I AM the Football Star

Chapter 43: Chapter 19: A Roar from 1.72 Meters Above Sea Level

Sofia Katrina debuted at 19, becoming famous all over Europe with ”The Look of Youth” and becoming that year’s European otaku goddess.

Afterward, her fame grew, and she was called one of Europe’s top ten beauties and one of the three most beautiful women in Italy.

But everything was destroyed when she was 24.

Despite Sofia’s many works and personal style being associated with words like sexy, beauty, and allure, Sofia’s views on gender relations were actually quite conservative.

When she was 24, she collaborated with a national treasure director of Italy, who wanted to exploit her.

Unexpectedly, she chose to reveal everything.

The national treasure director’s reputation was ruined, leading to his premature retirement and leaving behind chaos.

However, Sofia’s career took a great hit as she was tacitly blacklisted by the Italian entertainment circle.

From then on, the beautiful star vanished from public view.

Later, rumors spread that Sofia had grown tired of winning praise solely for her beauty and wanted to show a more intellectual side. She was trying her hand at behind-the-scenes production in the film industry, learning to become an excellent screenwriter and director.

But progress seemed difficult.

Sofia couldn’t receive directorial opportunities from anyone in the country anymore; she had been blacklisted. And it was tough to earn investors’ trust with her own writing.

Four years later, now 28-year-old Sofia had been away from the entertainment industry for four years.

No one expected her to appear in San Remo, the city known as Sunshine City.

Even more surprising, she was having a pleasant chat with Lu Yang, the star player of the Sanremo Football Club.

”This is ridiculous!” Rondo wiped his eyes repeatedly; there was no way he would mistake Sofia, the goddess of their youth!

When Sofia debuted nine years ago, she was a stunning beauty, and Rondo was just twenty-five, a fan of hers.

”This is absurd!” Morici gritted his teeth, feeling like his little buddy was being taken away.

”This is really absurd!” Naji, who failed on a date, condemned God for being unfair.

Giving Lu Yang soccer skills and making him handsome too!

”I must be hallucinating.” Vedian, who had parted on bad terms with the dark-skinned girl due to speed, had also returned.

In the booth.

”That’s the story I know, and actually, your story has a lot of similar points in its main structure,” Lu Yang was talking freely with Sofia. ”Honestly, don’t get mad, but your script tries to express a lot, which is good, but the overall story is too thin to carry all those things you want to convey.”

”If you could make some breakthroughs in the storyline, such as combining it with the story I just mentioned, I think it would be very engaging.”

”Exciting suspense stories are never afraid to throw clues to the audience. On the contrary, each clue they throw out guides the audience to make a guess about the case. But it’s definitely not the truth, as they ensure the truth is reserved for the final moment.”

”That’s the core control of a suspense drama!”

After Lu Yang spoke, Sofia didn’t respond immediately but looked straight at Lu Yang.

”Sorry, was I too harsh with my words? Actually...” Lu Yang didn’t finish speaking.

Because Sofia had already kissed him on the cheek.

”You’re really amazing! Every word you say inspires me; you’re so talented... has anyone ever told you that you’re very charismatic when you speak?” After kissing him, Sofia hugged Lu Yang excitedly and rambled on, ”I know how to revise this script now, this time I can definitely succeed.”

”Sorry, I have to go back and remember every word you just said... oh, can I have your phone number? I think I’ll probably bother you many times over the next period...”

Lu Yang quickly exchanged phone numbers and names with her.

”I’m happy to assist you, but not when I’m playing matches, so...”

”Playing matches? You are?”

”Yes, I’m a football player, Sanremo Football Club.”

”No wonder I thought your muscles were so solid, just now my chest, uh... do all football players have strong builds like yours?”

”Not all, see that little guy over there who’s 1.72 meters, he’s quite weak.”

”He does seem rather underwhelming. When I finish my script, may I come to watch your game?”

”Of course, contact me in advance, and I’ll get you tickets.”

”Okay, I... well... may I ask, are you really only sixteen?”

”Yes, but... what determines a person’s maturity, aside from their physicality, is their mind, and the latter is even more important.”

In the end, Lu Yang and Sofia couldn’t remember what they were asking, why they were asking, or why they were answering.

Maybe... it was just instinctual.

They felt the information communicated by each other’s gaze and responded accordingly.

”Looking forward to seeing you next time!” Before leaving, Sofia gave Lu Yang a flirtatious wink.

It all seemed like a dream.

Until Lu Yang woke up the next day and saw Morici’s resentful look, he realized that the lip mark on his cheek from last night indeed existed.

During the afternoon training match, Sotu asked Tom: ”Have Morici and Lu Yang argued? Why does it seem like his playing style is strange today?”
