I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 503: Chapter 285: The Tsundere Dragon (Part 2)

Gauss activated the Flying Technique and slowly ascended.

Finally, he landed on the dragon saddle.

As he sat down.

The entire set of tack slowly glowed with light.

”Take off.”

He patted the dragon beast’s neck.

The dragon beast was still somewhat reluctant to become a mount, but after hesitating for a moment, it flapped its wings and slowly left the ground.

”Boom! Boom! Boom!”

The airflow created by its wings scattered the surrounding dust.

Gauss sat on the dragon’s back, looking at the surrounding scenery, in high spirits.

He could still remember seeing President Abelhard’s magnificent griffin mount in Gray Rock Town, and the envy he felt at the time.

He had also thought of taming a griffin mount back then.

However, griffins were too expensive.

Unexpectedly, now he could have a Red Dragon Beast mount.

The Red Dragon Beast under him, although not yet mature, already exuded a majestic aura.

The Red Dragon Beast was far more formidable than the griffin in terms of specifications.

Sitting on the dragon beast’s back at this moment, he felt a sense of achieving his dreams.

He commanded the dragon beast to fly to other places.

Although a portion of its strength was sealed by golden chains, its flying speed was still very fast, far exceeding the speed of Gauss’s current Flying Technique.

Dragons are naturally the rulers of the sky.

There are very few species that can suppress them in the sky.

This is why Gauss, despite mastering the Flying Technique, still had to jump onto the dragon beast’s back during that battle, at the moment it dove down to attack.

In open terrain, it held absolute dominion unless encountered by an enemy adept at close combat.

The wind howled by his ears.

The azure magic crystal stones on the tack continuously emitted a soft glow, forming an invisible barrier over Gauss’s body.

The wind flowed past his body as if it encountered no resistance, gently slipping past him, allowing him to remain stable on the tack without feeling any turbulence from the flight.

The altitude continued to rise.

Gauss sat firmly in the dragon saddle, his hands gently resting on the tack, feeling the powerful force from each flap of the dragon beast’s wings.

The dragon beast’s initial flight was somewhat jerky and stiff, seemingly unaccustomed to the weight on its back.

However, soon, its instincts as the ruler of the sky began to awaken, and its movements became smooth and powerful, with its flight posture increasingly stable.

Through physical contact, Gauss could vaguely perceive the dragon beast’s emotions.

Initially, it was a bit irritable, but as it stretched its wings and soared, it gradually calmed down.

He attempted to cooperate further with the dragon beast.

By shifting his body weight to convey the intent to turn, after several attempts, the slightly sluggish dragon beast understood his message.

Gradually, it began to tilt its body and change its flight direction.

The tough scale bloodline in Gauss still had some effect.

Although the dragon beast was outwardly unwilling, it didn’t have much hostility towards Gauss who had subdued it, due to the presence of the tough scale bloodline.

Of course, part of the reason was its strength was weakened, making rebellion unlikely to succeed.

Unable to resist, it could only slowly learn to accept and coexist with Gauss.

Gauss maneuvered the dragon beast, circling the skies above the remote area on the outskirts of Gold and Silver Town, adapting to this unprecedented agility.

Soon, Gauss signaled the dragon beast to lower its altitude and gently landed on the open space where his comrades were waiting.

The dragon beast retracted its wings, and its heavy body caused a slight tremor as it landed.

”Congratulations, Lord Gauss!”

”How does it feel?”

His companions approached excitedly.

Gauss, astride the dragon beast, appeared a natural Dragon Knight, his composed demeanor and the crimson giant beast beneath him forming a harmonious picture, full of indescribable majesty and power.

Just like a hero from legend riding a dragon.

Although his current strength was still far from that of a hero.

Gauss flipped off the dragon’s back and jumped down.

”Very good. The big guy flew well, very responsive.”

Gauss patted the dragon beast beside him.

