Our Family Has Fallen

Chapter 1187: Chapter 653: Secret Gathering

”Yes!”

The guards outside on alert rushed in immediately upon hearing the order.

Lance didn’t waste words, directly raising his hand to mark three people, indicating:

”Capture these three for me.”

His hand was like the touch of death, and those marked instantly felt as if they had fallen into hell, terror swiftly stealing the already uneasy expressions from their faces, and their limbs lost control, freezing on the spot.

At this moment, the guards, fierce as wolves and tigers, had already rushed forward to overpower them, and the others standing around avoided them, fearing to get involved themselves.

”No! I didn’t do anything!”

”They forced me!”

”You can’t treat a doctor like this!”

It was only under the eruption of pressure did they regain control of their bodies, but...

”Damn it, stay honest!” The guard didn’t waste words, delivering a punch to see if they’d continue their frenzy.

Their hatred for these spies was exceptionally intense.

They simply believed any traitor should be taken out to be shot!

Fortunately, the Lord was kind and wouldn’t just watch them be taken out to be shot.

Lance merely smiled at their wails and pleas for mercy, ”I’ve already given you a chance, this is your own choice. Please contribute to the development of modern medicine in another way.”

With that, Lance waved his hand to indicate, ”Send them to the sanatorium.”

Those people were taken away, and this scene greatly intimidated the remaining ones, leaving their expressions somewhat complex.

They realized Hamlet was not the place they imagined it to be, very different from the rumors, even somewhat savage.

Lance might have guessed their thoughts but was indifferent.

For these superior ”city folks” and ”college students,” a harsh reality check was necessary. Hamlet needed people willing to get things done, not a bunch of arrogant yet incapable wastrels.

For this, Lance didn’t mind stimulating them once more.

”I don’t know if you’ve noticed that those four were among the top performers among you, meaning the association has long been selecting. Guess why the association hasn’t contacted itself?”

These words involuntarily led those proud doctors into contemplation, and such blatant words even made the professor a bit awkward.

”Seems everyone has realized something.” Lance’s smile grew more radiant; he loved watching these guys break down, even adding fuel to the fire to encourage them.

”That’s right, you were able to come here not because you’re so capable but because you are all the garbage casually discarded by the association.

Even knowing you wanted to leave the association, they still had no reaction because they believed you all were useless, not thinking you could pose any threat to the association.

Likewise, here, you so-called doctors and scholars don’t know more than those mercenaries outside; at least they have truly been injured and have done self-aid.

And those chaotic things you’ve learned are utterly meaningless; their only function is to screen you out.”

Lance devalued their achievements, dismissing all the struggles and efforts they had made to get here.

It was harsh, but it was a fact they couldn’t dispute. They were completely unfulfilled due to being suppressed by the association, having lost the rightful treatment of a doctor-scholar; otherwise, they wouldn’t have come here.

Now, Lance offered them a brand-new choice.

”So choose: join the great plan and leave your names in the development of modern medicine,

or walk out of here, and like the association’s definition, disappear anonymously in history.”

”I’ll stay.”

Without much waiting, one person made the choice, and others did too; no one was willing to be mediocre, as geniuses always have a bit of pride, wanting to prove the association’s failure.

For Lance, this was just the beginning; the path of medicine was the way to make big money, and Hamlet must get a share.

”I will open part of the medical research reports to you and provide you with enough specimens for research; you must start learning from scratch.

If you stubbornly immerse yourself in outdated and rotten ideas that should be swept into the trash, you will be eliminated.”

After a friendly communication, Lance finally ended this harmonious meeting.

These people would undergo a period of learning and then integrate into the Hamlet system.

”Please advise them to bring their families to Hamlet so I can ensure they won’t be persecuted by the association.”

The professor left to discuss subsequent related matters with Lance, mentioning something during this time.

”I know a bit about the people the association sent, different from these ordinary folks from the academy,” the professor said.

Though the professor had been kicked out by the association, he still had some understanding of its internal workings.

Seeing his solemn appearance, Lance was curious and smiled, signaling, ”Please, professor, go ahead.”

”Perhaps aware from previous reports that Hamlet’s medical techniques are surgical, the association sent a surgical doctor this time, but his methods are somewhat... radical.”

Lance had briefly learned about current medical techniques from Paracelsus.

Popular were still those bizarre doctrines, while surgical methods were not in the mainstream.

According to the professor, this surgical doctor was also not accepted by ordinary people because his methods were too brutal, often involving slicing open patients’ abdomens, even opening their skulls while alive.
