Global Game: I Have Portable Store

With the deaths of the two Guard captains, the war gradually began to settle.

”These people are quite stubborn; none of them surrendered and caused us no small trouble.” Zhang Zifu reported the situation to Jin, then added:

”We just discovered the entrance to the underground. However, it’s completely sealed by the ruins, and clearing it will take some time.”

”I suspect those councillors are probably trying to escape from this place. If we search around the city’s perimeter now, we might just bump into them.”

For this situation, he had considered it beforehand. Intending to kill the councillors of the National Council was surely not going to be simple, especially since they didn’t have a complete plan and recklessly assaulted them. Yet, as of now, it seems this reckless plan is working well.”

No wonder she’s the Nun!

He couldn’t help but admire internally, marveling at the Nun’s cleverness and control over the situation.

In these aspects, he was completely unmatched, even if he always considered himself very smart.

Jin pretended to nod, indicating she understood, then asked, ”Can’t it be blown open? Or use some other measures.”

Zhang Zifu shook his head, saying, ”Probably not. If violence is used to pry it open, it would lead to further damage to the passage, which would cause it to collapse.”

Jin calmly nodded: ”Then you clear it and check the situation below. If those three councillors are still down there, take them out; if not, you can retreat.”

”I have other matters to attend to, so I’m leaving this to you.”

She couldn’t help but yawn.

Zhang Zifu placed his left hand over his chest, solemnly stated: ”No problem, I won’t disappoint you, leave it to me!”

Seeing the Nun trusting him so much, he was exceedingly excited, but couldn’t help feeling something was off. The Nun’s physique seemed different from before, but couldn’t be seen clearly due to the hood’s cover.

Just as Jin was preparing to leave, a young woman in a black combat suit, with long golden hair, hurried over, looking rushed as she approached Jin, bowed her head, and said:

”Nun, I’m the second Executor, Amy. I would like to ask if there are any instructions? Or what should we do next?”

From her appearance, she looked like a naive and inexperienced girl, one wouldn’t think she was the Executor of Chenxi.

The Executor is already part of Chenxi’s upper echelon, possessing significant power and able to decide some affairs within Chenxi to a considerable extent.

Especially within the team with Jin, since Shen Xuan is often absent, could be considered a hands-off manager, so the Executer holds even more power, almost entirely managing the whole team.

Zhang Zifu is the first Executor, she is the second Executor, and there are two other Executors not present.

”You don’t need to introduce yourself, I know who you are. Haven’t we met last time?”

Jin said calmly, with red eyes appearing profound, her invisible aura enough to bring great pressure to anyone.

Amy smiled awkwardly and then said, ”It’s been a long time since we’ve met. I was afraid the Nun might forget me.”

”Then are there any instructions? I will surely do my best to complete them for you.”

Jin said bluntly: ”There’s nothing you need to do, just take care of yourselves and don’t die.”

Their sudden action of taking down the Celestial Guard Tower of the National Council would certainly make them a target for everyone, and at this moment, the war upfront is still ongoing. It’s possible that the alliance between Chenxi and the National Council may also break apart because of this.

Amy hearing this, could only nod and say: ”Okay.”

With her head low, her expression was constantly changing, biting her tooth, seemed somewhat unwilling.

After several hours of clearing, they finally cleaned out the passage from the ruins.

”Cleared out, let’s go down and check, be careful, there might still be people down there.” Zhang Zifu, holding a large-caliber iron pipe shooter, stood at the entrance of the passage and said to Amy.

Amy nodded and said: ”Alright, be careful, the Nun is not here, if something happens, we may not be able to resolve it.”

Their group of over forty members moved along the passage downwards; the narrow air was filled with the scent of blood.

”Many people died, did they have an internal struggle?” Zhang Zifu couldn’t help but frown, puzzled, they hadn’t come here, yet these people were dead: ”No wonder I felt the Guard at the Celestial Guard Tower were weaker than expected, turns out a significant portion was lost here.”

Seeing the corpses in the corridor, Amy also widened her eyes and froze, showing an expression of disbelief: ”All... all dead?”

”If they’re all dead, doesn’t it mean the councillors of the National Council are also dead.”

Zhang Zifu found it interesting, showed a smile, nodded, and said: ”There’s that possibility, but I’m more curious about who did it.”

