Cultivation: Starting from a Mortal Bone

Chapter 9: Chapter 7: Changes After Romantic Point Increase

”Eat up.”

Qin Yu picked up a piece of meat for Lin Qianqian, then another for Lin Shuishui.

”Thank you, brother-in-law!”

Lin Shuishui’s big watery eyes curved into adorable crescent moons.

But, her unconscious ”brother-in-law” made Lin Qianqian’s moved feeling turn into shy embarrassment, her tender face flushing pink and warm.

”Just eat, don’t talk nonsense.”

Lin Qianqian scolded lightly, happiness filling her heart, though she also felt unworthy.

”Did Shuishui call him wrong?”

Qin Yu didn’t mind at all. Honestly, this title made him think of that saying... something about the little sister-in-law having half of her brother-in-law’s...?

Wait, that’s not right!

How could he have such indecent thoughts?!

”Sister, can’t I call him brother-in-law?”

Lin Shuishui’s little mouth was stuffed full, making her mumble unclearly.

”You little rascal!”

Seeing Qin Yu looking at her, Lin Qianqian felt a wave of warmth crash in her chest. She tapped Shuishui’s little head and discreetly wiped her eye corner, then gently took over the rice scoop.

”Let me serve you some rice...”

Her voice was quiet as a mosquito, but inside the small house, it sounded especially clear.

This dinner, was the most delicious and warm meal Lin Qianqian had ever eaten.

Finally, someone truly cared for her, shielding her from the wind and rain, building a home for her.

[Lin Qianqian’s Romantic Point: 20 (Affection)]

Qin Yu’s eating paused ever so slightly.

Actually, judging from Lin Qianqian’s Romantic Point, though they’d been living closely together for days, they’re still at the Initial Acquaintance stage, which meant she still guarded herself against him.

That was perfectly normal.

In this ruthless world, trusting too easily would leave nothing but bones.

Maybe Lin Qianqian suspected Qin Yu had his sights set on her sister at the start, but now, seeing him so attentive, her heart began to soften, feelings blooming in secret.

After clearing the dishes, Lin Qianqian dragged a shy Lin Shuishui towards the partitioned room.

”Shuishui, you go to sleep first! You... Uncle Qin’s been exhausted from alchemy these days, I’ll go press his shoulders for him, let him relax.”

”That’s right, sis! Brother-in-law’s really tired from alchemy! Shuishui wants to help relax him too!”

Lin Shuishui hiccuped, seemingly matured by this meal, deciding she’d serve and take care of brother-in-law from now on!

Lin Qianqian’s pretty face flashed a barely noticeable blush at those words, coaxing and teasing, ”Shuishui! You’re still little, clumsy, you don’t know how to take care of people!”

”Who says I’m little! Sister, you can’t look down on me!”

”Alright... Maybe someday! Your brother-in-law’s tired, don’t disturb him.”

”Hoo...”

A breath of orchid fragrance blew out the candle, leaving only peace in the night-lit little house.

”Qianqian, you’re full now, right? Is your stomach still uncomfortable?”

Under the moonlight, Qin Yu teased the slowly approaching Lin Qianqian.

”Mm, I’m full...”

Lin Qianqian lowered her voice, arms already feeling for the bed’s edge.

Full and warm... time to think...

About half an hour later, the room gave a muffled groan.

Qin Yu let out a long breath.

Not bad, he hit the average duration of the online legends!

[Emotion Point from Lin Qianqian +2]

[Flame Point: 2]

”Hm?”

Qin Yu thought he’d misread, but looking again, the Flame Point really had increased by two.

Just now, it was only once!

”What’s going on? I didn’t even go above and beyond!”

Staring at his delicate wife curled up with her jade-like back, Qin Yu frowned, perplexed.

Soon, his attention shifted to the Romantic Point.

[Lin Qianqian’s Romantic Point: 20 (Affection)]

”Could it be, the increase is due to Romantic Point?”

Qin Yu pondered and finally decided...

To test it again!

He whispered, ”Qianqian, are you... tired?”

”Still... still alright.”

The little wife poked her head out in his arms, shyly gazing at him, her eyes bright, seemingly holding a trace of...

Expectation.

This is, tasting the sweetness?

”Then, shall we... keep sleeping?”

Keep sleeping?

What kind of sleep is this?

The smooth, willow-like jade back trembled slightly, finally flipping over to become two mountains pressed beneath Qin Yu.

In the deep night, Qin Yu was a bit tired, but his eyes shone with delight!

He tried again!

Once again, the Flame Point increased by two in one go!

[Flame Point: 4]

That way, his Flame Point growth rate had directly doubled!

”Looks like, it really IS tied to Romantic Point!”

Actually, Qin Yu hadn’t cared much about Romantic Point at first, only now did he realize it was supremely important.

”So, for every 10 Romantic Points gained, Flame Point will earn one extra per time!”

Qin Yu mused.

The result wasn’t half, but twice the effect!

”If I can gain four Flame Points a day, my Spiritual Power boost will come quickly.”

In the past, he needed two or three months to collect a hundred Flame Points.

After all, he still had to cultivate, still had to refine medicinal liquid!

Now, with some effort, a month or so would be enough.

Entering the middle tier.

Normally, that should mean he could refine higher quality medicine.

Even if not, the success rate for First Grade medicinal liquid would soar!

But that wasn’t the most exciting thing for Qin Yu.

”Romantic Point can definitely go higher!”

”Looks like, I really need to treat Qianqian well, whether or not it’s for cultivation.”

Qin Yu gently tucked Lin Qianqian under the quilt. He too had no one to rely on in this world.

Living with the sisters under the same roof, they must depend on each other, genuinely care.

Flame Point was something he initiated, but Romantic Point would only respond to true feelings.

Qin Yu gently embraced his kitten-like wife and kissed her forehead softly.

Yet, this unintentional gesture seemed to make Lin Qianqian misunderstand...

Almost reflexively, she stretched her delicate hand and made a bold move!

”Hiss!”

Qin Yu sucked in a cold breath.

How can he handle that?!

And so...

[Romantic Point from Lin Qianqian +2]

[Flame Point: 6]

Qin Yu felt content, visibly tired, but surprised to find his tender wife still staring at him with her big watery eyes, as if...

”Qianqian, rest early, I have to do alchemy tomorrow...”

Harvest doubles.

But tilling the soil is still hard work.

Ahem.

Qin Yu wasn’t avoiding anything.

But since he had to support both sisters, he couldn’t slack off — alchemy was his ticket to earning enough Spirit Stones!

Yet what puzzled Qin Yu was, how come Lin Qianqian, who hadn’t cultivated her Root Bone, recovered quicker than he did?

Looks like, next time he goes to the Market, he should consider buying some Essence Yang replenishing herbs.
