”You all have to die; none of you can escape.”

Adis swung the longsword in his hand towards Wims.

The chattering sound filled the ears, drowning out other noises, and causing extreme irritation.

A number of rats leapt onto the two of them, tearing open wounds and stimulating the nerves with pain.

Wims’ eyes turned pitch black. Even though he had lost a leg, his combat power was exceptionally strong, wielding a cane that clashed with the longsword.

His power was greater than Adis’, but his speed was not as fast, so when they fought, they were evenly matched in a short time.

Realizing he couldn’t escape, Wims displayed a crazy expression and shouted, ”Madman, let’s die here together then!”

Adis said disdainfully, ”Who would die here with you? You’re not qualified.”

After saying that, he crashed into the nearby wall, and the moment his body touched it, he became ethereal and passed through effortlessly.

Wims stood dumbfounded on the spot, only then remembering that the other had entered silently earlier, surely with some special method.

This kind of ability could probably be called magic, transcending reality, breaking free from the world’s constraints.

Adis reached a dark passage, shook off the rats still clinging to him, and limped away, behind him was Wims’ screams, being gnawed by countless rats, a pain comparable to the most cruel punishment.

Following the dark passage to its end, he fumbled for a bit before finding the mechanism, opened the hidden door on the wall, and emerged in a secluded corner of the church.

The sounds of slaughter transmitted from outside, the church a chaotic mess, as Angisun and others had already led people in for the kill.

Adis, just stepping out, saw a fleeing believer running toward him with a terrified look. ”Don’t kill me!”

Before the words were finished.

His hand rose and fell, resolving the situation, the corpse crashing to the floor, blood splattering, with a rat crawling over it.

The situation had developed to such an extent that it left him puzzled.

He didn’t know if their actions were successful or a failure.

They seemed successful, but he wasn’t sure if Valian was dead; saying they failed, they did take down the Black Rope Sect’s church and even killed most of the elders.

”Retreat, retreat! We’ve succeeded, Valian is dead!”

Adis shouted loudly as he walked into the main hall, coincidentally witnessing Sherlock raising a huge axe to strike a divine statue.

”No!”

He suddenly had a bad feeling; destroying the statue of a truly existent Divine Spirit, who knew what could happen.

A familiar and piercing sound came, a large number of white-eyed, blood-red rats emerged from the statue, pouncing on Sherlock.

Sherlock was thus submerged by the swarms of rats, swinging his big axe, but to no avail, quickly falling silent.

Both the believers of the Black Rope Sect and the All Beings Sect were within the attack range of those rats.

The piercing sound made everyone’s heads buzz.

Angisun was the fastest to react, tossing a silver-white hand grenade into the swarms of rats, blowing up and killing more than half of them.

However.

The rats continued increasing visibly; it was unknown where they were emerging from.

Another explosion ensued.

Flames once again engulfed the swarms of rats.

This time it was a hand grenade thrown by Adis.

”Retreat, retreat! We’re leaving here!” Adis shouted again, leading the way out.

Their objective was probably accomplished.

This place was too eerie, they couldn’t stay; staying any longer, they would all die here, gnawed to death by those rats.

While the number of rats wasn’t large yet, they retreated from the church. At this point, there weren’t many Black God Cult believers left in the church; either they were dead or they had fled.

Just after running out of the church, they heard the sound of a wolf’s howl coming from the street not far away.

”It’s a werewolf! Let’s fight!” Angisun shouted, a fierce expression on his face.

He hadn’t expected to survive this to begin with, so he wasn’t afraid of the monster.

A bullet was fired, hitting the werewolf charging at them, and bursting into sprays of blood.

The werewolf barreled into the crowd, clashing against them in combat.

They had no hand grenades left; killing this werewolf wouldn’t be easy, they needed to target its weak spots, such as the eyes and mouth.

Adis realized this werewolf was larger than the one from the daytime, with speed and power that surpassed it, showing a significant increase in combat strength.

He tried to sneak around behind, aiming for the werewolf’s neck like in the daytime, but the werewolf reacted, turning around and using its claws to block the longsword in Adis’ hand, a mocking expression on its face:

”You who defile the Divine Spirit shall die!”

This one could speak, indicating it had intelligence no less than humans.

Adis was astonished, retreating hurriedly, feeling his hands going numb. In terms of strength, he was no match for the werewolf, having only some advantage in speed.

The werewolf continued to pounce at him; he narrowly dodged to the side, smelling the stench on the werewolf’s body, and feeling the astounding heat, as if it were a furnace constantly burning.

They were probably all death warriors, instead of retreating in the face of such a fierce monster, they all surrounded and attacked.

The werewolf’s skin was too thick, making it difficult to inflict fatal injury; instead, seven or eight of them were killed by the werewolf.

Finally, with the sound of a gunshot, the werewolf’s left eye exploded into blood.

Angisun had unexpectedly shot the werewolf in the eye, such marksmanship could only be described as divine.

Taking advantage of the werewolf’s limited vision, Adis charged up, piercing the werewolf’s neck with his sword, running it through along the previous wound.

The werewolf was pushed to the ground by a crowd, struggling continuously, growing weaker with the loss of blood, its strength diminishing, eventually transforming back into human form.

They had killed the werewolf, but the cost was not small. Looking back at the church, it was like a scene from Hell, the floor covered with rats, no living person, corpses being devoured.

The rats ate the flesh and innards, leaving only bones and some meat membranes.

”Let’s go, leave this place!” Adis said in a hoarse voice, continually coughing, spitting out fresh blood.

During the battle with the werewolf, he was seriously injured, with multiple scratch marks on his surface, though none were fatal. What was deadly was the severe internal damage from the werewolf’s enormous strength, likely internal bleeding.

”Are you okay?” Angisun noticed Adis’ off status.

Adis shook his head, leading the retreat: ”I’m fine, won’t die.”

With the Divine Position bestowed upon him, his body was much stronger than ordinary people, so such injuries were not enough to be fatal, and he could even continue to move.
