedly, a relieved hum escaped her lips, ”Hmm!...”

Incredible!

”Hmm?”

Yin Qinghe was feeling the soreness on her shoulders dissipate when suddenly, Qin Yu’s actions inexplicably halted, instantaneously causing her to open those peach blossom eyes filled with autumn water with a hint of dissatisfaction.

The next moment, she froze, then widened her eyes.

Because for convenience in pressing her shoulders, Qin Yu was standing by her head, and when she slightly opened her eyes, she saw a shadow cast over her.

???

This rebellious disciple!

How dare he be so brazen?!

How dare he have ill intentions towards her as... a mentor?!

Outrageous!

Is he seeking to challenge the mentor’s authority?!

Such behavior, no matter where, would be scorned by the world.

Yin Qinghe tightly bit her lower lip to stop herself from directly rebuking him.

Because once that happened, there would be no room for turning back!

This won’t do.

If by chance Li’Er hears and comes running, how heartbroken would she be.

So, despite her inner anger, Yin Qinghe held back, shutting her eyes again, pretending she saw nothing earlier.

As long as she couldn’t see it now, it could be as if nothing ever happened.

Moreover, he was just honoring her, repaying her kindness, perhaps, not out of his genuine intent.

Yes!

That’s right.

Qin Yu simply paused for a moment, then continued.

Mmm!...

Yin Qinghe’s brows rose slightly.

Say what you will, though this rebellious disciple had many... flaws, his shoulder pressing technique was genuinely good.

With her shoulders almost done, Qin Yu finally spoke, ”Mentor, should I press your back?”

”No!”

Yin Qinghe flatly refused, without the slightest hesitation.

Even though.

She was troubled by certain spots on her back that she couldn’t reach.

But having her disciple press her back, what would that be like?!

Far too intimate.

Just thinking about it, she couldn’t accept it.

”You should go cultivate!”

Yin Qinghe’s voice returned to normal, resuming its cool tone, although she neither sat up nor opened her eyes.

Of course, that was to avoid touching or seeing what shouldn’t be touched or seen.

”Alright!”

Qin Yu agreed, understanding the wisdom of knowing when to quit.

The first step of pressing her shoulders was achieved, surely the second step wasn’t far off?

Once the path to compromise starts, it continues unchecked.

Did he really miss his mentor’s earlier subtle moves?

Only after hearing his departing footsteps did Yin Qinghe breathe a sigh of relief.

She truly feared Qin Yu might commit any overstepping actions, if such happened... how would she handle it?

Suppress?

Reprimand?

Send him away?

None of those seem appropriate.

Fortunately, this disciple generally listens to her, does as she’s told, and maintains respect before her.

He does still respect her.

Even Yin Qinghe herself didn’t notice a faint and barely detectable smile at the corner of her lips.

Her eyes secretly opened a slit to glance at Qin Yu already refining Spirit Stone, and she continued resting.

The pain in her brow hadn’t fully disappeared.

Worry crept up her brow again.

Alas.

She had indeed overestimated herself.

She had left herself a reserve, but these reserves must remain to help Qin Yu and Zhao Mengli improve their cultivation.

Therefore, she still needed to earn enough Spirit Stones to pay the rent.

This yard for a year was certainly not cheap!

But at Yin Qinghe’s current efficiency in purifying medicinal liquid, it might...

What to do?!

...

Close to noon, Zhao Mengli awoke, rubbing sleep from her eyes.

Qin Yu was not there.

Presumably, he had already gone to the Alchemy Room for cultivation.

”Mmm!...”

She stretched lazily, ready to rise.

”Hmm?!”

Suddenly, as if sensing something, Zhao Mengli paused, then closed her eyes to sense carefully.

Last night, there had been only a wisp of warm current, but now it had increased threefold!

Though still very faint.

Yet!

Her root bone had undergone a massive transformation.

Zhao Mengli was merely an upper-grade mortal bone.

If she had a top-grade mortal bone, then perhaps due to her spiritual power talent, she might be selected as an Immortal Seed by the Immortal Sect.

But now, she distinctly felt that her root bone had undergone a ’quality’ change through the nurturing of the warm current.

It was a change that was easy to discern!

Top-grade mortal bone!

Though Zhao Mengli hadn’t tested it yet, she felt an intense sense of certainty.

”This... how could it be?!”

Although she had been mentally prepared, the fact that her root bone genuinely improved still felt unreal to Zhao Mengli.

The changes in her, no doubt, broke through the ironclad norms of the world!

The impact on Zhao Mengli was quite significant.

Actually, it wasn’t that the warm current was especially abundant, but rather, just enough for a transformative shower.

At this moment, she could still vividly sense the warm current circulating within her, her constitution... was still enhancing!

That means, top-grade mortal bone isn’t the limit!

As long as she had enough warm current, she might soon attain... a spirit bone!
