Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 941: Chapter 749: Remedial Lesson_3

This seems to be the only explanation for why Rowena Ravenclaw suddenly appeared in the portrait of the castle.

”No, my era ended a thousand years ago, and whatever the castle has become now has nothing to do with me,” Ravenclaw said. ”I am observing you.”

”Observing me?” Kael pointed to himself.

”Yes.” Ravenclaw did not explain further, only saying again, ”You seem a bit confused.”

”A bit, maybe...” Kael said.

Although he thought he was just a bit bored, since Ravenclaw said so, he must be confused.

”It seems you haven’t realized that,” Ravenclaw said softly.

Then, the silver diadem suddenly floated out of the portrait and appeared above Kael’s head in the blink of an eye.

Instinctively, Kael wanted to take it off.

The diadem’s effect was too powerful, the ethereal feeling as if he could control everything was overwhelming.

”It’s okay, relax,” Ravenclaw’s voice came from beside his ear.

Kael realized that nothing about him seemed to have changed; he was still the same as before.

”Sorry,” Kael thought for a moment and asked, ”What did you mean by confusion?”

”In simple terms, your current knowledge system no longer inspires you to explore further.”

”From a student’s perspective alone, you have achieved perfection, even in my time, few could surpass you at your grade level.”

”Tha-thank you,” Kael smacked his lips and said.

This counts as a compliment... it should count as one.

”And I’m glad you’ve restrained your desires.”

”Huh?” Kael was puzzled.

”Because you haven’t become obsessed with more powerful magic.”

Ravenclaw continued, ”I’ve seen many geniuses who often spend their whole lives chasing more dazzling magic and more powerful strengths, gradually drifting away from the original intent of learning magic and becoming servants of power.”

”I suppose you’ve been to the Restricted Area of the library,” she suddenly asked.

Kael nodded, ”Okay, I admit I broke school rules.”

There was no denying it; he not only went there but also copied nearly half of the forbidden books.

”No, that’s not the focus,” Ravenclaw said. ”When Helena talked with me, we talked about you.

”She told me that there was once a boy, who was just like you, smart, talented, surpassing all his peers and even most wizards.

”But the difference between you and him is that he never wandered the castle idly like you.”

A tinge of embarrassment appeared on Kael’s face.

”To solve this laziness of yours, you can choose a place,” Ravenclaw said.

”Choose a place?” Kael instinctively asked, ”For what?”

”Tutoring,” Ravenclaw said. ”Consider it my thanks to you; I’ve been quite happy these days, really happy.”

Ravenclaw’s voice suddenly became much lighter, marking the first time she’d shown any emotional change.

But this lasted only a moment, then vanished, as if she had suddenly slipped into the role of a professor, she said coldly,

”Your foundation is too weak, even inferior to a third-year student. How do you have the nerve to wander the castle?”

”That’s not what you said just now,” Kael muttered to himself, but soon realized something else.

Ravenclaw was going to tutor him?

This surprise was so great that Kael could hardly believe it.

”Are you really going to tutor me?”

”If you are unwilling, I can offer you another form of gratitude,”

”No, no, this is fine,” Kael said repeatedly.

Only a fool would refuse Ravenclaw’s tutoring.

”I know a place, quiet enough and undisturbed.” Kael instinctively thought of the Room of Requirement, it was the most suitable place.

...

At this time, Ron, Harry, and Hermione were just coming out of the library.

Ron, leading the way, turned a corner and saw Kael staring in a daze in front of the portrait.

”Kael, what are you doing here... Oh!”

Before he could finish speaking, he saw Kael suddenly take a step forward and disappear entirely.

Yes, disappeared, without a sound.

”Ron, what are you yelling about!” Harry and Hermione came up from behind.

”Didn’t you see?” Ron waved his hands animatedly, pointing at Violet’s portrait, ”Kael, he was just there!”

”Where?” Hermione looked at the empty corridor ahead. ”You must be seeing things.”

”Absolutely not, he was just here!” Ron insisted, ”It must be Apparition.”

”Impossible,” Hermione stated firmly, ”Apparition is forbidden in the castle, you know that.”

”But I really saw it!” Ron insisted, ”And he had some silver thing on his head, it must be Ravenclaw’s Diadem.”

He then ran to the portrait, ”You saw it too, didn’t you? Someone was just standing here, you must have seen it, right?”

”Hey, I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Violet, disturbed, glanced sideways at Ron with discontent, ”It’s always been just me here.”

”You didn’t see?”

”Why would I lie to you?” Violet said impatiently, ”Leave me in peace, don’t disturb my rest.”

”You heard that?” Hermione walked over, ”Don’t be silly, Apparition is forbidden in the castle, Kael isn’t an exception.”

”Yeah,” Harry agreed, ”you must have been reading too much, it’s messing with your eyes.”

”I say, Hermione, we really don’t need to waste time in the library.”

”No, there’s one place we haven’t checked yet.”

”Where?”

”The Restricted Area!”

”That’s against school rules unless we can get a professor’s signature.”

...

The two walked away further; Ron, still standing in place, was a bit dumbfounded.

He clearly saw Kael just now, why hadn’t the person in the portrait seen him?

Could he really have been seeing things?

Impossible...
