I AM the Football Star

Chapter 21: Chapter 9: Eevee Moment Card, Fatal Weakness

”Ding! You have acquired the player skill, Starting Player. When you start as part of the team lineup, you gain a five percent overall boost.”

”Ding! You’ve obtained a one-time Moment Card, Zlatan Ibrahimovic!”

”Damn! Damn, damn, damn!”

Lu Yang stopped opening packs; he had been holding onto a random gift pack without opening it. Seems like this time, he can save it for later.

It’s actually Ibrahimovic!

With him, what’s there to worry about in the next match?

This is the Ibrahimovic who only scores miracle balls!

This is the Ibrahimovic who declared, God first, me second!

This is the Ibrahimovic who’s the red rabbit among horses, the Ibrahimovic among people!

To be fair, Ibrahimovic’s life is full of controversy; his arrogance is world-renowned, but his skills are beneath Mei Luo, and there are even newcomers who can challenge him, yet his goals can always silence everyone.

When it comes to the brilliance of goals, who else but Ibrahimovic?

It’s clearly the system giving Lu Yang a hint that in the next match, you not only have to win but also win beautifully!

”Hey!” Morici hooked Lu Yang’s neck, ”Do you really think we can beat Bisceglie? They are currently top of the league!”

”And there’s Arnold. He’s really fast, feels almost like Vedian, both are black whirlwinds. How will you defend against him? He’s not as fragile as Vedian; he doesn’t lose the ball at the slightest touch.”

Vedian stood by, covered with black lines: ”Um... such an evaluation and comparison seem a bit disrespectful to me, don’t they?”

Morici laughed: ”Saying your shortcomings in front of you is respecting you, Vedian. You really should work on your physique a bit; that way, you can excel when you go to...”

Morici didn’t mention Benevento or Serie B, sensitive words, as Vedian leaving next season was a secret known only to the three of them.

”Don’t worry, I’ve watched Arnold play, and his speed isn’t faster than Vedian’s, just a lot stronger physically. Being noticed by a Serie B team is linked to Bisceglie’s overall excellent performance; he’s not as strong as everyone thinks.”

”You can also see this from his goals; in a top team environment, his goals are only two more than Vedian’s, which says a lot.”

”Arnold is indeed Bisceglie’s star player, but his impact on Bisceglie isn’t as significant as it seems. Actually, this is the real concern we should have.”

”Even if I manage to block Arnold, Bisceglie could still score!”

After Lu Yang spoke, Morici and Vedian’s expressions became serious.

This means they must create opportunities on the offensive end in the next match.

Only goals can win the match.

”Don’t worry, Vedian and I have developed some chemistry; we’ve been doing additional training these days, and I’m adapting to his style.” Morici gestured with an OK sign.

...

Game day arrived quickly.

This time, San Remo is playing away.

As they arrived at Bisceglie’s home ground, they were greeted by a roaring crowd.

There were at least over two thousand people in Bisceglie’s home stadium.

This is absolutely explosive attendance for the Italian D Division.

This relates to Bisceglie’s current top league position, as promotion is a highly appealing topic, regardless of the level.

Of course, among these two thousand people, there are also many who were attracted by the rivalry between Lu Yang and Arnold, fans who love drama.

”Is that Arnold? He looks like he can run really fast?”

”Of course he’s fast, the second-fastest in Italian D Division; his absolute speed is just slightly slower than San Remo’s Vedian. But the opportunities he creates are more than double those of the latter!”

”This highlights the significance of core strength, opposition, balance, and other factors.” Hans was chatting with the fans beside him, seated in the fan section, intending to witness Lu Yang fulfilling his promise.

In fact, Arnold was exactly like Vedian two seasons ago, very frail with poor opposition capability.

It was Hans’s advice that made him pay attention to this aspect.

But after gaining fame, he even... oh well, it’s best not to mention it, or Hans would get annoyed.

”Who is that? So young, he looks like a kid who hasn’t grown up yet!”

”He indeed hasn’t grown up.” During the relatively information-constrained era without national broadcasts, few knew Lu Yang, so Hans informed everyone, ”He’s called Lu Yang, 16 this year, just broke Italy’s youngest appearance and goal records in the last match.”

”You must know him, as he scored a stunning goal at the Italian Football Celebrity Match earlier this year. He nutmegged the Butcher Sotu, toyed with three Serie A-level defenders, deceived the Serie A-level goalkeeper with his eyes, and scored! Have you heard of his shot like logging?”

”Is it him? I know him! What a beautiful goal! By the way, is he a forward? Doesn’t seem very tall.”

”Uh... he’s a center back?”

”What? Hahaha, a center back? Not even 1.8 meters; is he here to give us points?”

”His defensive capability is strong, bringing a refreshing change to San Remo’s defense.”

”Don’t exaggerate, brother. 46 conceded goals in the first half of the season; what change can transform San Remo’s defense?”

Hans didn’t argue with the other party, because the match had started.

Unlike the previous match, both Lu Yang and Morici got the chance to start this time.
