I AM the Football Star

Chapter 349: Chapter 104: Joint Lawsuit, Champion’s Light (10,000-Word Chapter) (Part 2)

So this problem was ignored by everyone.

Even Carrel, the King of Purple Lilies and best at long-range shots in Serie A, hasn’t been heard of having any leg injuries.

After all, people’s physical conditions cannot be generalized.

Besides, does Carrel really have no issues?

Not necessarily!

At least the few injuries Carrel is known for all occurred around his ankle, which could also be the backlash from his long-range shooting.

What level is Lu Yang without long-range shooting?

No one dares to imagine.

Because since Lu Yang’s debut, long-range shooting has always been his most proficient scoring method.

Apart from defense, all his threats are built upon long-range shooting.

”It’s all my fault!” Sotu said from the side, looking pale, ”This season, I greatly increased the long-range shooting tasks I assigned to Lu Yang and put him in the attacking midfielder position. Although it liberated his offense, it also brought a great burden to his body. Plus, there is no reasonable rotation for Lu Yang’s position in the team, so...”

Sotu thinks he is the one who wore Lu Yang out.

”Blame me!” Morici also said, ”If I wasn’t injured, Lu wouldn’t have to bear such heavy offensive pressure, thus relying mainly on long-range shots to score. It’s all my fault...”

Perhaps the only one present without much emotional fluctuation was Sofia.

Honestly, if Lu Yang stopped playing football and became a Hollywood screenwriter or a famous singer-songwriter, there wouldn’t be any problem at all.

Why insist on earning money through such hard work like playing football?

Playing football is really tiring; Sofia always feels heartache watching Lu Yang play.

No wonder Lu Yang has no energy to enjoy life with her, oh no, to accompany her through life.

Now that Lu Yang has a chance to leave the field, she still feels some small happiness.

After all, the doctor said that if he wasn’t an athlete, these would be minor issues.

Of course, Sofia couldn’t show this emotion.

As a considerate partner, she shouldn’t impose her will over her partner’s.

Instead, she should stand from her partner’s position and think about issues during crucial times.

So Sofia’s eyes quickly reddened.

”Blame me!” Sofia’s tears fell in big drops, making Morici and Sotu appear somewhat insincere by comparison, ”It’s all my fault for not letting Lu rest well. I took too much of his rest time. I really... oh... I’m so sad. It’s all my fault...”

Sofia originally meant that she dragged Lu Yang around for promotions and such.

But everyone present heard only... clap, clap... clapping sounds...

Everyone’s faces changed.

Sofia’s agent hurried to cover her mouth.

My dear Sofia, having relations with a minor is illegal!

Low profile, low profile!

”Can I recover in a month?” Lu Yang spoke up.

The doctor frowned: ”Conservative treatment? Possible, but... it will leave sequelae unless you guarantee no intense activity for six months. Once you engage in intense activity again, the injury will most likely recur. At that time, it will be more severe, and if repeated like this, it might cause lifelong damage.”

Lu Yang shook his head: ”The Italian Cup final kicks off in a month, and I want to participate in that match. Before the match, I need my body to reach a playable standard. After the match, I will immediately undergo thorough treatment.”

”No way!” Sotu immediately opposed.

To be fair, no one hopes more than Sotu that Lu Yang can play in the Italian Cup final.

Because no one understands better than Sotu the importance of Lu Yang to San Remo.

Without Lu Yang, San Remo’s winning rate is zero!

Not close to zero, but directly zero!

That’s AC Milan!

But even so, Sotu won’t allow Lu Yang to joke about his body: ”You must receive treatment immediately. I won’t arrange for you to participate in the Italian Cup final!”

San Remo has already achieved the early season goals.

There is no need to risk Lu Yang’s future for the sake of perfection and miracles.

This is very irrational.

”How to treat it is my problem. You’re the head coach. You can advise me on the choices, but you cannot order me, because this is outside the field.” Lu Yang is very decisive and even arbitrary, also leaving no room for doubt.

Martivini stood aside with an awkward expression, not knowing how to speak.

He certainly hopes Lu Yang appears in the final, even if it means playing with an injury.

To know those sponsors swarming in, about thirty percent are very eager to see Lu Yang play.

They are here for the San Remo miracle.

And without Lu Yang, there is no miracle for San Remo.

However, Martivini was also once a player and knows that going on the field injured requires extreme caution.

Some injuries can allow playing on the field.

But some injuries cannot be challenged rashly before fully healing.

In the past, players didn’t have enough self-protection consciousness and often fought with bravery, going out injured when they shouldn’t have.

Plus, their career planning wasn’t clear and didn’t control their lifestyle well, leading to relatively short careers.

Oftentimes, after thirty, they couldn’t play well anymore, and their form declined significantly.

Unlike Ibrahimovic Ronaldo and the like, though their skills have declined a bit at an older age, in horizontal comparison they still overshadow most stars in the same position, an undeniable fact.

But similarly, some future players have too strong a self-protection consciousness. They often refuse to play in games they could go on injured, overly considering their own interests, resulting in immediately exiting for minor injuries, and missing several matches even for a finger being cut.
