One-Eyed Monster

”I didn’t expect you to master the entire devouring process so quickly.”

Seeing King Kayne already taking shape on the opposite side, the Soul Devourer couldn’t help but say.

Although he knew he would have to fight the other party sooner or later, since they could communicate, he wouldn’t miss the chance to chat.

Once again proving that the entire Soul Devourer squad is a group of lonely people; deep inside, they are always a solitary child, always wanting to find someone to talk to, always eager to connect with others.

This Soul Devourer was in the same situation.

Knowing the confrontation would be difficult, he still tried every way to chat with the other party, hoping the other could open up to him.

It’s very likely this Soul Devourer would also launch his offensive to recruit King Kayne into their ranks.

It seems every Soul Devourer values talent; they hope to make others join their team through their efforts. This way, they can expand their team and continue to grow.

It seems every Soul Devourer is quite confident in their oratory; they always confidently chat with others, hoping to persuade the other party through their efforts and thus avoid unnecessary conflict.

However, once conflict occurs, it can’t be stopped by persuasion; no one will abandon their resistance, especially those oppressed for so long.

Those willing to give up resistance won’t spend so much time resisting; they would beg for mercy at the first opportunity.

Such a simple truth, the Soul Devourer simply doesn’t understand; he still hopes his words can move the opponent to abandon resistance.

”Such insight, no wonder you’re so outstanding. I truly admire you for comprehending energy usage in such a short time.” The Soul Devourer used his power to block the king’s attack.

One must admit the Kayne royal family is indeed different. After mastering full energy control, he immediately employed it, and during this process, he also integrated special moves of various major professions.

The whole counterattack was quite well-executed, and it was precisely this well-executed attack that made the Soul Devourer fond of talent; he really hoped this ruler could follow them.

”After all, a member of the royal family, speaking even a word, seems precious.” The Soul Devourer seemed a bit fascinated, although he was struggling during the whole resistance, he still wanted to chat with this King Kayne.

But King Kayne didn’t respond at all, continually launching counter-attacks with controlled Spirit Power.

”I don’t know why you act this way, but I think you’re quite formidable to have seen through energy in such a short time.”

Now the Soul Devourer is just talking to himself, as King Kayne completely ignores him.

”This Devouring Power is still quite strong; among all the opponents I’ve faced, you’re a rather special existence.”

”No one has been able to counter-devour me; you’re the first!”

”Truly, if you turned over and became my follower, I would be very pleased.”

...

The Soul Devourer continued talking incessantly; he really didn’t want this King Kayne to continue so stubbornly.

Honestly, he’s even a bit reluctant to devour this King Kayne.

Such a powerful understanding ability, it would be a pity if it were devoured; keeping it to develop into a new weapon might be a good choice.

”Honestly, shouldn’t we set aside our differences and have a good talk to find a way to solve the problem?”

The Soul Devourer genuinely reached a point of wanting to connect.

Previously, there was a bit of fear, now all the fear was overshadowed by this surprise.

This surprise was brought by King Kayne; even though there was a bit of painful support now, he was still full of expectations for the future. He always believed his own strength could make the other party surrender.

With this, he would have the opportunity to teach Kuyi Tulan a lesson properly; now this matter had become his heartache. He wanted to hit Kuyi Tulan hard until Kuyi Tulan didn’t recognize him anymore.

If this process had the assistance of King Kayne, it would be even more perfect!

Now the Soul Devourer kept trying to make King Kayne stop, but despite his earnest attempts, the other party showed no sign of stopping!

”What on earth are you thinking?”

The Soul Devourer very much wanted to hear what King Kayne was thinking and what it would take for him to cooperate.

A king of an empire, how could he be fooled with just a few words?

Indeed, this Soul Devourer is a master, a king in the realm of devouring, but he always has a weakness, and now this weakness is glaringly apparent.

This is a common flaw among villains, a weakness they can’t shrug off.

That is, these guys talk too much, so much they’ve already exposed a flaw.

In a fleeting moment, the energy fluctuations had put the Soul Devourer at a disadvantage, but he still wasn’t aware of it.

The Soul Devourer was still tirelessly recruiting the king…

”You must know, with power like ours, we can continue indefinitely.”

”Become one of us, and I’ll grant you the power of immortality! That’s the power most people long for!”

The Soul Devourer spoke wishfully, believing his offer was very tempting.

But oddly enough, such an enticing offer seemed to elicit a laugh in response.

This laugh puzzled the Soul Devourer.

This laughter, what does it mean? Is it a joy for the future or a disdain for himself?

It seems the laughter carried disdain for him…

No, it seems like both emotions are present.

The Soul Devourer couldn’t quite understand, but at the moment he was confused, a strong wave of energy engulfed his energy cluster!

He was stunned.

For the first time, someone could devour his energy.

This devouring power wasn’t very intense, like being bitten by ants, but it indeed astonished the Soul Devourer.

”That attack was quite a quick response!”

”Unawares, you managed to attack me like this!”

”Having someone with such depth serve as my follower would be excellent!”

”Why, even now, do you still not speak!”

”Could it be, are you mute?”

”Hahaha, King Kayne being mute, that’s truly comical.”

”Don’t think that by devouring my energy you’ve succeeded, this is just the beginning!”

...

One must admit, this Soul Devourer sure was talkative, like an endless stream of water, babbling ceaselessly.

King Kayne still ignored this Soul Devourer, continuing to attack with his techniques.

The appearance of a flaw gave him new ideas, he wanted to use a simple method to defeat this enemy.

All the previous struggles, endurance, and attempts were for this moment of attack.

He wanted to use this simple approach to beat this talkative scoundrel.

The Soul Devourer was initially surprised by King Kayne’s attack, but now he became very disdainful.

The initial surprise was because he didn’t expect this king could devour his energy, and the disdain was because King Kayne’s devouring was really too weak…
