One-Eyed Monster

The weather in Xinbal has been terrible these days.

By the time Kuyi Tulan left the testing ground, the sky was already quite dark. However, with the relentless rain over these days, there wasn’t any sunlight to enjoy anyway, so for Kuyi Tulan, the dim sky did not bring any negative feelings.

He once again went to visit Xiso Glass.

The previous explosive rebellion by Xiso did not pose much of a threat to him.

He could do anything, and this sense of control brought him a great deal of satisfaction.

The door opened completely when Willem arrived, and after opening, he did not become panicked like others, didn’t become compliant. He was different from others; he was Kuyi Tulan, the initiator of the Purification Plan, one uniquely obsessed with impurities.

He was originally wandering outside that door, unable to find the entrance. Willem was like a guide.

It was amusing to think that at first, he only contacted some Dark Wizards from the Black Crow, acquiring those secret techniques from their hands and obtaining some dark powers. Of course, he wasn’t doing this to embrace the darkness; it was merely to continue his experiments. The failure of the Purification Plan made him reflect for a long time, and he decided to try something new.

Wizard Reed indeed provided him with a new path, but he did not expect this path would eventually lead to his demise.

He wiped out the entire Black Crow directly.

He didn’t anticipate that the Spirit Core he discovered was exactly what the Black Crow was desperately seeking. To acquire more Spirit Cores, the Black Crow fabricated the elaborate lie about Guru Mountain. The truth hidden within Guru Mountain was not merely the scroll; the scroll was just a part.

The power of that scroll, the so-called power transcending life and death, was merely the devouring principle of the Spirit Core.

Although the devouring principle was already terrifying enough, it was just a small part. What the Black Crows wanted to unlock was that devouring power, which was the real secret.

Now, Kuyi Tulan possessed the memories of too many people. He devoured Willem, which was something no one could have anticipated, including Willem himself.

Now, Willem’s remaining consciousness couldn’t express itself anymore, having been completely crushed into fragments by Kuyi Tulan.

Kuyi Tulan clapped his hands. Under the dim sky, the entire Xinbal felt unusually cold, even though it was summer, the weather involuntarily reminded people of extreme winter.

”It seems the sky is really going to change!” Kuyi Tulan looked up at the clouds and closed his eyes, feeling the gift of power.

Now, he could sense the Spirit Power emanating from everything.

He could feel all living creatures greedily absorbing the Spirit Power.

This is power, able to penetrate everything, perceive everything...

So this was their reason for tiring of slumber!

Kuyi Tulan mused, after devouring Willem, he understood the entire matter.

The Soul Devourers wanted to rule this world, turning all humans into their slaves.

They did not wish to slip back into slumber; once the Awakeners roused them, they wanted to remain conscious, to continue existing.

This is a story that must be told.

The Spirit World is a unique world, where there is no death, only slumber.

Once awakened by the Awakeners, they exist by adhering to the Awakeners, providing them with energy.

Initially, this balance continued peacefully, and both humans and spirits maintained a harmonious relationship under the rule of Equivalent Exchange.

This balance persisted for generations; some spirits even came to know the entire history of the Yowein Continent. However, since spirits rarely possess emotions, they just repeated their cycles of slumber and Awakening.

However, this balance was ultimately broken.

Some spirits suddenly no longer wanted to sleep. Having stayed in this world for too long, they gradually became enamored, and they began wanting to occupy this world, to reside permanently.

The reason for this change remains unknown, as Willem’s memory did not contain this knowledge.

Kuyi Tulan wasn’t particularly interested in these matters. His interest lay solely in the infinite power; by controlling the awakened spirits, he could continuously absorb surrounding energy, allowing him to transcend his limitations.

Now, all professions are insignificant before him, as his power can transcend any profession.

Familiarizing himself with the surrounding energy, utilizing this energy, releasing it; this is a true master of power. Everything else is superfluous, devoid of value.

Kuyi Tulan opened his eyes; now, he needed to find the final Soul Devourer, the being that existed like a Shadow Ghost, this individual leading the entire Soul Devourer group, who was behind the upheaval from the Spirit World. What this figure possessed was what Kuyi Tulan truly sought.

This Shadow Ghost still controlled the organization named Death, which had some capability to stir trouble.

However, they wouldn’t last much longer because the Resistors! who once battled these Soul Devourers were beginning to stir again.

Kuyi Tulan’s lips curled up, the thought of these two organizations clashing brought him involuntary joy.

It saves him the trouble... though his troubles would keep coming relentlessly.

Those Mail Birds, carrying all sorts of information, continually flew across all places. These messengers never knew that these Mail Birds were under the control of the Alchemists!

When would these people finally wise up?

This is also why those spirits wanted to invade this world.

Kuyi Tulan sighed.

Without great power, one is destined to be crushed; such suppression is truly a helpless affair.

He was never wrong; only by becoming powerful enough can these invaders be made to retreat before hardship.

The Purification Plan was meant to create great beings, eternal ones, but it was a plan the world never understood...

Now, it doesn’t matter anymore; he can now control everything, everything is within grasp, and anything can change.

The strength of power allows him to do as he desires, just like when he devoured Willem.

Those spirits never thought he could launch a counterattack. This sensation is truly thrilling.

He would let these invaders know that this world is not a gathering of weaklings awaiting slaughter.

Devouring Willem was just a part of his counterattack.

Those spirits wanted to invade this world! Haha, then let them taste the flavor of reprisal.

Kuyi Tulan aims to fully absorb the power of the spirits. His plan is to invade the entire Spirit World.

The sky above is destined to change, and the one to dominate it all must be him!