Amy’s mind flashed, suddenly thought of a possibility, and said: ”Do you think it could be the Nun already came down?”

Zhang Zifu stopped in his tracks, turned to look at her, thought for a moment, and said, ”Since the Nun didn’t say so, then it isn’t.”

”However, if the senator really died here, even if we didn’t kill them, it will still be blamed on us.”

Although their goal was to kill the National Council’s senator, it couldn’t be done by someone else and then pinned on them.

They refuse to take the blame; if they did it, they did, if not, then not.

The dead bodies here, along with their bones and clothes, all appear to be in a semi-melted Status, making it impossible to discern how they died or what they looked like before death.

In some places, the corpses had merged together, showing a twisted form.

In such an environment, the atmosphere felt cold and eerie, and Zhang Zifu couldn’t help but grip the shotgun in his hand tightly.

This world has long become twisted after the apocalypse; encountering anything is possible, be it monsters or Ghost Souls.

There are often settlements discovered to be suddenly out of contact, and upon investigation, there are no survivors inside.

There were no survivors here, just semi-melted corpses, and the whispered conversations they heard along the way.

”It looks like this area was all laboratories, but the data within has been destroyed or transferred, and nothing particularly valuable was found,” one team member reported.

The Celestial Guard Tower itself is a large laboratory, undertaking research on various Mysterious Items, hoping to stably produce specified Mysterious Items.

However, trying to research such things in a short period is destined to be futile, as their Extraordinary System is incomplete and lacks fundamental theoretical support, let alone researching these undefined Mysterious Items.

Amy nodded and smiled, ”Have someone bring all the valuable items back, and hand them over to the research institute later.”

Chenxi is naturally doing similar work, and it’s like a long race track: whoever reaches the end first is the winner.

After searching several rooms, they finally found something unusual in the seventh room on the ground floor.

Compared to the other rooms, this room was even more closed off, and the space wasn’t large, just a long table with an unlit, unfinished cigar on top.

Hanging from the ceiling were three round objects.

”What is this!”

Amy showed a surprised expression, clearly recognizing the faces, those were the heads of three senators.

Their heads were cut off and hung from the ceiling, blood constantly dripping onto the floor due to gravity.

”All three senators died here, and their heads were cut off and hung; it seems the murderer wants us to know the senators are dead.”

”Not sure if it’s to demonstrate to us or to the National Council.”

Zhang Zifu showed a serious expression and immediately took out his phone to report the Situation to Jin. They originally thought these three senators might have escaped, but unexpectedly, they were here.

Amy was also utterly confused, ”So aside from us, who else would want to kill the National Council’s senators, could it be the people of 17?”

Zhang Zifu shook his head, analyzing, ”It doesn’t seem like it; this clearly looks like something done by insiders within the National Council. After killing them, they left through a planned route. As a newly emerged force, 17 shouldn’t have such influence.”

Amy suddenly realized, ”In that case, it must be other senators doing this; the person’s conflict must be deeply rooted in grievances with these three.”

Saying this, both fell into a brief silence, exchanging a knowing glance.

They previously didn’t understand why the Nun suddenly attacked the Celestial Guard Tower; now there’s some clue, but they can’t say it out loud.

Previously, there were rumors within Chenxi that the Nun was somehow linked with the Shen Family. The Shen Family is also one of the Eight Great Clans, rumored to have been part of the Imperial Family. The dynasty fell, yet they remained, with considerable interests.

If the Shen Family was plotting behind this, then it would all seem logical; the two sides could collaborate internally and externally to take down the Celestial Guard Tower, eliminate the three senators, and pin this on Chenxi.

Zhang Zifu looked around at the people, then said seriously, ”Today’s incident, none of you are to speak of it, regardless of what you saw... Or else don’t blame me for being harsh, you know the consequences!”

Zhang Zifu was a cautious person, realizing the seriousness of today’s incident. If not handled properly, it could lead to big problems.

Amy seemed somewhat distracted.

”What’s wrong with you?” Zhang Zifu looked at her and frowned.

Amy snapped back, wearing a shy smile, ”I was just too surprised.”

Zhang Zifu nodded, pointing at the bodies on the ground and said, ”Clean all these things up, we’re preparing to evacuate. It seems the personnel from the National Council nearby are about to come over.”