The dragon beast understood his meaning but turned its neck aside, deliberately avoiding looking at him, snorting with steam puffing from its nose.

Gauss looked at the dragon beast beside him, then at his companions, feeling a surge of anticipation for the future.

With the addition of the Red Dragon Beast, their team gained another formidable ally.

Aaliyah and the others gathered around him, eagerly asking about his experiences riding the dragon.

Faced with this scene, Gauss couldn’t help but feel a bit lost in thought.

As long as the journey continues, the team will grow ever stronger...

...

The day after landing.

Gauss began to resume his magic practice.

The improvement from this mission was not just limited to acquiring a Red Dragon Beast.

Everyone in the team experienced significant progress.

Especially Ying, who has remained at level 5 for a while, and Gauss himself.

Gauss could feel the source of the Magic Envoy’s power, the Magic Cup, once again overflowing.

Could he be upgrading again?

Is this pace fast?

In terms of time, it’s very fast!

Not long ago, he had promoted to level 4.

Burning the goblin nest was just three months ago.

For many professionals, this period is not even enough to fully adapt to changes after a level promotion.

But Gauss has already reached the threshold of the next level.

However, considering his experiences and adventures during this period, fast advancement seems understandable.

He learned the White Falcon Sword Skills, slew numerous Shasha Fishmen and Beach Goblins, took on a secondary profession, and prematurely mastered the Flying Technique and Fireball Technique meant only for level 5 Casters.

He defeated the Commander-level demon, the Petrified Bull, aided multiple villages in constructing defenses, and nurtured many professional seeds.

He also recently slew numerous Kobolds, the Commander-level demon Dragon-blooded Kobold, and tamed a Red Dragon Beast.

The team received rich adventure commissions, reaped significant public recognition, and vanquished a large number of minor monsters and powerful demons...

For other adventurers of the same level, completing these feats, especially in such a short time, would have been impossible.

Many experiences were seriously above the level for a level 4 adventurer, hence the unusually abundant ”experience.”

”These are the magic crystal stones and other materials prepared for you.”

Knowing Gauss faced a breakthrough, Aaliyah and others busily prepared for a day.

A mid-tier Earth Element magic crystal stone.

Such stones normally used by master-tier casters, but Gauss, having much more magic power than usual casters, required using mid-tier magic stones directly.

”No need to rush, the breakthrough might take a few more days.”

Seeing Aaliyah’s hurried demeanor, Gauss reassured her.

Despite fully healing from injuries, over days of recuperation, both his physical state and magical activity seemed to have declined to a certain degree.

It’s inevitable and needed a gradual recovery through training.

He estimated it might take a few more days.

He considered himself lucky; the physical injuries didn’t cause irreversible damage, only needing a return to optimal condition.

Many adventurers facing major injuries often experience varying degrees of decline, frequently stuck before breaking through level barriers, leading to lifelong regret.

”You should prepare well,” Aaliyah urged Gauss again amidst his calm demeanor.

Although each level advancement is crucial for professionals, level 5 is a specific stage compared to previous level 4.

Because it’s the last level for elite adventurers, the next is the master stage.

When casters upgrade from level 4 to 5, the typical enhancement is larger than that from level 3 to 4, as level 5 casters normally start learning 3rd-level spells.

Gauss’s amplification might be relatively small.

Since at level 4, he had bypassed level limits to master 3rd-level spells in advance.

Time quietly passed during Gauss’s orderly training.

...

In a small rural house in the wild.

His companions gathered outside, watching Gauss enter.

”Hope everything goes smoothly.”

”Don’t worry, the captain is talented, trust him more.”

”Are you sure you’re not kidding me? Lord Gauss just broke through to level 4 three months ago?” Albena incredulously reconfirmed the news she just learned with Aaliyah and others.

In her understanding, it seemed like a fantasy.

If not for Gauss being the subject, she would surely dismiss it as nonsense.

Professional level advancements weren’t typically measured in months.
