Transmigrated as an Unwanted Ugly Girl

Chapter 634: Chapter 329: The Feasibility of a Cesarean Section (Part 2)

Qin Feng and Yun Ying were stunned once again. Yun Ying covered her mouth with a hand, afraid she would cry out.

Juhua looked at their expressions and frowned. ”Doctor Qin, I thought you were an open-minded person, not someone who would be bound by formalities or constrained by common superstitions. A doctor’s duty is to care for their patients like a parent, so what’s wrong with using some unconventional methods if it improves your medical skills? When a person dies, it’s like a lamp going out. This whole ’don’t disturb the dead’ business is utter nonsense. If I die before you, I’ll be sure to leave instructions in my will to give you my body for dissection. You must understand that practicing on a human corpse is far more effective than practicing on animals. After all, humans and animals aren’t built the same.”

Yun Ying finally couldn’t help but say, ”But who thinks like you? Who would be willing to hand over a loved one’s body for us to take a knife to?”

Juhua shot her a sideways glance. ”Aren’t there death-row prisoners? And you can find unidentified bodies... Of course, that’s a method you can use in the future. If you can’t find any now, then just forget it and practice on animals. Also, you must not tell my family about this. When it’s time for the birth, I’ll figure out a way to tell Huai Zi, and only him.”

But Qin Feng smiled and said to Juhua, ”Don’t worry, I understand. I won’t rashly perform surgery on you. I have a way to solve this.” He then turned to Yun Ying and said, ”You have to be the one to do this—it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to perform a caesarean section on Juhua, but I will assist you and arrange everything. If you master this technique, you’ll be able to save many lives in the future. It will not have been in vain that Master taught you.”

Yun Ying shot him a quick glance, then lowered her head and said resolutely, ”Rest assured, Senior Brother. I will make sure Juhua and her child are safe.”

She immediately felt that something was off. She looked up and saw Juhua staring intently at her, and she instantly grew uncomfortable again. ”If you want to punish me,” she said, ”just say it.”

With a great weight lifted from her mind, Juhua’s mood lightened. She asked leisurely, ”Punish you? Why would I punish you?”

Yun Ying asked joyfully, ”You don’t blame me anymore?”

Juhua stared at her and asked in a low voice, ”Is it so important whether I blame you or not? My health was already poor, and it has nothing to do with Doctor Qin. If I could have gotten the medicine he sent, I would have been delighted, of course. But since I didn’t, I can’t blame anyone. To get it is my luck; to lose it is my fate. It’s not that I’m magnanimous. It’s just that even killing you now wouldn’t make me better, so why should I be angry? Besides, aren’t you already torturing yourself? It just goes to show you can’t do things that weigh on your conscience. ’Just deserts’ may not come immediately—they might come later, or even be visited upon your children and grandchildren. Karma isn’t so easily settled.”

Tears streamed down Yun Ying’s face. She wasn’t just torturing herself—she had lost so much more! Qin Feng’s expression also darkened, the earlier joy gone from his face.

Juhua paid her no mind and continued, ”I know you’re suffering. Frankly, it’s not my place to get involved, but if you don’t resolve this inner turmoil, I’m afraid your life will be difficult from now on. How about I make a request? It will also save you from this self-torment. From now on, you will stay here in Qingnan Village.”

With tears in her eyes, Yun Ying looked up at her in surprise. Qin Feng, however, didn’t find it strange—Juhua had been trying to persuade him to stay just last night.

’I’m being a little shameless,’ Juhua thought. ’Using this opportunity to blackmail her into staying here for the rest of her life... that’s even longer than the Fifth Prince detained Qin Feng. I really am going a bit too far!’

But she wasn’t about to give up. Feigning displeasure, she asked, ”What, is that so difficult? I’m not asking you to do the impossible, nor am I using this to blackmail you. I’m just asking you to move your medical practice to Qingnan Village. You can practice medicine anywhere, can’t you? You’ve seen our village. It’s not some desolate backwater; on the contrary, it’s quite beautiful. Practicing medicine and saving people here wouldn’t be such a terrible chore, would it? Just yesterday, I was telling your senior brother that he should stay here to practice and teach apprentices.”

Yun Ying asked in a trembling voice, ”That’s it?”

Juhua hesitated for a moment before saying, ”That’s my only request. If you agree, I’ll even help you out with a few things. If your father were still alive, I wouldn’t force you to come here. But I heard from your senior brother that your father has passed away, so what ties do you have left? The people here are all very good. They may be a bit coarse, but they are simple and honest.”

Yun Ying nodded forcefully. ”Alright, I’ll stay. Even if my father were alive, he would have wanted me to come here. My father...” Her words trailed off into sobs.

Juhua had been racking her brain for reasons to convince her to stay, so she was overjoyed when Yun Ying agreed so readily. But then she heard her crying about her father and said irritably, ”What are you crying for? You’re doing what your conscience dictates. Your father’s spirit in heaven would surely be happy to see this. Hmph, it’s a good thing he’s no longer around! If he were still alive and found out you threw away the medicine he worked so hard to formulate, all because of a moment of jealousy, he’d probably die from anger on the spot!”

That really did it. Yun Ying let out a loud ”WAAAH!” and started crying uncontrollably, choking on her sobs. The sound startled Juhua. She looked up at Qin Feng, only to see that his face was ashen as he abruptly stood up and walked out.

Juhua stared, dumbfounded. ’What’s wrong?’

’I didn’t say anything wrong, did I?’ she thought, carefully replaying her words in her mind.

Seeing Yun Ying crying so sorrowfully, she tried to coax her, albeit impatiently. ”No matter how heartbroken you are, you need to put it aside for a moment. It’s not good to cry like this in my house—people will think I’m bullying you! Besides, what did I even say that’s worth crying over like this? I received terrible news today and I haven’t even cried yet. I feel like I’m the one who should be having a good cry to be normal. And why did your senior brother look so angry too?”

Yun Ying couldn’t stop crying. Hearing Juhua’s question, she spoke haltingly between sobs, ”My father... My father... he was... angered... to death... by me...”

Juhua was stunned. ’No way. Was the old man really that easily angered?’
