Global Game: I Have Portable Store

Watching Adis easily decapitate the guard, the other guards on the steps revealed panic in their eyes.

The hand grenade just now affected both sides, and clearly this grenade was the latest model, extremely rare. They only had this one.

”They only have one grenade; let’s rush out, rush out!” Angisun shouted again, quite a few of the prisoners belonged to their commerce association, which gave him significant authority even in this dungeon.

The prisoners gathered together once more, rushing along the stairs to get out, completely losing their minds, including Adis.

As they ran outside, Adis felt the people around him falling one by one.

Finally.

They burst out onto the surface; it was still night outside, the sky faintly glowing, and lights could be seen by the roadside not far away.

At this moment, such a scene was extremely beautiful, enough to make these long-detained prisoners feel refreshed.

This seemed to be a warehouse in the suburbs.

Adis was covered in blood, with a guard’s corpse at his feet.

These guards showed terrifying willpower, fighting to the death, refusing to retreat, even when vastly outnumbered.

After killing the last guard, they finally managed to escape the dungeon, though only ten or twenty prisoners got out, the rest died below.

This was a brutal escape.

Adis felt his whole body numb, knowing he might collapse anytime if he relaxed.

Angisun looked left and noticed flickers of light moving toward them in the darkness, reacting quickly:

”This way, someone’s coming.”

He led the charge out of the warehouse without stopping, others followed, then they heard shouting and gunfire behind them.

The gunfire was intense, indicating numerous attackers.

”We need to go to the All Beings Sect; only there can we survive. They should have the strength to resist the Black Rope Sect. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be so cautious in their dealings.” Adis shouted at Angisun, knowing this was their only option, or even if they escaped the dungeon, they couldn’t escape the city.

The Black Rope Sect dominates here, connected with the city government and the great nobility.

Angisun nodded immediately, saying: ”Where are they? Lead the way; we’ll go.”

Adis looked around, roughly determining their location, then said: ”Over by 13th Street, it’s very close.”

They ran forward along the street, chased by a group of Black God Cult believers wielding firearms, continuously firing.

Luckily, the firearms had limited range, and accuracy was poor from a distance, making it hard to hit anyone.

The commotion drew the attention of people on the street, and a patrolling city guard team came over, but seeing it was Black Rope Sect, they quietly left, pretending not to see.

Shooting randomly on the streets was a severe crime, but the Black Rope Sect evidently didn’t fall under this restriction.

Prisoners continued to collapse from exhaustion or were hit by stray bullets.

Adis felt a sharp pain in his back; he was shot, yet he dared not slow his pace.

Stopping meant death!

The pursuers got closer, bullets whizzing over their heads.

Adis’s body began to sway, his speed slowing, Angisun glanced at him, then grabbed his arm, dragging him along.

”Someone’s coming! They must be from the All Beings Sect!”

Angisun saw a group of people in white church robes approaching, his face filled with excitement.

Leading them was Nobu.

He heard gunfire here and brought people to investigate, extremely vigilant, as this was Black Rope Sect territory, where any mistake could mean an attack.

Who knows what the other side might do.

In the backdrop of the pandemic, the Empire’s order was shattered, anything was possible from Black Rope Sect.

Chaos breeds darkness.

From afar, Nobu saw a group of blood-covered people running down the street, noting the white church robes on Adis—robes belonging to their All Beings Sect.

Then.

He recognized Adis as the one who became a full member of the church that day; not many achieved this, making Adis memorable, plus his distinctive anxious, timid demeanor.

But such a person became a formal believer. Whether a person can become a formal believer is not something they can control; it is decided by the Lord.

If a person enters the All Beings Sect and becomes a formal believer immediately, it means he is very promising, at least within the All Beings Sect.

Seeing the Black Rope Sect believers chasing from behind, Nobu understood what had happened and waved his hand, saying:

”Don’t let those from the Black Rope Sect come over.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the surrounding believers drew their firearms from their waists and shot at the approaching Black God Cult members. Compared to the opponent’s firearms, theirs came from Maelon, the technological heart of the Empire, with more powerful firepower and longer range.

