Global Game: I Have Portable Store

In a relatively bright room, the window with broken glass was half-open, and opposite Feng Sichen sat a psychologist wearing a white coat, the only psychologist in this settlement.

This role was completely different from that of a psychologist before the apocalypse; it specifically targeted the Extraordinary, and the psychologist themselves was also Extraordinary.

Every psychologist was extremely important to a settlement; they could effectively eliminate factors that cause Extraordinary individuals to lose control, significantly reducing the proportion of uncontrolled Extraordinary individuals, and they could provide early prevention, greatly reducing losses.

”So your cognition is in chaos, and you feel that the things you have experienced conflict on a logical level.”

The psychologist analyzed based on Feng Sichen’s description, noticing the half-open window behind Feng Sichen, wondering if he might jump out if he lost control.

Feng Sichen shook his head and emphasized, ”It’s because everything around me is chaotic in itself, so the information I receive is chaotic no matter what.”

The doctor nodded, sort of acknowledging Feng Sichen’s statement. ”Can you specifically talk about what you actually saw at that time? Maybe I can solve your current problem.”

With a sarcastic smile, Feng Sichen retorted, ”Do you really want to listen?”

”Of course, it helps solve your problem, and it’s my duty,” the doctor said calmly, feeling his consciousness briefly blur. When he looked again, he noticed something wrong: ”What’s this?”

The environment in the room changed slightly, and the sound of the window swinging in the wind appeared behind him.

He and Feng Sichen didn’t know when, but they suddenly switched positions...

Or perhaps he had been sitting here from the very beginning and had never moved...

With a strange smile, Feng Sichen looked at the psychologist and whispered, ”Don’t you feel something’s not quite right? Reality and your memory have created a contrast; this is what you call cognitive dissonance.”

”As expected, you’ve also been contaminated. The pollution started spreading as soon as you began to doubt.”

”!!!”

The psychologist’s eyes widened, showing a look of disbelief, but that feeling mustn’t be wrong: chaos, loss of sense of proportion. ”Why are you trying to harm me?!”

He realized it was Feng Sichen playing tricks.

Feng Sichen chuckled, shaking his head. ”It’s not my fault, it’s you who insisted on treating me. You just wanted to understand what I truly saw. It was your curiosity that harmed you, not me.”

The contaminated population had a common trait: their senses and judgment experienced a certain level of illusions and chaos, making it extremely easy to lose control once an Extraordinary lost self-control, they lost their identity.

But what Feng Sichen didn’t expect was that the psychologist in front of him would be so fragile, with visible black cracks appearing on his face, like cracks on ceramic.

Who would have thought that a psychologist’s mind would be so fragile, immediately entering an uncontrolled state just with mild contamination?

”Hey, wake up, you’re a psychologist.”

Feng Sichen shouted, struggling constantly. He was fixed to the chair, finding it hard to break free with brute force, only able to watch as the psychologist in a white coat went progressively mad and approached him.

At this moment, he finally understood what it meant to reap what you sow, thinking if he had known it would turn out this way, he would have restrained himself.

The people outside rushed in after noticing the situation inside, but they were a step too late. Feng Sichen had already been grabbed by a thick hand that crushed his skull, his blood splattering the wall in an arc.

”What the hell is going on here?!”

The guards who burst in couldn’t help but curse when they saw the scene inside the room. They were standing outside to prevent Feng Sichen from losing control, only to find that Feng Sichen didn’t lose control, but the psychologist treating him did.

This was too unscientific!

Since the situation was completely different from what they expected, they didn’t shoot the psychologist; instead, they let him jump out of the window.

”Hurry up and chase! His contamination level has far exceeded mine. If we don’t deal with it, a large number of people will be contaminated.”

Feng Sichen shouted, unable to help himself when he saw the guards still dazed.

”Aren’t you...?”

”I’m not dead, stop overthinking.”

Feng Sichen maintained his position locked in the chair, remaining still from start to finish, saying only a few words.

”When exactly?”

He couldn’t figure out when exactly the guards were contaminated; was it after the doctor lost control?

...or had they been contaminated beforehand.

”What exactly is that terrifying thing?” Images of that zombie floated through his mind, causing him to break out into a cold sweat.

There were still quite a number of Extraordinary individuals in the settlement, and soon the uncontrollable doctor was shot and killed, with his body mostly destroyed, rendered unrecognizable, twisted into a monster.

But the problem remained unsolved, as many people exhibited symptoms of cognitive dissonance, consistently making incorrect judgments. Not long after the Monster Doctor was killed, a guard wearing a white hat suddenly lost control and attacked surrounding companions.

This type of transmissible, infectious pollution was unprecedented, leading to this disaster-level event under circumstances of total unpreparedness.

Fortunately, this type of contamination wasn’t inherently fatal, as long as individuals didn’t lose control. At most, they would just carry a cognitive dissonance debuff.

The settlement promptly listed Su Changxing as the highest threat in the area and prohibited most from entering or leaving the settlement. They needed to maintain this status and hold on until the Order Team appeared.

At this moment.

Su Changxing was leisurely wandering down the street with the Big Horn, merely puzzled at the absence of touch from any Extraordinary, though he occasionally spotted some ordinary people emerging.

”Are you saying that guy is also near the previous area?”

Listening to the Big Horn’s account, Su Changxing suddenly thought that slowly hunting the Extraordinary Zombie might be a good choice. Who knows what the situation was like now in that place; he might encounter a powerful Extraordinary or an exceptional Extraordinary Creature.

Suddenly stopping.

Su Changxing looked up at the surrounding buildings, sensing that someone was watching him, like discovering him but daring not show their face.

It was probably a human, a timid human.

Then he noticed a conspicuously placed spike trap on the road ahead, utterly unhidden.

”Only a fool would step on that.”

Su Changxing felt such a trap was insulting to intelligence, not just for him...

Shush~

With a snap, the Big Horn stepped directly on the trap trigger, and his body was pierced by a gigantic wooden spike.
