I AM the Football Star

Chapter 27: Chapter 11: Miracle Ball Specialist—He’s the One Who Truly Belongs in Serie B!_2

The two defenders didn’t have time to turn around; they weren’t as agile as Lu Yang, so they chose to charge straight to the goal, just in case.

But the next moment, everyone in the stadium gasped in amazement.

Because Lu Yang didn’t try to control the football.

After turning and running two steps, he threw himself into the air, leaning his head back, and with a powerful kick from bottom to top, he struck towards the goal — a bicycle kick!

Bang!

The football was hit hard by Lu Yang and arced towards Bisceglie’s goal with a large curve.

The goalkeeper was baffled and completely couldn’t catch the football.

Bisceglie’s left-back couldn’t catch up either.

Bisceglie’s central defender desperately took off at the goal line, trying to intercept this incredible shot.

Unfortunately...

White wave rolled in.

The whole stadium fell into a dead silence.

Three seconds later, the commentator went wild!

”GOAL! GOAL! GOAL!”

”It’s in, Lu Yang scored again!”

”A bicycle kick! This is the first bicycle kick goal in the Italian D League in the past five seasons!”

”But I’m sure this is definitely the farthest bicycle kick goal in Italian Football, no, in World Football!”

”Thirty-three meters, my god, this kick was actually thirty-three meters!”

”You can never believe this is something humans can do!”

”Look at Lu Yang’s posture, how graceful he was before he jumped; this is the most beautiful goal of the year!”

”Sorry, I forgot about the incredible shots, but regardless of who’s is the most beautiful, the rest players can only compete for third place!”

”This is a golden goal, Lu Yang decided the match!”

”This simply is a match belonging to Lu Yang; he dominated the whole field!”

”He froze the opponent’s top star and even forced him off the field due to injury. He bravely stood up when the team was two goals behind, initiated a counterattack with an assist, and equalized the score with a blast shot! Now, he killed Bisceglie with an incredible long-distance bicycle kick!”

”Bisceglie, the giant of the Italian D Division, collapsed! San Remo took all three points and returned victoriously!”

”This is absolutely the best goal of this round of the league, maybe even this season in the Italian D Division!”

If the referee hadn’t blown the whistle to end the match, the commentator probably would never stop his excited heart and thrilled mouth.

He was unfinished.

Everyone was unfinished.

Especially those spectators who came to watch the match due to the conflict between Lu Yang and Arnold.

Sometimes, becoming a fan of someone requires only watching one match.

Today, all the spectators present were miserable because once you see Lu Yang, you’re hooked for life!

...

After the match, Lu Yang, who scored twice and got two goals and an assist, was undoubtedly chosen as the best player of the match.

And he received an astonishing score of ten.

It’s rare to see a perfect score in lower-level leagues, because no matter what, you’re in lower-level leagues.

But Lu Yang was different this time.

Because even top league superstars might find it hard to play out such a classic goal in their lifetime.

Thirty-meter bicycle kick goal, unimaginable!

During the post-game interview, Lu Yang became the focal point.

Journalist: ”This is your first time starting on the field; did you expect to have such a spectacular performance before the match?”

Lu Yang: ”No, because I didn’t expect Bisceglie’s top star Arnold to be so easy to defend. I felt the defensive pressure he brought me was far less than what Vedian brought to me.”

Journalist: ”But Arnold is currently the top scorer.”

Lu Yang: ”Now he’s only one goal ahead of Vedian. I think Vedian will soon surpass him.”

Journalist: ”Are you saying this because you know Arnold’s injury situation? He has a thigh muscle strain, estimated to miss four to six games, about a month and a half. Do you feel guilt and remorse for this? He’s injured because of you!”

Lu Yang: ”Sorry, I need to correct you. He got injured in a non-contact situation, and in such cases, we often can’t put the blame on the opposing player. Besides, I haven’t learned the true skill from my Head Coach yet, so I’m currently not capable of incapacitating the opponent’s players; you’re overestimating me.”

On the other side, Sotu was baffled at the scene.

Is this talking about ruining people?

Are you implying I’m good at incapacitating?

I play clean and fierce football, fierce but not dirty, don’t you understand!

