Global Game: I Have Portable Store

Chapter 511: Chapter 95: Pork Delivery

”May I ask what you’re doing sitting here alone? Is there a problem?”

A player saw Su Changxing sitting alone on a bench by the roadside and asked.

This is the usual method of triggering missions. Facing these NPCs, one must always be polite and courteous, otherwise it might end badly.

Because these NPCs can also be deceiving. When the game first launched, many players got badly tricked, and some even ended up in jail because of it.

Of course, most NPCs from the Order faction remain quite friendly, as long as you don’t offend them.

Klein should belong to the chaotic NPCs of the Order faction.

”What is it?”

Su Changxing raised an eyebrow, contemplating how to eliminate these players, never expecting a player to approach him actively.

The discount store popped up relevant information.

[Connecting, opening the mission publishing system]

[You can actively issue missions to this player]

[Being a beginner NPC, you can issue the lowest-level missions, but can add rewards to increase the mission level]

Being able to issue missions was unexpected for Su Changxing.

In a game world, it seems normal for NPCs to issue missions to players, but Su Changxing can actively issue missions through the discount store.

Other NPCs seem to only issue passively, having to align with their original intent.

Su Changxing looked at the player wearing a red plume hat and said thoughtfully:

”My farm needs a batch of pork delivered, but we’re short on hands now. Can you help with the delivery?”

”Delivery of pork?”

The player wearing the red plume hat was momentarily stunned, thinking this was typical in those disadvantageous online games. It was the first time he encountered it in this game, and he actually felt a bit intrigued.

Unless holding special status, such tasks usually don’t fall to the players. These NPCs have their own lives, orderly and well-organized.

[Issue mission ’Pork Delivery’ to player ’Bai Qianyu’?]

[Currently low-level, white mission. Adjust mission rewards?]

Su Changxing discovered Points can be used as rewards, though they have a cap, up to an additional 1000 Points as a reward, upgrading the mission from low-level white to low-level green.

Hmm, he could also throw in a Mysterious Item... he included a Mysterious Item that wasn’t very useful as a reward for the mission.

[Self-heating Syrup (Dingguan, Upper Rank): Mix with hot water to drink the syrup, rapidly restores a large amount of Qi and blood in a short time.]

Qi and blood do not equate to Life Force, but having robust Qi and blood can speed up the recovery of injuries.

”This kind of mission probably doesn’t have any reward, right.” Player Bai Qianyu muttered quietly, checking the mission, he was stunned.

This pork delivery mission was unexpectedly low-level purple.

White, green, yellow, blue, purple, gold, red.

These are the 7 qualities of missions, the higher the mission quality, the richer the rewards.

Purple missions are usually highly difficult, often posing life-threatening risks.

This mission is dangerous?

Bai Qianyu’s expression changed, looking at Su Changxing cautiously and asked, ”What exactly do I need to do?”

Su Changxing smiled kindly and said:

”It’s simple, before dawn send the already slaughtered pork from the farm to Bailan Restaurant on Street 32 in the main city.”

This indeed sounded like a very simple task.

However, Bai Qianyu remained suspicious, feeling it’s not that simple, the purple mission was proof, but he took it anyway due to the generous rewards.

”Alright, I’ll definitely help with this.” He said earnestly, with a face full of commitment.

Su Changxing nodded satisfactorily, handing him a slip from his pocket, and said: ”Go ahead, the mission rewards will be given later.”

What if the rewards are not given... Su Changxing watched Bai Qianyu hurriedly leave, contemplating whether to kill him when he completes the mission.

Hmm, it would be a two-birds-with-one-stone solution.

He set the condition that if a player dies during the mission period, the mission will fail.

If the mission fails, he won’t need to issue the reward.

It’s unethical, and it’s illegal. Killing a player in this world is also illegal, equivalent to murder.

Of course, these mission rewards are inconsequential to him; he still has millions of Points after purchasing Pocket Galaxy, with hundreds of Mysterious Items.

This is the result of a recent, frequent clearing of monsters.

”Huh? Why has the difficulty changed? It’s strange.”

Bai Qianyu suddenly stopped, noticing the mission had changed, from low-level to mid-level, meaning the difficulty had suddenly increased.

”How could this happen? It’s the first time encountering a mission with variable difficulty.”

He was somewhat bewildered, not understanding what happened, thinking he might have triggered some hidden mission, feeling a bit excited.

Hidden missions typically have especially generous rewards.

After Bai Qianyu left, Su Changxing also left the bench, wearing a mask, heading towards the town gate.

He doesn’t plan to kill in the small town, as this would likely expose him, and besides, there are quite a few Extraordinary individuals in the town, along with many players, making it easy to be besieged.

······

In the deep night with the bright moon high in the sky, the entire sky felt exceptionally tranquil. Su Changxing felt it’s been a while since he saw such a scene.

He journeyed to a place five li outside the town, intending to ambush, ready to eliminate whoever came along.

Soon, he saw two police officers in dark uniforms escorting a prisoner on the road towards the town.

”This payoff is quite something. Once we return to the main city, the mission is completed... This time’s experience points are enough to raise me one Level.”

The player walking ahead, holding a rope tethered to the prisoner, said contentedly.

This mission was rather easy; they barely exerted much effort capturing this prisoner, luck was favorable.

The prisoner is a youth with brown hair and blue eyes, hands bound and wearing a chain around his neck, trailing behind while shouting:

”You’ve got the wrong person, I’m not the criminal. Once we reach the main city, I’m going to sue you!”

The other player holding a firearm retorted:

”If not you, then who? Me? Could you stop talking, it’s been endless all the way... Or hand over the stolen goods, and we’ll let you go.”

”How many times do I have to say it, I didn’t steal anything, I was just passing by and got caught by you. You’ve definitely got the wrong person, I assure you.”

Of course, these two players wouldn’t believe him, they have mission prompts. Once the mission reaches the next phase, they can directly determine if they’ve caught the right person.

This is the convenience players enjoy, whereas NPCs would find it much more challenging to capture someone, especially in such an information-restricted era with Extraordinary Power.

The player walking in front intended to say something but suddenly froze, with a fist-sized hole appearing in his head.

Then came the sound of two gunshots.

Both players promptly collapsed to the ground, dead.

The brown-haired, blue-eyed youth was shocked, freezing in place, fearing that person might shoot him, especially since the gunshots sounded strange, never heard before.

Could it be a new firearm developed by the Science Institute?

Su Changxing walked over, gathering the items off the bodies along the way, and asked: ”Why were you captured?”

Players don’t drop all items upon death, but there’s a chance of dropping individual items, occasionally yielding something valuable.

The youth widened his eyes and answered without pause: ”Huh, brother, did you come to rescue me? I never thought someone would come to save me. Did Old Yu send you? I didn’t expect he would still care for me.”

Su Changxing stood up, turned his head towards him, and smiled: ”Hmm, you talk quite a lot... However, I’m here to kill.”

The brown-haired, blue-eyed youth’s face twitched, looking at this eerie Joker with some dread, saying, ”I’m a good person, they got the wrong guy.”

Su Changxing fiddled with the gun in his hand, saying softly, ”Haven’t you realized, I’m killing good people?”
