I AM the Football Star

Chapter 314: Chapter 99: I, Lu Yang, Seek Abuse!

Seeing the goal, Versachi didn’t hesitate to take off his shirt and celebrate.

He knew he would get a card, but he couldn’t control himself!

I’ve laid it out, not pretending anymore!

To beat a Serie A team like Sampdoria so convincingly, I, Versachi, am truly excited!

The players of San Remo almost all rushed over, celebrating wildly.

Of course, there’s a bit of time-wasting in all this.

A large group of people ran off the field, tightly embracing with the substitute teammates and coaching staff, as if they didn’t have to play for the next few minutes.

Lu happily went over to greet Sofia in passing.

He was so engrossed in the match that he barely interacted with Sofia.

But this wouldn’t affect his friendship with Sofia.

After the match, he has an extended vacation, during which he can spend lots of time with Sofia doing what she loves... like some movie promotions.

Honestly, being able to spare half a day to watch Lu Yang play football amidst the premiere’s explosive success, Sofia is really considerate.

That’s like Chen Jicheng agreeing to go home and make dumplings with Tong Liya after the box office results of ”Detective Tangren 3” came out in the initial two days.

Practically impossible!

He didn’t even go home during those few days!

However, among those celebrating, Morici’s shadow was missing.

He stood alone in the opponent’s half, watching his teammates celebrate from afar.

Because in football rules, if players from both teams are in their respective halves, theoretically, the Main Referee can whistle to restart the match.

All players from Sampdoria were in their half.

If all San Remo players left the field, it would also meet that condition.

So Morici had to stay in the opponent’s half, refusing to leave, not budging even when pushed.

Scenes like this often occur in real matches, especially in major competitions, showcasing the players’ caution.

For example, in the 2018 World Cup group stage between Portugal and Spain, when C Luo equalized for Spain, teammate Moutinho signaled the trailing Fonte not to rush out of the field but stay within the sidelines.

Similarly, during England’s Kane’s header goal in stoppage time, while everyone was celebrating, Trippier stayed in the opponent’s half and didn’t join the celebration for the same reason.

Sampdoria’s players didn’t bother to argue with the referee.

What’s the point of that one or two minutes?

Chase three goals?

They’re professionals, aren’t they aware of how difficult it is to score three goals in ten minutes?

Besides, who believes that?

Do the fans believe?

Alright then, ask who can do it?

Can anyone in Samp do it?

Even if their two main stars are present today, they might not have the confidence.

Of course, someone on San Remo’s side puffed out their chest.

Yes, that’s right!

It’s him!

It’s him!

If I, Naji, want to, why would three own goals need ten minutes?

Pour the wine and I’ll be right back!

Leaving for a while, the wine is still warm upon return!

Seven minutes later, the Main Referee blew the whistle to signal the end of the match.

After experiencing three consecutive cup match overtimes, San Remo finally secured a victory in regular match time again.

Moreover, it was a sweeping victory!

Considering Lu Yang’s previous ”threat.”

Calling it a slaughter wouldn’t be excessive.

San Remo’s fans went wild with joy!

Final Four!

Italian Cup Final Four!

To put it simply, of all the teams in Italy, San Remo is at least the fourth most incredible!

Of course, that’s an exaggerated view.

But that’s how the fans like to think.

This is the meaning of being a champion.

Even if it doesn’t prove you’re the strongest, it makes fans think you are the strongest!

No matter the reason, a champion is always a champion; even stepping on a stepping stone counts!

Whether it’s a team or a player, historical status can only be established by championships, while the other hype will eventually recede like a tide.

Otherwise... to use an inappropriate example.

Kane today is Batistuta tomorrow.

Though strong indeed, recognition or awareness from new fans is really decreasing.

...

The post-match press conference became the most attended place by Italian media today, bar none.

Even today’s other quarterfinal match didn’t attract as much attention as San Remo’s side.

If half of the media had come due to Sofia and Lu Yang before,

Then the other half came after learning San Remo might defeat Sampdoria.

And the facts hadn’t disappointed them; San Remo hadn’t just defeated, they slaughtered Samp!

First up is Samp’s head coach, who came solo, facing the media with some helplessness.

”We weren’t fully prepared; we have league pressures. The players on the field today didn’t perform well enough; they still lack cohesion and haven’t found their form.”

”Of course, this can be called a pre-match decision mistake. We mistakenly thought this lineup was enough to win, but the result showed we were wrong.”

”Lu Yang and Morici from San Remo left a deep impression on me, and Becher’s and substitute star Versachi were equally impressive. It’s not surprising that San Remo, with such excellent players, are leaders in the Italian Third Division.”

”I think they have the strength to compete in Serie B and achieve certain results!”

”Lastly, Sotu’s tactical level exceeded my expectations; he’s a very outstanding Head Coach. His tactical arrangements today amazed me, and in the future Serie A, there will surely be another renowned coach!”
