Global Game: I Have Portable Store

Chapter 508: Chapter 92: A Strange World

”In this way, it seems pretty good; the advancement method is replaced by accumulated experience points. Is this change caused by the difference in worlds?”

Su Changxing picked up the order on the table and glanced at it.

”Bailan Restaurant, two tons of pork, please deliver early tomorrow morning.”

For the next period, he didn’t go anywhere but lay on the bed, resting quietly, waiting for his injuries to recover, like a wounded mouse hiding in a gutter.

He could feel that this was an extraordinary world, with a high energy density in the air, yet ordinary people and their world had no difference.

Nearing dusk, the employees gradually got off work, and Su Changxing also wore a yellow straw hat and walked onto the street, which was more crowded than he imagined.

But very strange.

Some people were dressed bizarrely and said odd things, but no one objected, as if it had already become a common occurrence. It was considered normal.

”Recently, they triggered a high-reward hidden boss again. Whoever finds him will really strike it rich,” a long-haired man excitedly said, wearing a black tall hat and carrying an old-fashioned long-barreled firearm.

A slender woman in a gown, with a pale complexion, spoke with distress:

”Stop talking about it; such bosses are generally very tough, not something we can handle.”

Another burly man in blue work clothes carrying a steel tube said thoughtfully,

”I seem to have heard that the boss might appear around here. The Holy Knight Guild bought information and is planning to deal with this boss. It’s said that whoever dares to interfere will never be able to mingle in this area again.”

The long-haired man with firearms thought and said:

”Just last month a guild had its boss snatched by solo players, now they are chasing and besieging. That solo player is said to have died at least 30 times already, quite tragic.”

The woman in the cheongsam said angrily: ”They are too overbearing; we solo players already find it hard to play, and they target us like this.”

These types of players were initially just here to experience life, but as they played, the feel changed.

The pressure of levels, resources, and rankings made the game increasingly competitive and more challenging, and more importantly, the game was too real, similar to another world.

A few people dissatisfied in reality thrived in this game, thereby gaining considerable wealth and social status in reality.

The man with the firearm was silent for a while and said:

”I read online that if the strength of the character in this game reaches a certain level, it can cure some real-world diseases... If possible, I hope we can try harder, as you all know, I have an incurable disease.”

They all knew each other in reality, being classmates and best friends, hence they played the game together.

A normally silent short person suddenly tilted his head and said: ”You believe that. I thought you all didn’t believe. Isn’t it just a game?”

The long-haired man carrying a firearm took a deep breath and said: ”Why not try, there’s no harm in it. Tomorrow we’ll find a way to wipe out that execution ground boss.”

The short person smiled and said: ”I advised you to wipe it earlier, but you said it was too difficult and wanted to wait... Don’t wait till tomorrow, it might get snatched by someone else by then.

Having said this, no one opposed, they turned towards the east side of the street, the direction of the main city.

Su Changxing quietly followed them, listening to their conversation, expressionless, looking just like an ordinary passerby.

He was now very sure that these people were players, very similar to the players he met earlier in the West Forest, truly players in the real sense.

For them, this world was a gaming world.

But for him, it was real, as he existed and lived here.

Nevertheless, he was different from other NPCs.

He could sense the difference between these players, while other NPCs couldn’t detect it, nor did he know why.

Influence of world rules?

Could there be a special NPC perceiving all of this... Su Changxing smiled under his straw hat, thinking about some interesting things. While he couldn’t attack these ordinary people, he could do so with these players without any hesitation.

Player deaths aren’t real deaths for them.

So he wouldn’t have any psychological burden from it.

Soon, he saw two people fighting down the street, one holding a Longsword, the other a large axe, extremely swift in speed, evenly matched.

Many players were watching around, along with NPCs cheering, including Chief Ford.

As a police officer, he had a spectator’s face on.

”Chief, shouldn’t you stop them from fighting?” Su Changxing walked over to Chief Ford and said.

Chief Ford looked at Su Changxing in astonishment and explained: ”They are conducting a fair duel, which is legal, I don’t need to intervene unless there’s a death.”

Legal?

According to law articles?

Su Changxing said nothing further, understanding that many things he found unreasonable were common in this world.

The strength of these two players was not strong, around Tier Nine; perhaps this was what’s called a tussle between rookies.

After half a day of battling, the Longsword player saw the opponent becoming exhausted, movements slowing, and took the opportunity to stab through the opponent’s chest, blood spurting out, spilling on the street.

Su Changxing blinked his eyes and said to the police chief beside him: ”He’s dead.”

The chief, looking strange, said: ”He’s merely slightly injured, not dead. Don’t make false claims.”

Immediately, the supposedly deceased player got up from the ground, dusted off his clothes, with a fresh red stain still on his chest, smiling and saying:

”Brother Chen is truly impressive, I admire you.”

This scene was extremely eerie.

If not for guessing the reason, Su Changxing would think they were even scarier than Zombies.

The Longsword player laughed casually and said: ”I only rely on being one Level higher than you, nothing admirable about that.”

Both were novice players, having a nice atmosphere between them, unlike veteran players who are contentious because of various interests.

This place seemed to be for players to practice fighting, and two others soon started fighting, much stronger than the previous duo, around Tier Eight.

One of them was a Mage, wielded some magical abilities that Su Changxing found intriguing, like summoning a group of Flame Sprites for battle, although their actual combat power was not high.

Su Changxing glanced at Chief Ford again and said: ”He’s using magic.”

Chief Ford looked surprised: ”Isn’t he just dancing? Quite nice, would be better if it were a woman with a big bottom.”

”...”

Su Changxing completely gave up on communicating with Chief Ford, as they were simply not on the same wavelength.

Indeed, something was blocking the sensory perceptions of these NPCs.

This side of the town resembled a gathering point for players, who gathered here being defenseless against Su Changxing, just viewing him as an irrelevant passerby NPC.

Until a handsome young man approached him and asked: ”Excuse me, where is Bert Dentist located?”
