I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 525: Chapter 294: Kill: 8000_3

But as he thought about it, Gauss turned his head to look at Hephaestus beside him, who was doubting his dragon life.

Am I becoming more and more like this silly dragon?

Have I really become a human-shaped Giant Dragon?

Gauss shook his head.

But it’s not too bad.

Becoming stronger is always good, whether the casting method is unconventional or not, the essence of an attack spell is to be able to injure the enemy.

The magic that can kill stronger enemies is the better magic.

Dead enemies have no chance to complain to the gods about your dragon-like casting crimes.

But, the Fireball Technique must be quite taxing on the mouth.

Gauss pondered for a moment, unsure if his current constitution could withstand the burden of breathing out the Fireball Technique.

He decided to try transitioning with a 2nd Ring spell first.

He went through the magic he mastered in his mind.

Actually, not all magic is suitable for breath casting.

Take, for example, Modeling Magic: Clay, which requires actual clay as a casting medium; mere breath is of no use.

Or Heated Metal, controlling the enemy’s metal equipment to heat up.

In the end, he chose Cloud of Daggers.

”Shouldn’t be a problem, right?”

Gauss hesitated a bit.

To be honest, he hasn’t used this spell particularly frequently.

In his private daily magic practice, he had practiced it, but had not used it much in actual combat.

With this hesitation, Gauss began to attempt practice.

Not long after.

With a peculiar wave of magic power emanating from his mouth, this practice ended in failure.

”Cough cough!”

Gauss bent over and coughed lightly, spitting out a few sharp waves of magic power from his mouth.

The magic power left his body, sweeping onto the grass beneath.

Soon, the dispersed magic waves shredded the blades of grass.

After the test failed, Gauss felt the tingling sensation in his mouth was more pronounced than with the Magic Missile, accompanied by a slight burning sting.

But fortunately, his mouth had been modified, and with his decent constitution, the insignificant injuries healed instantly.

Gauss tried several more times.

Finally, after one casting attempt.

A sharp wave of magic power spat out from his mouth.

After leaving his mouth, it quickly expanded, sweeping towards the clearing in front of him.

”Crunch! Crunch! Crunch!”

The magic blade storm, like a cloud, emitted piercing collision sounds.

The earth’s lawn was plowed along its path, finally the blade cloud collided head-on with a heavily fractured giant rock.

Under the frenzied impact of the blades, the giant rock finally buckled, its surface shattered in spider-web cracks with a loud boom.

Gauss breathed a sigh of relief.

But judging from the breath casting of the 2nd Ring spell Cloud of Daggers, his current limit seemed to be only 2nd Ring.

The 3rd Ring Fireball Technique at most reduces some casting preparation, but wanting to achieve the effect of Flaming Arrow and Magic Missile coming right out of the mouth, is definitely beyond his reach for now.

The road to becoming a human-shaped Giant Dragon is long and arduous...

Gauss stopped practicing; staying away from his companion too long is not good.

He reached out to call over Hephaestus, who had been watching with wide eyes.

”What’s up, want to learn?”

Hephaestus nodded eagerly.

”Want to learn? I can’t teach you even if I wanted to.”

Gauss shook his head; although he’s ahead of Hephaestus in dragon-related matters.

But on how exactly to become a true dragon, it can only rely on its own efforts.

Maybe someday it will revert and become a Giant Dragon capable of spell casting?

When they first met, although he said he would teach it to use true dragon power, that was just casual talk.

”Keep at it!”

He patted Hephaestus’s head.
