I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 382: Chapter 241: Despair Furnace_2

At the same time, Kaga had already mounted his gigantic bat steed.

Perhaps due to Glack’s roar, it briefly broke through the fear in his heart.

He suddenly yanked the reins, and the bat let out a shrill cry, then quickly flapped its wings, taking off into the air, headed towards the rift opening above.

The bat deftly weaved through the rifts.

This is the advantage of a bat steed over other flying units; it can navigate through narrow caves and canyons.

Kaga sat firmly on the bat’s saddle, with the sunlight filtering in through the rift above becoming increasingly blinding.

”There’s nothing to fear, he’s just an ordinary human, our food.”

He swallowed hard.

The warm sunlight gradually spilled over him, seemingly also granting him warmth and strength.

At this moment, he felt capable again.

We goblins are born plunderers; humans are merely our prey!

He tried hard to banish the cold figure of Gauss from his mind, attempting to reclaim the ferocity of his past hunts.

Finally, he broke through the dense darkness of the rift, soaring into the sky!

The warm sunlight completely enveloped him, returning him under the vast sky!

In the sunlight, he regained the courage he had lost.

It seemed like he had reverted to the spirited sky knight Kaga once more!

The bat beneath him was briefly dazed, having abruptly transitioned from darkness to brightness and hovered in the air as it adjusted.

Taking advantage of this time, Bat Knight Kaga turned his head to look down, searching for any possible enemies.

Suddenly, a piercing light from below flashed into his eyes.

He squinted slightly, just about to take a closer look, but the dazzling light rapidly enlarged in his frozen gaze!

No way!

An enemy attack!!

From the high slope, a giant crossbow arrow, comparable to a spear, shot out from a ballista emanating a deadly aura.

”Bang!!!” A muffled and powerful blast echoed through the valley.

The black arrowhead, leaving the bowstring, gleamed coldly in the sunlight.

It was rapidly closing in at an unbelievable speed!!!

He was just about to pull the reins, but it was already too late.

This premeditated attack was simply too fast.

Even though he burst through the rift, bathed in sunlight, encouraged himself, spotted the enemy, and fell into fear... all of this seemed lengthy but in truth, happened in a flash, yet the attack still arrived with an unavoidably swift speed.

There was no time to react.

The next moment, he heard a squelching sound of metal piercing flesh near his ear, and a warm, wet crimson splash streaked across his green cheek.

The giant crossbow arrow precisely hit the chest of the bat steed, its immense kinetic energy instantly tearing through skin, muscles, organs, and bones, bursting out from the other side, carrying with it a spray of warm blood and shattered tissue, creating a brutal through-and-through.

”Screech—!!!”

The bat steed let out an extremely shrill wail, its wings instantly ceased fluttering.

Its body was yanked backward by the arrow and then began to plummet powerlessly.

Sitting in the saddle, Kaga was dizzy from the tremendous sense of weightlessness and the dizzying spin, relying on the instinct to survive, subconsciously yanked the reins upward at the last moment.

The out-of-control bat struggled to flap its wings amid the agony, ultimately crashing into the mountain woods, spinning like a leaf in the autumn wind.

”Bang!”

The branches along the way snapped crisply, dust billowing.

For a long time, lying on the bat steed, Kaga, with his head bleeding, awakened from the immense dizziness, with blood soaking into his eye sockets from his forehead, making his vision extremely blurred.

The world had turned into a blood-red scene, resembling the appearance of hell.

Just as he propped himself up on his elbows, attempting to sit up from the cold back of the bat steed, a figure abruptly blocked the sunlight before him the next moment.

A black boot stepped on his chest.

”Pfft!”

The goblin spat out a mouthful of blood.

He raised his eyes to look at the owner of the boot and finally, in the sunlight and blurred blood, saw that face clearly.

It was an utterly terrifying face — ugly, spooky, sinister, covered with a layer of scales that made him tremble from the depth of his soul, as if all light was devoured by the person before him.

This was how Kaga saw Gauss, at that moment indistinguishable from a demon or devil.

Kaga’s heart felt as if it was gripped tightly by an icy giant hand, his green face contorting due to asphyxiation and fear.

He had clearly escaped, yet ultimately, as if it was inescapable fate, he ended up being trampled underfoot by him.

”Waaaaugh!”

Kaga flailed his arms in vain, trying to grab onto something.

But Gauss’s speed was faster, his calm and expressionless eyes always watching every move of the struggling goblin under him.

”Crack!”

Both arms snapped like branches under the monstrous force of the stomp.

Next were both legs.

In Kaga’s painful screams, the shiny rapier pierced in, with Gauss giving a slight twist of his wrist, shattering his tongue.

”Uh... cough cough...”

Yet even so, the goblin bat knight still did not die.

The top-tier power and life force of an elite demon were far tougher than imagined.

Gauss’s rapier, [Wind Seeker], lifted his leather armor, then slit open his abdomen, taking out the final alchemical bomb, embedding the fuel and the triggering miniature clay spider into his warm abdomen.

The long needle rapidly sutured the wound in his abdomen under the effect of magic tricks.
