Global Game: I Have Portable Store

Chapter 488: Chapter 74: Sprouting

Luo Haotian showed a surprised expression. Such Source Stones are extremely rare and can only be obtained through certain missions of the Extraordinary. They are virtually non-existent on the forum.

Yet, these members of the Doomsday Cult were casually offering a hundred of them, along with an additional fifty thousand points. This was truly over the top.

He couldn’t understand how the other party had so many resources. Their entire association probably had just this many points.

Su Changxing, of course, knew about Source Stones. In fact, the Extraordinary Crystal is a type of Source Stone and is considered to be among the higher quality ones.

However, something was off with this so-called cooperation from the other party.

It was overly generous. Either the mission’s difficulty was extremely high, or it was a trap!

The masked man smiled and said, ”There’s no need to doubt, gentlemen. This speaks to the strength of our Doomsday Cult. If this cooperation goes smoothly, we could further deepen our collaboration in the future.”

Su Changxing suspected all these resources came from the Doomsday Cult’s external mission system. The Doomsday Game is usually stingy, and it’s not easy for an ordinary Player to acquire resources.

”I want to speak with your leader personally, how about that?” Su Changxing suddenly said.

The masked man hesitated and said, ”That wouldn’t be appropriate. Given the current circumstances, we should be cautious. But if Mr. Clown is willing to join us, it can certainly be arranged.”

Su Changxing feigned anger and said, ”Hmm, you Doomsday Cult people are indeed formidable. Such cooperation seems difficult to continue.”

The masked man cheerfully said, ”We are in extraordinary times; we have to be more cautious. However, we can arrange another time for our leader to meet with you.”

This reaction of Su Changxing eased his concerns, but they still speculated about whether Su Changxing might be from the Security Bureau. It didn’t seem so.

······

In the dark night, the silhouette of the masked man gradually vanished. Su Changxing did not make a move but instead followed secretly using the Shadow Cloak.

From the conversation, he perceived something unusual. The Doomsday Cult’s so-called cooperation wasn’t just that; they had larger schemes.

The organization was still in its nascent stage and was far weaker than longstanding organizations like the Security Bureau or Chenxi.

The other party did not notice him, wandering in the alleys. Half an hour later, they stopped at the edge of a management area and crawled in through a gap.

Is this the place?

Su Changxing did not follow; that would be too risky. He didn’t underestimate the opponent despite their supposed inferiority.

Instead, he sent a small crawling robot through the gap.

This type of crawling robot has a weak energy signature, making it undetectable, and it lacks any life signs, resembling a moving rock or a trivial little mouse.

Below was a long tunnel that had been freshly dug; the soil was still fresh.

A woman, also wearing a mask, came forward and asked, ”How is the situation?”

”The Player Mutual Aid Association indeed has ’Joker’ behind them, but their aura is obscure, and I cannot discern who they are, much less gauge their strength,” the masked man whispered.

Inside were four or five people, some without masks, whom Su Changxing did not recognize.

”Is that all?”

Su Changxing rubbed his chin, contemplating the next move. Directly killing them was possible but not ideal since Doomsday Cult members were a scattered lot and not a tightly-knit organization.

A cartridge appeared in his left hand, its bullets glowing and transparent, without substance.

Switching the pistol magazine, Su Changxing fired five times through the ruins, the rhythmic gunshots echoing, neither rushed nor slow, as ghostly bullets pierced the ruins, hitting each target with precision.

”What happened?”

The masked woman saw people in front of her suddenly roll their eyes and collapse. Then she, too, felt her thoughts slow, her body losing control as she collapsed.

With the dull thuds of gunfire, the dimly lit underground fell silent.

The masked man retained some consciousness, struggling to look toward the door, as a tattered handgun-wielding Joker strode in from outside, smiling at him.

Su Changxing looked down at these fallen Doomsday Cult members and walked over, pulling the mask off the masked man’s face, revealing an extremely young face, possibly only seventeen or eighteen years old.

”Seems like some time was wasted.”

He pondered and decided to notify others to take them away. Those struck by his Netherworld Bomb would take at least a day or two to recover.

This move surely took the Doomsday Cult by surprise and served as both a suppression and a warning.

The remaining task was simple: wait for these Doomsday Cult members to regain consciousness and interrogate them for information to arrest others as needed.

Quickly, Yu Jieyi hurried over from nearby, where they were patrolling the area.

”Captain, they’re all Doomsday Cult members.” Yu Jieyi, surprised, asked as she looked at the unconscious people on the ground.

She couldn’t imagine how Su Changxing had subdued them so easily without a fight.

Su Changxing instructed, ”Yes, three of them are Extraordinary. Restrain them.”

”Rest assured.”

Yu Jieyi nodded, instructing other team members to strip the equipment and clothing off those on the ground.

Players shouldn’t be left with any items; it’s common knowledge that various strange objects can be unexpectedly harmful.

Then she quickly led the team away, heading toward the base.

”Shouldn’t there be...”

Su Changxing, standing in the shadows, watched Yu Jieyi and the others leave, lost in thought, planning to wait a bit longer to see if any more Doomsday Cult members would come to check.

An hour passed without any movement, only a few skeletal ghosts wandering the street, eventually getting into a fight with a giant cockroach.

”...”

”Have they been discovered already?”

Su Changxing turned and left, realizing that no Doomsday Cult members might show up, their discipline better than expected.

······

”What did Captain Yu suddenly do just now?” Lu Yu flicked a cigarette butt into the trash can, asking casually next to a teammate.

They had just returned from a mission outside to rest.

A young man in a black tight suit poured some steaming tea into his cup and said:

”Seems like they found some Doomsday Cult members and went to arrest them, although it was quite unexpected at this time... these Doomsday Cult people are a real nuisance. Can’t they just behave?”
