Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 852: Chapter 719: Newt and the Snake Woman’s Curious Affairs (Part 3)

”Oh.” Kael nodded as if he hadn’t seen anything and said, ”Then, professor, take your time thinking, rest assured, Harry is easy to deceive... hmm, easy to talk to.”

Dumbledore’s expression remained unchanged, he just glanced towards the doorway.

”Didn’t you ask before why Professor Snape was upset?” He continued, ”That’s the reason. He believes the Soul Artifact is Tom’s most deeply hidden secret, and everyone who knows about it is in danger. He doesn’t want you to take risks.”

”Who doesn’t want me to take risks? Professor Snape?”

Kael’s expression changed, and he said seriously, ”Professor, I think it’s necessary to conduct a thorough investigation in the school. I suspect some professors are disguised as Death Eaters using Polyjuice Potion. These things can’t be ignored, it’s better to resolve it sooner.”

”Don’t say that.”

Dumbledore chuckled, ”Actually, Professor Snape isn’t as harsh as you think, and...”

He looked at Kael with a teasing tone, ”Sooner or later, you’ll all become family. It’s natural for him to be concerned about you.”

”That’s a matter for the future.” Kael rubbed his forehead, feeling a bit troubled about this.

”So, what’s your decision?”

Dumbledore said, ”Would you like to do me this favor? I must say, obtaining the real memory is very important to us, but if you have concerns... I can understand.”

”Professor, do you think I can simply step away from the Soul Artifact matter?” Kael couldn’t help but say.

He has destroyed many of Voldemort’s Soul Artifacts, does he care about knowing one more piece of information?

Besides, Harry is still the same...

Snape’s worries are entirely unnecessary. Whether or not they know Slughorn’s memory, Voldemort will never let them off.

At this point, an owl suddenly flew in through the window, delivering a letter with its claws to Dumbledore.

Dumbledore glanced at the letter, his expression growing more serious.

”Sorry, Kael, I might have to attend to other matters.” He stood up and then Apparated out of the room.

Fawkes let out a soft chirp and disappeared in a burst of flames as well.

In almost the blink of an eye, Kael was the only one left in the office. He looked around the empty office and at the portraits pretending to sleep again, ready to leave.

After leaving the Headmaster’s Office, Kael was still pondering Dumbledore’s words. But he suddenly realized that Slughorn’s memory doesn’t seem to be of much use.

It’s just a memory concerning the Soul Artifact, but thinking carefully, how many Soul Artifacts does Voldemort have left?

The Diary and Resurrection Stone Ring are already destroyed, and the Diadem, Golden Cup, and Pendant Box he found are all with Nicolas Flamel; by this time, they should be almost resolved.

That’s five Soul Artifacts.

Oh, and there’s that big snake named Nagini.

During the Triwizard Tournament, Kael was transported by the Portkey disguised as a trophy to the mountaintop where Voldemort held the resurrection ceremony, and during Voldemort and Dumbledore’s battle, he took the snake away.

But what surprised Kael was that the snake wasn’t a Soul Artifact... but not an ordinary animal either, she was a Maledictus.

Simply put, she was a Witch turned into a snake.

This situation is somewhat like an Animagus, but different in that Maledictus is permanent, unable to freely switch between animal and Wizard like an Animagus, they can only remain in animal form forever.

Moreover, their consciousness would gradually be erased until they became a true animal.

Newt explained this to him during the holidays.

Additionally, Newt knew the snake and insisted Kael leave Nagini with him.

Kael naturally had no reason to disagree, he’s not Voldemort and doesn’t have the habit of carrying a snake around, even if he did, he had a more suitable Basilisk, so he easily handed Nagini over to Newt.

This is also why Newt never asked for the Wampus Cat back; both parties reached an unspoken understanding.

However, there’s one thing that’s quite perplexing for Kael; Nagini is a female snake, meaning before becoming a Maledictus, she was a Witch.

Newt keeps a ’Snake Woman’ by his side... he still hasn’t decided whether to tell Tina about this.
