Global Game: I Have Portable Store

They retraced their steps, only a little over thirty people, not even half of what they had when they arrived.

But this was already the best outcome they had envisioned; at least they accomplished their goal and some lived to return.

Away from the church, the surroundings grew quiet, and there seemed to be no pursuers.

Yet before they had run far, they heard another wolf howl.

”Another werewolf!” Angisun said with a frown, ”That werewolf is running in our direction. Does it know where we are because of the scent?”

This is strange.

They had passed by two werewolves earlier without being discovered, but now it seemed like these werewolves had locked onto them, rushing in one after the other.

Adis pondered for a moment and said, ”Perhaps someone is controlling them from behind, directing their actions, otherwise these frenzied werewolves wouldn’t only target us.”

”I think the person behind it might be Valian.”

Angisun widened his eyes in confusion, ”Didn’t you say you killed him earlier?”

Adis shook his head and recounted, ”Actually, I’m not too sure. I shot him in the head with a firearm, but he turned into a swarm of rats.”

”He might not be human, he might be some kind of creature, like a werewolf,” Angisun analyzed.

Adis nodded, ”That’s possible... Let’s solve this werewolf first, just as before. If we don’t take it down, I’m afraid we won’t be able to escape today.”

The werewolf runs too fast; if it truly chases them, not one person can escape, so they have to kill it to survive.

With previous experience, they first positioned themselves, waiting for the werewolf to charge at them.

Three people were knocked over by the werewolf, and Adis immediately lunged, slashing the werewolf’s back, but was knocked aside, feeling the immense impact, he couldn’t help coughing twice, his mouth filled with blood.

This werewolf was even more ferocious and stronger; just looking at it, one could feel the violent aura.

Although they still had over 30 people, everyone was already exhausted.

In the dim alley, one by one, they fell under the werewolf’s claws.

”Angisun, shoot its eyes, quick!” Adis shouted as he hugged the werewolf from behind, restraining its movements.

The eyes are the most vulnerable spot on the werewolf’s body, also their breakthrough point.

Angisun immediately fired, but the werewolf dodged by tilting its head, the bullet hit its forehead, ricocheting away.

The werewolf broke free of Adis’s hold, turned around, and bit into his arm, with a crisp sound of breaking bones, Adis’s left hand was completely severed, accompanied by screams.

Adis looked into the close, violently red eyes, his whole being seemed to tremble.

At the mental breaking point, he pulled out the short knife from his waist, reversed it and stabbed into the werewolf’s eye.

His right hand turned into a shadow-like state, this blow pierced through the werewolf’s skull, smashing its brain completely.

Immediately, the werewolf slammed him heavily to the ground, causing cracks to appear on the already uneven surface.

However, after that strike, the werewolf quickly approached death, rolling to the side, becoming weak, dark red blood gushed from its eye sockets.

”Are you alright!” Angisun ran over to check Adis’s condition.

At this moment, only a few were standing, amidst the narrow alley, more than ten to twenty corpses lay.

If not for Adis’s desperate effort at the end, they might have all died and still wouldn’t have been this werewolf’s match.

”It’s nothing too serious, let’s go, we must leave quickly.” Adis got up with Angisun’s support, looking like aside from a severed hand, there really wasn’t anything too serious.

They had to leave here quickly, if anyone else came, they would definitely not make it out.

Just upon exiting the alley, they heard the dying cries of rats from behind, coming from all directions.

Adis realized and shouted, ”Run!”

Just as he was about to look back, he felt a chilling pain in his chest, looked down, and saw a blade piercing through his body.

”You came to make trouble at my Black Rope Sect and still want to run?” Valian’s voice came from behind, he grabbed Adis’s shoulder with one hand, and pierced through his back with a short sword.

Valian indeed wasn’t dead, alive and well.

A large group of white rats followed, visibly spreading throughout the alley.

Angisun stopped, fired a shot at Valian, but the bullet missed, hitting the nearby wall, leaving a bullet hole.

He himself was stunned, not expecting to miss at such close range.

”Run, don’t worry about me.”

Then, he heard Adis shouting.

Angisun glanced at Adis, turned and ran, knowing that in such a situation it’s better if one can escape, otherwise they’d all die here.

”None of you will escape, all will die here!” Valian said indifferently, his eyes flashing with unchecked rage, ”I didn’t expect you lowlifes would dare attempt to assassinate me, forgetting your place.”

A large group of white rats bypassed them and chased forward.

”So what!”

Adis roared, turning his head, revealing two slender fangs like a beast, his eyes were also dark.

Ignoring the short sword in his chest, he rolled over and lunged, grasping Valian’s shoulder with claw-like nails, biting into his neck.

Instantly, Adis seemed to be imbued with some sort of divine power, his body renewed and suddenly more powerful, breaking free immediately.

Even Valian didn’t react before he was knocked to the ground, with a look of terror on his face: ”Demon, you’re a demon!”

He felt the strength in his body fading at a bizarre speed along with the flow of blood.

”Valian, your death is fated!”

With his mouth full of blood, Adis showed a pleased expression, his right hand dug out Valian’s heart from the chest, then put it in his mouth and chewed.

The taste of blood was indescribably marvelous, the bearer of power, the source of the soul.

The rats swarming towards him exploded one by one, turning into blood, merging into a river.