From a distance, the Black God Cult members were driven to flee in confusion by incoming bullets, and quickly retreated.

Firstly, they didn’t expect the All Beings Sect people to intercept them here, and secondly, the opponent’s firearm range was too far, making such combat disadvantageous for them. Moreover, without the order of the Archbishop, if they really started fighting, they would be held responsible.

”They ran really fast.” Nobu noted how easily the Black Rope Sect retreated, which was unexpected.

Adis lay on the ground, gasping for air heavily, exhausted to the limit. Even without Nobu and the others, he couldn’t run anymore.

Nobu glanced at them without asking much and said, ”Take them over for treatment first, their injuries are quite severe.”

In the church, Adis had his wounds treated, bandaged, and changed into a new clerical robe.

Nobu then came over again and asked him:

”Were you captured by the Black Rope Sect?”

Adis nodded, looking a bit numb, and said, ”Yes, they captured me to ask about the All Beings Sect, then they locked me in the dungeon.”

”But I didn’t say anything, and what I did say was all made up.”

Nobu observed him with a smile, holding a bronze smoking pipe in his left hand and shook his head, saying:

”That’s not important. After all, you don’t really know anything. What I’m curious about is how you all escaped.”

Adis was silent for a moment before saying, ”I gained power from my Lord. Using that power, we escaped the dungeon.”

Upon hearing this, Nobu couldn’t help but frown. After Su Changxing left, no one had obtained a divine position, so Adis’s situation was something he was witnessing for the first time:

”I see, you all should stay in the church for now. I will handle the Black Rope Sect matters.”

Adis thought for a moment and then said, ”People were imprisoned in the dungeon because they resisted the Black Rope Sect. Among them was someone named Angisun, the former president of the Antu Commerce Association, who originally had great prestige in Du Lan but went missing later.”

Nobu nodded to indicate that he understood his point: ”I will talk to him later. If you need anything, just say it, and the Church will meet your needs.”

Adis was quite special, someone who obtained a divine position, but it was unclear why Adis could achieve this, as he didn’t seem particularly remarkable.

This was hard to understand, but he must handle it cautiously.

Also, today’s events probably have worsened their relations with the Black Rope Sect, making the situation tense.

Early the next day, more people arrived in front of the church, crowding the street. The entire city knew that the All Beings Sect had the ability to cure the plague.

This was exciting news, and everyone scrambled to join the All Beings Sect, even some nobles.

Several small noble families in the city came due to its reputation, but Nobu treated them no differently, treating everyone equally and making them queue.

However, these nobles always had their ways to cut to the front and be the first to enter.

People with privileges always have privileges. Even if the All Beings Sect didn’t grant privileges, they were still seen as privileged.

Because that’s how the Empire is.

As for last night’s events, it was as if nothing happened. Nobu didn’t go seeking accountability, and the Black Rope Sect didn’t come causing trouble.

Day and night have different faces. Both parties would not break certain obvious rules unless absolutely necessary.

This was a situation Nobu was happy to see. As long as they could delay long enough, the All Beings Sect would certainly establish itself in Du Lan, gradually eroding the Black Rope Sect, until the other side would crumble without attack.

But things obviously wouldn’t go smoothly, and not even until noon, the people on the street suddenly diminished.

”They blocked off the street here. It’s really domineering, it seems they’ve panicked, resorting to such lowly methods,” Yifa said with a laugh, completely looking down on the Black Rope Sect members.

Nobu nodded: ”It’s surprising they can hold back, which means they have significant concerns. But these lowly methods do work; people in this city are afraid of them... That’s the faith of the Black Rope Sect.”

Faith can be different; fear and dread can also breed faith, and intense emotional shifts may give birth to faith.

Because of the diverse Divine Spirit serving, each Church’s style of action varies greatly.

This situation didn’t last long before a large, black-lacquered carriage crept slowly down the street, bypassing the Black Rope Sect blockade.

A carriage like this is generally reserved for the Great Nobility.
