Chapter 510: Chapter 94: Imperial Police

”It’s actually a high-tier mysterious item.”

Su Changxing looked at the silver-white, glowing scalpel in his hand, somewhat surprised. He killed someone casually, and now he had a high-tier mysterious item in his possession.

The scalpel’s paralyzing ability was pretty good, it added another attack method for him.

He glanced at Rick’s corpse, then immediately turned away from the room, guessing that other players might soon arrive here.

Sure enough.

As soon as he left, three to four people arrived, pushed open the room, and revealed surprised expressions upon discovering the corpse on the ground.

”Rick is dead!”

They all seemed to know this Monster Doctor.

Because he was a boss that could refresh repeatedly, even if players killed him, he would reappear somewhere until being found again by players.

Every time he appeared, his strength would increase, but no players found this problematic, what’s a slight increase in strength after death?

Because of this, Rick was widely known among players and considered one of the most troublesome bosses.

But today, Monster Doctor Rick was killed, which was surprising news. This kind of death might mean Rick was truly dead.

A blond man wearing medieval armor analyzed and said:

”An NPC likely did it; he’d be killed by another NPC. There’s another player’s body below; go check who it is and inquire about what happened. This is a very abnormal occurrence.”

······

”Red!”

Wang Yan stood stunned by the Resurrection Stone.

The Joker’s name was actually red, but the level couldn’t be seen.

Red represents the highest combat power at the same level, and also indicates the quality of an NPC or boss.

It seems no one has seen a red-name NPC, only at most gold.

”This is definitely a hidden boss; I actually encountered it. He swung a knife and killed Rick, how brutal.”

Wang Yan was full of excitement; encountering such a hidden boss was exhilarating, like triggering an Easter egg, just taking a look was satisfying enough.

”It seems a hidden boss did refresh nearby, but not sure if it’s the same boss.”

He pondered.

Some hidden bosses have never been discovered, although they’re powerful, they cautiously hide themselves.

Not only will players hunt them, but other NPC factions in the game world will hunt them as well.

For now, NPCs remain the most powerful presence.

······

In the cemetery outside town, it was pitch dark.

A hand stretched out from the soil, fingers long, pale, devoid of any color.

”Almost died, absolutely a freak.”

Rick’s head emerged from the soil, panting heavily, angrily complaining.

This was one of his abilities, clone resurrection, replicating his body and being reborn, achieving immortality.

His medical skills had reached a new height, exploring the mysteries of life and death.

Tier Seven, Monster Doctor was his position.

······

Walking back on the street, Su Changxing had already removed the Clown Mask, recalling the recent events, the more he thought, the more things seemed off.

He always felt Rick wasn’t dead, but Rick was indeed killed by him, the Doomsday Game even prompted this.

He also stole a spare ability from Rick, the Physician’s Hand.

[Stolen Physician’s Hand: Having precise and nimble hands is crucial for a doctor. Hand speed increases by 20%, agility increases by 20%.]

This ability was somewhat useful, though not greatly so. The current stealing position had a vacancy, capable of switching with the Shadow Cloak.

Su Changxing walked a big circle along the dirt road of the small town without any particular purpose, just wanting to observe the environment.

This indeed was a world of Extraordinary individuals, besides those players, there were many Extraordinary people, including the restaurant owner in front of him.

He appeared unremarkable, yet he had Tier Eight.

Some policemen wearing special uniforms passed by the restaurant; their uniforms had a golden orchid pattern on the chest.

”Who are they?” Su Changxing sitting at the counter asked Boss Henry.

The restaurant owner in the small town, Klein, was very familiar.

Especially this one, they had a strong supply relationship; Klein had originally gotten through the hardest times with his help.

Boss Henry thought for a moment and said softly: ”Them? They seem to be the Imperial Police, specially formed investigation team for the recent serial murder case. After all, too many people have died, and it’s not good, if it continues it might cause social unrest.”

”······”

Su Changxing fell into brief silence, guessing that the recent serial murder case might be Klein’s doing; otherwise, the police wouldn’t have come to investigate this morning.

The efficiency of these Imperial Police should be higher; they could probably find clues and direct the investigation to the farm.

After all, not all policemen could be incompetent.

These Imperial Police were all Extraordinary individuals, and Su Changxing sensed some extremely intimidating presences.

At least Tier Seven Extraordinary!

These Imperial Police might be more threatening than those players.

Su Changxing began to ponder about escape plans, once exposed, fleeing would be his only option.

However, pretending to be a good person like Klein wasn’t an issue; so far no one could see through his facade.

As they chatted, Boss Henry talked about his daughter.

”My daughter will be back in a few days; she’s still single, not young but quite beautiful. You’re single too, why not take her out these days... I guarantee you’ll definitely like her.”

It was clear he was worried about his daughter’s future marriage; he held Klein in high regard, believing Klein’s farm would grow bigger.

Introducing his daughter to a murderer, really a good idea... Su Changxing thought to himself, apologetically saying: ”Thanks for your kindness, but I might be quite busy in the coming days, not sure I’ll have the chance.”

Boss Henry showed slight disappointment, but still said:

”No worries, I’m just mentioning it; my daughter is quite mysterious too, not sure what she’s doing in the city.”

”Well, I should head out then.”

Su Changxing bid farewell and left, feeling that if they continued talking, they’d surely end up in strange topics... just to reiterate, I’m a merciless murderer.

Quite a while later.

A young woman in a black coat, with a pretty face, slowly walked out from inside, her eyes lively like an Elf’s.

”How was it?” Boss Henry turned his head to ask.

The young woman pondered for a while, then said: ”Not quite like him.”

”Not quite like? Not quite like what?”

Boss Henry asked curiously.

The young woman nodded, saying: ”He doesn’t quite seem like that killer.”

Boss Henry replied, somewhat irritated: ”Of course I know he’s not; I’m asking about the blind date.”

The woman fell silent for a moment, then said: ”I don’t like butchers.”

Boss Henry stared at her, saying: ”That’s an excuse; last time you said you don’t like pianists... the time before, you said you don’t like academics. Then tell me, what do you like?”

”I don’t know.”

······

Night descended, the whole town quieted down, only roaming players and patrolling police remained, the wind creaked through the door panels.

Su Changxing sat on a bench by the street, head down, deep in thought.

How to play the role of a serial killer?

That’s a question.
