I AM the Football Star

Chapter 329: Chapter 101: The Core of the National Youth Team, the Man-Eating Red Wolf! (13,000-Word Warm-Up)

”It’s a pity, Italy’s number one Gate God is simply too steady, suppressing generation after generation of second goalkeepers. Ameluci is the second top-class goalkeeper to remain as the second goalkeeper until he retires from the national team.”

”Sogel’s header was very powerful, although Ameluci punched it away, the ball veered towards the side of the field.”

”Becher’s has the ball, he’s charging into the penalty area!”

”He got past! Becher’s bypassed the defending Drake who rushed back, pulled out a step, and takes a long shot from the right side of the penalty area with his left foot!”

The football curled into a beautiful arc.

Bang!

Ameluci, paying close attention, suddenly leapt up and punched the ball away, rejecting yet another goal attempt from San Remo.

Rome showed San Remo what Copper Wall and Iron Wall means!

Their midfield and goalkeeper are unquestionably top Serie A quality!

Ameluci’s performance was impeccable.

If one must pick bones in the egg, perhaps the ball wasn’t punched too far by him, a minor flaw.

Becher’s shot was very spin-heavy, with a large arc, Ameluci was able to judge the approximate route and punch the ball away, which is already divine-level.

Despite the spin, the ball soared high but didn’t travel far, landing within the penalty area.

In an instant, turmoil erupted within the penalty area, as Sogel, Becher’s, Lu Yang, and Rome’s four defenders plus one defensive midfielder began fierce physical confrontations.

Staring at the high ball for a long time, it’s truly difficult to judge the landing spot.

Central defense requires watching the ball and the position.

This gave a more favorable position to Lu Yang and his two teammates, who could focus solely on the ball.

The fierce spin of the football made stopping the ball extremely hard.

This ball, even clearing is difficult.

Similarly, shooting it is also tough.

Having played some matches as a central forward, Lu Yang was somewhat familiar with the muscle forest, and he blocked the final falling point.

And he made a jumping movement in advance.

The central defender confronting Lu Yang jumped at that moment.

He was taller than Lu Yang, and jumping together meant Lu Yang would likely not leap over him.

Especially in their physical confrontation, Lu Yang had no space for a sprint jump.

But what he didn’t expect was, Lu Yang didn’t jump at all!

It was all a deceptive maneuver!

He passed through Lu Yang’s whole world!

After faking his opponent, Lu Yang adjusted his position slightly.

The football nearly brushed against the Roman defender’s scalp as it dropped smoothly from the air.

Uh...

Soon, a wave of helplessness and discomfort surged from everyone watching.

Because the football that was supposed to bounce up didn’t bounce up!

It seemed to stick to Lu Yang’s right foot.

Marcelo’s foot-covering ball control!

When divine, it’s truly divine!

Lu Yang turned left with his left foot, stepped forward with his right foot, about to face the goal.

Everyone knew it would be a turning shot.

Another Roman defender jumped up attempting to block the shot with his body.

Ameluci decisively made a saving move, covering the remaining space left by the defender.

This is absolutely divine-level cooperation!

This was also Ameluci’s third consecutive Serie A top-level save.

However...

Lu Yang’s right foot landed, yet the football did not fly out!

The football remained stuck to Lu Yang’s right foot.

Meanwhile, the Roman central defender and Ameluci were both airborne.

After the right foot lands, naturally the left foot should be moved.

Lu Yang’s supporting left foot jumped quickly forward, creating space, then tilted his body left, hooked the football with his right foot and ”threw” it!

Yes!

Throw!

Instead of kick!

The difference between the two is that when throwing, there is no sound of the instep clashing with the football!

This is a shooting motion that rarely appears in football.

More like a lob pass, but the football stuck to Lu Yang’s instep from start to finish.

Ameluci and the Roman central defender almost completely blocked Lu Yang’s shooting space.

Yet because of Lu Yang’s ”ball sticking”, their prime blocking time was evaded by Lu Yang.

When Lu Yang released the ball, Ameluci and his own central defender’s waists crossed each other, creating an ”empty space” barely larger than the football.

This is also why Lu Yang chose to ”throw the ball”.

That angle, only throwing the ball was more reliable.

And after foot covering the ball, without it touching ground, the football could theoretically only be thrown out, or controlled first, create space then swing leg to shoot.

But Lu Yang evidently had no space for the latter operation.

Therefore...such a very special groundbreaking goal was born.

The central defender rising in the air regretted not descending faster, as if he descended quicker, he could have blocked that sole loophole!

Ameluci stared blankly as the football flew past his waist, recovering his elbow just a moment too late.

This former Italy’s second national goalkeeper, contributed continuous divine saves, refused San Remo twice a goal, but couldn’t refuse Lu Yang’s third ”shot”.

The football gently sank into the net.

Appearing very soft.

But it made every Roman defender’s heart tighten.

This Lu Yang, isn’t he somewhat too monstrous?

How the hell can this still be defended?

This guy...is sure this match only has this one Miracle Ball?

This match, are we really certain of an undefeatable victory?