Is this really a fellow player?

It’s inhuman!

Likewise, Vedian, who completed one goal and one assist in this match, was also very grateful to Lu Yang for speaking up for him.

After all, Arnold’s reputation is much greater than his.

The reporter was obviously from Bisceglie, and he retorted, ”Even if Vedian scored more goals than Arnold, he’s still not as good as Arnold. Arnold is more mature in terms of physical confrontation, shooting, and passing.”

Lu smiled, ”So what? Do you know the biggest difference between a talented player and a pseudo-talented player?”

The reporter was stunned.

What?

Lu said, ”A talented player possesses absolute talent. For example, Vedian, his speed is the best in the Italian D Division. Don’t be fooled by the fact that he’s not much faster than Arnold, but it’s that tiny bit that sets him apart from Arnold.”

”Arnold’s speed, in Serie B, is not particularly fast. You can check the speeds of Serie B’s fast horses. But Vedian’s speed, even in Serie A, has a place. That’s called talent!”

”Physical confrontation, shooting, passing, these can be trained. We can’t say there’s a guarantee to develop them, but it’s possible to train them somewhat successfully. Moreover, Vedian shows signs that he can be trained; his shooting and passing are not too bad.”

”But speed, you can’t train that!”

”So the Arnold you see now is essentially the Arnold of the future, pretty much the same, with little potential to talk about. In contrast, Vedian has limitless possibilities; he is actually the one more suited for Serie B!”

Lu’s words made many reporters present open their mouths wide.

On one hand, they were very interested in Lu’s argument about talent.

It’s a very novel viewpoint.

But in fact, it’s also a kind of sophistry, this Lu knew well, because some people’s shooting really can’t be trained, right, Sterling?

On the other hand, the reporters heard Lu saying ”Vedian is more suited for Serie B,” which was a shocking statement, making their hearts race.

Is Lu sure he won’t be indefinitely banned by Sotu?

At least, Sotu will likely never take him for an interview again.

Saying the team’s leading striker is suited for Serie B would destabilize the team morale and ruin a great situation!

Lu, still too young!

The reporters then all began to smile. They could look forward to future conflict news between Lu, the shining star, and Sotu, the renowned coach.

Sotu wouldn’t allow such a destabilizing element in his team.

Don’t forget his nickname, the Butcher!

Meanwhile, Vedian was standing by with tears in his eyes.

Lu is truly a good brother!

To build his reputation, he didn’t hesitate to offend the head coach and the team.

This... can only be repaid through performance on the field!

From now on, Lu will be my big brother, Vedian!

...

”Lu, you need to give me an explanation.”

On the bus back to San Remo, Sotu pulled Lu to the back row with a calm face and got rid of the players sitting around.

Everyone knew the butcher was about to lose his temper.

This field bully had taken down two main players as soon as he arrived and then let two rookies from youth training fill the spots, very assertive methods.

Lu this time...

”No need to thank me.” Lu looked at Sotu without a trace of fear.

In fact, he never felt this so-called butcher person was scary.

Perhaps this was something he brought from the field.

As long as he’s on the green field, Lu wouldn’t fear anyone, whether it’s Sotu from Milan or Maniero from Juventus.

Besides, he got the butcher a yellow card and a free kick, and that free kick turned into a goal.

Later, he nutmegged the butcher and scored a goal worthy of competing for this year’s Puskas Award right in front of him.

What’s there to be afraid of?

Similarly, Lu could also feel, Sotu was different with him.

Sotu wasn’t tough and fierce with him, instead he showed some kind of... care.

Ha ha, this is human nature.

Often the more fierce a person is, the more they are a masochist.

The more brutal you are to him, the better he treats you.

Basically, it’s still a mentality that worships strong people.

And all this stems from that celebrity match.

The butcher was defeated by Lu!

To this, Lu could only say... thanks to Sisi.

”You mean, I should thank you?” Sotu laughed in anger, then sighed and said, ”The younger generation is formidable, Hans was indeed right, you’re different from ordinary players!”

Lu’s pupils shrank.

Hans?

Indeed, that guy and Sotu were truly not ordinary acquaintances!

These two cunning fellows!
