I AM the Football Star

Chapter 350: Chapter 104: Joint Lawsuit, Champion’s Light (10,000-Word Chapter) (Part 3)

Such players, whose professionalism has already begun to decline, find it hard to bring exciting and intense matches to everyone, and it’s equally difficult to actually achieve heavy-weight glory again.

This is particularly evident in basketball games.

These two situations are overly polarized.

So... Martivini, to be fair, hopes Lu Yang goes on the field, but he can’t say that.

Saying it would offend too many people.

Martivini looked at Maniero.

The implication being you are familiar, why don’t you persuade Sotu?

Who knew Maniero shook his head at Lu Yang and said, ”You can’t keep playing; you need to rest well. And if your knee injury relapses, even if you get on the field, you won’t be able to make any contribution.”

”Besides, the Italy National Youth Team needs you this summer.”

Once Maniero spoke, people around didn’t say anything more.

Everyone knows, Maniero was Lu Yang’s first benefactor, and his words carry weight.

What’s more, if Lu Yang, whose injury hasn’t healed, were to play in the Italian Cup final, the injury would definitely relapse.

At that time, he might not make it to this summer’s European Youth Championship!

This year’s European Youth Championship is a life-or-death battle for the Italian Football Association.

Similarly, for the selected players, it holds particularly significant meaning.

European Youth Championship, World Youth Championship, Olympics... Players in teams that perform well in these major competitions will gain a lot of outside attention.

This level of attention is basically the ”whole world of football.”

Take Jan Ram, this central defender, as an example.

He is from Liverpool’s youth academy, and it seems he was loaned to the Portuguese Super League or the Eredivisie, Belgian First Division A, or some similar league this season, and his performance should be okay.

But speaking of notoriety... besides those who noticed him because of last year’s Star of Italy, it’s probably only that portion of Liverpool’s local fans who like to find young talents.

And Ram, who is counted as the top young player among Italian youth, has only this level of attention.

The attention other young people get can be imagined.

This is not an isolated case but a universal situation.

However, once they make a name for themselves in international tournaments like the European Youth Championship, the notoriety and value of every player on the team will soar.

Even if it doesn’t soar, the opportunities and invitations from big teams will definitely multiply geometrically.

Because they are all young, each of them has infinite possibilities.

This is a faster path than fighting your way out in top leagues.

Sevajos is doing great in Ligue 1, but when it comes to notoriety, it’s only limited to within Ligue 1. Outside of Ligue 1, no one recognizes Sevajos, especially non-professional level fans, for whom Sevajos and other young players are not much different.

And any player who helps Italy compete in the European Youth Championship and achieves good results can quickly earn a reputation no less than Sevajos.

This kind of major tournament is a must-contest ground for young talents!

”So if it were you, faced with my situation, what would you do?” Lu Yang looked into Maniero’s eyes.

”I would rest well!” Maniero said and then left the ward.

Lu Yang watched Maniero’s back, the corners of his mouth slightly tilting upward.

You’re lying, Maniero.

Otherwise, why wouldn’t you dare face my eyes?

Instead, you chose to escape and leave?

You know your innermost desire!

You approve of my actions!

Right?

Lu Yang was very certain of this.

And this was the reason for his next action that many couldn’t understand.

He... wants to do what Maniero wanted to do but couldn’t!

He wants to help Maniero fulfill his vision of the future!

Because this seemingly deadlock situation has another solution for Lu Yang.

As long as he completes Maniero’s vision, Lu Yang can acquire the Superstar Skill ”Ironman,” the greatest ability of this skill being... illness exemption!

So... the problems everyone is worried about, such as sequelae, really aren’t problems for Lu Yang. Even issues like meniscus wear and whether playing style needs to change can all be once-and-for-all solved by the Ironman skill.

The only problem Lu Yang truly needs to overcome is to recover as much as possible within a month, and then find a way to lead San Remo in a showdown against AC Milan in the Italian Cup final!

”Conservative treatment! I want to participate in the Italian Cup final!” Lu Yang’s words were decisive.

In the ward, some sighed, some gasped, some showed sorrow, some rejoiced.

...

”Breaking! Minor injury is no big deal! Lu Yang is confirmed to participate in the Italian Cup final!”

”Fortunately! Lu Yang is undergoing treatment, and might undergo thorough surgery in summer to eliminate future troubles, so please rest assured everyone!”

Martivini and Mr. Russell were the first to announce some results.

The former needed the ”miracle still exists” gimmick.

The latter had to reassure San Remo’s fans.

They both had to let everyone know something as soon as possible.

But similarly, people like Sotu, Morici, Sofia, etc., refused to talk about Lu Yang’s injury, declining to tell the media more.

This inevitably raised some people’s suspicions.

And as long as there is a will, it can be done.

The most salable thing in the world is information, and the most difficult thing to keep is also information.

The Republican Newspaper quickly found Dr. James Xu, an authority in sports medicine, who judged: ”Lu’s knee injury is quite serious and cannot possibly heal within a month.”

”The fastest would be two months, unless conservatively treated.”
