I AM the Football Star

Chapter 49: Chapter 21: This Strong After Getting First Blood?

”How’s it going?”

”Morici, what’s happening?”

”Is Lu sick?”

Morici was on the training ground, surrounded by coaches and teammates.

Everyone was puzzled and even alarmed by Lu Yang’s absence today.

Lu Yang never missed any training.

He had an extraordinary passion and perseverance for football.

But today... he was not on the training field.

Everyone was worried that something had happened to Lu Yang.

Because around this time last year, San Remo had suffered a major blow.

With a chance to be promoted to the Italian Third Division, their key central defender and team captain Rondo got seriously injured towards the end of the season. This directly caused them to falter at the last moment, missing the promotion.

This year, with Lu Yang and Morici leading, they fought from the relegation zone to the sixth place in the league standings.

This year, they were united and swore to enter the promotion zone.

But if something happened to Lu Yang, the team...

No one knew when, but Lu Yang, despite not playing a core role like Morici, had already become deeply ingrained in everyone’s mind.

On the defense line, he could fall back to help everyone.

In the midfield, he could sweep around, creating a good playing environment for everyone.

On the offense line, he could score and assist.

He was everywhere.

Everyone had great confidence in Lu Yang’s ability.

With Lu Yang’s usual calmness and wisdom, occasionally stabilizing his teammates’ emotions, he already had certain leadership qualities within the team.

Even Rondo exclaimed that given time, this youngest sixteen-year-old ”little chicken” in the team might be able to take over the captain’s armband from him and become a young captain!

Such a person, the team could not lack.

But all the worries everyone had dissipated in the next moment.

”He slept with Sofia!” Morici blurted out.

”What?”

Sotu, Tom, Rondo, Naji, Vedian, everyone was at a loss.

”What nonsense are you talking about, Morici? She’s my goddess!” Rondo, despite his wife’s objections, placed Sofia as the number one goddess in his heart.

”It’s true, they had dinner together last night. It was Sofia who invited Lu Yang,” Morici felt desperate, unable to believe it himself. Lu Yang was now no longer a virgin, and it was only him left as the ”little rookie,” ”And Lu Yang didn’t come back all night.”

”But that doesn’t necessarily mean they... did, you know,” Sotu couldn’t believe it. Such a great ’cabbage,’ how could it be taken by Lu Yang...

Morici continued, ”I heard Sofia’s voice on Lu Yang’s phone, you know, the kind of voice just after waking up... And before Lu Yang left, he told Sofia... they didn’t sleep all night, he had a great time, hoping to continue with Sofia next time...”

Pfft!

Vedian spat blood on the spot.

Didn’t sleep all night?

Impossible!

With his physique as a black man, he could barely manage seven times in one night totaling two hours, and that included taking breaks in between. Otherwise, at his fastest, he would be done in minutes.

And Lu Yang... all night?

It’s Sofia!

Facing such a goddess, Lu Yang could actually last all night?

Everyone on the field was shattered.

Unbelievable!

Incredible!

Unwilling to believe!

The purity of the goddess and the pride of men both crashed at this moment.

They thoroughly hated that guy named Lu Yang.

This realization hit Lu Yang deeply when he arrived at the training ground.

”Morici,” Lu Yang pulled Morici aside, ”Why is everyone looking at me today as if I stole their wives? I was just late, not absent without reason, isn’t this over the top?”

”I’m just a little shorty, don’t ask me,” Morici was haughty, miffed by Lu Yang’s words when facing Sofia.

”Uh... I was just waking up and not entirely clear-headed, don’t hold it against me,” Lu Yang offered his apology.

”Please don’t brag about just waking up, we all know now. You and Sofia spent the whole night together!” Morici’s eyes turned red, ”Yes, I’m the last virgin on the team, so what? I tell you, I believe in love, and I will find love in the future!”

Morici shouted.

The entire training ground went silent, then everyone stared at him.

”Morici actually...”

”My God, I thought he had already... otherwise why isn’t he growing?”

”He’s a year older than Lu Yang, and now Lu Yang’s already... and he’s still...”

The teammates were abuzz with chatter.

Morici’s face turned green.

Damn!

This was truly a social death!

...

Italian D League Round 32.

San Remo vs. Pagani Race.

This was a mid-table league team.

But they were very aggressive and pursued pure offensive football.

The reason they were in the middle of the league was because they insisted on attacking, but their defense was also quite poor while attacking.

The lower the league tier, the more such idealistic teams exist.

They could stick to some weird beliefs, even if it meant the team’s performance had to yield to these beliefs.

In higher leagues, such teams are very rare.

Only a very few well-funded big teams have the right to uphold certain creeds.

Like Athletic Bilbao’s requirement for player heritage.

Like Real Madrid’s galactico policy.

Like Bayern Munich’s dedicated low-cost poaching method.

Like Barcelona’s unwavering extreme possession football.

But Pagani Race was clearly not on the same level as them.
