Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 943: Chapter 750: A Day Tour of Hogwarts (Part 2)

Sounds powerful... but the problem is, it doesn’t distinguish friend from foe; after all, this is not a game, it’s actually changing the environment.

When that old professor demonstrated, both he and the rabbit in front of him were covered in a layer of hard white frost.

It wasn’t until a magic text suddenly lit up on his body that the frost melted away.

Kael read about this in a book... carving magic text talismans on oneself was the most popular method in the wizarding world a thousand years ago.

This method can make the charm more powerful and transform oneself into another kind of charm, avoiding being affected by it.

But every book marks the danger of this method.

Because the magic text talisman carved on the body can fade... or should I say ’de-magic’? In short, with such intricate things, even if just one corner was missing, or if you gained a little weight and the symbols stretched, it could change to mean something entirely different.

Whether those magic texts still mean ’protection’ by then is hard to say.

If you’re lucky, it might just be a magic power conflict, and you’ll be laid up for a few months, but if you’re unlucky... it might explode on the spot.

To put it plainly, it’s like dancing on a tightrope.

This is also why magic text magic was quickly replaced by charms. Although they’re somewhat lacking in power, they’re safe enough, and when used well, they might not be inferior to magic text.

Like a movie being rewound, when the Freezing Charm turned into the Ice Creation Spell, everything in the classroom began to rapidly rewind until it looked just like when Kael first entered.

”Tom,” the old professor said in a hoarse voice, ”although the effect of this charm is average, combined with cautionary magic text, it can also play an important role in critical moments.”

”Remember, magic text is always a bit faster than sight, and more importantly, it has no blind spots.” At this point, the old professor slowly raised his head, as if saying this especially for Kael.

...

Each class here is about an hour long.

After finishing one class, Kael immediately went to another classroom.

Whether it’s due to space limitations or just by design, the classrooms here are all together, without need to go up or down stairs, just a few steps out the door, saving a lot of time.

Afterward, Kael attended a Transfiguration class, taught by a witch.

To be honest, Kael thought she wasn’t as good as Professor McGonagall, because her transfiguration techniques were mostly applied to herself, like turning her head into a tiger’s, or changing her arms to a bear’s.

But upon reflection, it seemed that was also popular back then...

What interested Kael the most was actually the Magic Text class.

Unlike the Ancient Runes class he attended, which had only a dozen students per year, Magic Text and Talismans here were required subjects, and everyone had to attend, using the largest classroom available.

All the students sat together, totaling about thirty people...

”When you’re using magic texts, you mustn’t just memorize them by rote. Think carefully about what it means here and why it can’t be replaced by a similar magic text.”

A stern-looking wizard stood at the front, loudly saying, ”When you truly understand the meaning of the person who wrote this magic text formula, you’ll use it effortlessly, without needing to think.”

Mysteriously, Kael kept having a sense of familiarity, but couldn’t quite pinpoint why, so he soon gave up and paid attention to the class with the others.

Until an hour later, when the classroom door suddenly opened.

Having experienced it twice, Kael knew class was over.

As Kael was about to leave and head to the next classroom, everyone suddenly vanished into thin air.

Rowena Ravenclaw walked in from outside.

”How was it?” she asked.

”Very fruitful,” Kael said.

This entirely different teaching system felt very refreshing to him.

”Not bad, it looks like you can keep up,” Rowena Ravenclaw said, ”but today’s classes are over.”

She pointed out the window, and only then did Kael realize that it had somehow gotten dark outside.

”Can I stay a bit longer?” Kael asked, ”Surely the house-elves in the kitchen can send food to the Room of Requirement.”

”No, and it’s not necessary either.”

Rowena Ravenclaw walked out of the classroom.

Kael originally thought she was going to lead him out of the Room of Requirement, but he soon realized she was heading upstairs.

The two of them continued upstairs, brushing past a middle-aged wizard with a stern expression.

Kael had also seen him before, Salazar Slytherin...

A group of students followed behind him, all of them looking down at the books or parchments in their hands, seemingly uninterested in their surroundings?

”They are the purest wizards,” Rowena’s voice came again, ”bearing the mission of their families, always exploring the mysteries of magic.”

”But in my view, they are more like Ravenclaws,” Kael said, ”I mean... Ravenclaw House.”

”Ravenclaw seeks the truth.”

The voice remained calm.

Kael couldn’t quite tell if she meant himself or the academy’s philosophy.

The two of them continued up to the highest tower of the castle, even the staircase height was identical—practically Hogwarts within Hogwarts...

It was the first time Kael realized the Room of Requirement could create such a huge space.

A minute later, Rowena stopped in front of a door.
