One-Eyed Monster

Recently, the events happening in Xinbal have quickly spread through the streets and alleys.

The mysterious fight occurring on Bayes Avenue East Street, where the Kangen family’s territory is located, those suddenly insane servants attacking Kangen family members baffled everyone.

And the blue flame, burning brilliantly at the entrance of the Kangen family, truly astonished people.

The whole of Xinbal was discussing what exactly that blue flame was.

All the Adventurers with Class organizations took it very seriously and communicated with the Kangen family. As the guardians of the Imperial Palace, the Kangen family naturally shares information cautiously. They anticipated such events, yet they were puzzled why those attracted by the flame appeared once and then vanished.

You must know that when the flame extinguished, those fellows with glowing golden eyes chose to commit suicide without hesitation, such a scene was very shocking, even the Kangen family, accustomed to big scenarios, was surprised.

Such a big commotion, logically, each organization coming to inquire about the situation was to be expected, and the Kangen family had also made related preparations.

They expected people from the Alchemy Workshop to come over because often they felt things might be related to the Alchemy Workshop.

However, the people from the Alchemy Workshop never appeared at the Kangen family’s door.

Those obsessed with the flame vanished without a trace, never showing signs of emerging again, and the presumed mastermind, the Alchemy Workshop, did nothing out of the ordinary, all of which left the Kangen family puzzled.

Why was this enemy so silent...?

”I think waiting here is a mistake,” said a rotten-skinned fellow indignantly in the depths of the Kangen family’s small cabin, fed up with waiting. After days of no movement, his bones were itching.

This blue-skinned fellow is Kadi, currently a bait, waiting for the enemy to take the hook.

But this bait doesn’t seem that stable.

”How are you managing the flame now?” Igor showed no interest in Kadi’s complaint earlier; he wanted to know about another matter of Kadi’s.

”The flame, heh, I can naturally control it freely!” Kadi said, and a blue flame appeared in his palm, jumping.

The flame in Kadi’s palm resembled a small pet, obediently following Kadi’s commands, constantly flickering back and forth.

”Looks like you’ve mastered the skill!” Igor’s eyes sparkled, he found it fascinating no matter how many times he looked.

”Hehe, I can suppress their jumping; truly mastering it is still out of reach!” Kadi humbly said.

”But, for now, we shouldn’t act recklessly; it’s best to go to the palace.” Igor still felt his previous opinion worthy of consideration.

The old patriarch agreed with the suggestion initially, but they hadn’t implemented it promptly. Mainly because going to the palace isn’t such an easy task,

Thus, after discussion, they reached a consensus on taking action.

The Kangen family would find a reason to go to the palace, while Igor and the others continued to wait for news with the Kangen family.

During the wait, Kadi would act as bait to lure out potential enemies.

This natural arrangement didn’t concern Kadi and Igor.

Over time, Kadi couldn’t suppress his curiosity any longer, as he loves to move around, it made him restless in the small cabin.

And thus the previous conversation occurred.

”Oh, you’re playing with fire again!” said an elder, entering tremblingly. This was Old Cole, formerly the housekeeper for the Kangen family, now assigned to be with Kadi and the others.

Old Cole is a Saint Robe; he never wears a wizard robe, finding it cumbersome and hindering his connection with nature.

Compared to Patrick, Old Cole is much more amiable.

”Mr. Cole!” Igor was thrilled upon seeing Old Cole enter; these days they became good friends with Old Cole.

”These days, the dry weather makes playing with fire risky, sparks can create large flames, flames mean fire disasters, which is bad!” Old Cole rambled, seemingly displeased with Igor and Kadi’s fire play this time.

”Rest assured, Mr. Cole, this flame won’t burn normal things, won’t start fire disasters!” Igor smiled.

”No matter, it’s inappropriate if seen by children, bad influence, you shouldn’t casually play with fire.” Old Cole remained serious, his expression like a stern teacher lecturing errant children.

”Um... We understand.” Facing such an expression, Igor didn’t argue further,

”Alright, I realize my mistake!” Kadi quickly admitted his fault.

”Ah, knowing your mistake is good. I came to call you for dinner!” Old Cole laughed, his facial wrinkles bunching together.

”Dinner already!” Kadi jumped, clearly interested in eating.

”Dinner already?” Igor was surprised.

”Yes, after dinner, we need to go somewhere together.”

”Hmm?” Igor scratched his head, sensing something important was about to happen but not knowing what, and obediently followed Old Cole to dinner.

”Oh, right, after eating, you need to take a bath, tidy yourselves up, it will appear more proper.” Old Cole paused while walking to say, thinking it necessary to say before dinner.

”Also, Kadi, remember to wear a mask, it’ll show politeness.”

”Do not glance around; doing so might damage your own image.”

”Most importantly, remember not to reveal your weapons casually; the host doesn’t mind you bringing them but dislikes weapons, even if yours are now Spirit Entities connected.”

Old Cole walked and stopped, effectively conveying many things along the way.

Finally arriving at the dining area, Igor and Kadi’s eyebrows relaxed. After all, this short route involved many instructions from Old Cole.

Dining didn’t take long; Igor and Kadi finished in no time.

”Who exactly are we meeting later, so formal!” A full Kadi queried curiously, ”Even wearing a mask, I feel that wearing a mask is impolite!”

”Yeah, who is it, with so many rules, must do it this way.”

”You will find out later, don’t ask so much now, go take a bath and change into decent clothes, ensure you tidy up cleanly and neatly, don’t be sloppy!”

”Alright!”

Igor and Kadi looked at each other, then left to follow Old Cole’s instructions, taking a bath and dressing up...
